The heated presidential race in the United States has turned into a bloody one. Former President and the 2024 Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has been shot at and has survived an assassination attempt during his rally in Pennsylvania. The attack has re-opened a chilling chapter of violence in American politics. In his first account after the shooting, Trump said he was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of his right ear. The 20-year-old shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks was shot dead within seconds after the first shots were fired. US President Joe Biden said there is no place in America for such kind of violence. World leaders including British PM Keir Starmer, Indian PM Narendra Modi, Chinese President XI Jinping, French President Emmanuel Macron and others have also condemned the attack.

I'm so shocked that Americans are acting shocked. All the campaign rhetoric in the US has been heading in this direction! This 20-year old boy just followed through with action...! He listened to Biden & co...and he acted on what they all said to do.
I didn't know that this kind of thing was unacceptable in US। Now Biden and all the politicians on TV are saying it is not acceptable। Most people don't even know that it is not acceptable।
I think this is a defining moment for the upcoming U.S presidential election : this may have earned former president Trump more support and sentiment, but in all definitely bad for American politics….
