Vocals and lyrics is not something I thought I’d hear from you, and yet here it is, very well done too! I also like how you implied the hidden treasure to be a person, nice touch
oof... beautiful song!! very lovely and sweet melodies, and i like the way you carried the main chordal motif across different keys. the beginning of the progression @0:54 is a very cool moment of punctuation, reflecting the sudden encounter with the cat in the lyrics, and i love the meandering harmonic journey with colorful extensions sprinkled on all the chords.. i really felt myself getting whisked away here, like a secret slowly being unraveled. also the bass @1:01 - 1:04 absolutely rips as usual there's lots of interesting elements in the arrangement, especially timbrally/texturally, brought about by such an eclectic mix of sounds. i also found myself getting a bit sentimental encountering instruments i recall hearing in some of your past compositions, like the hang drum @1:20 that you used in planet ϕ, and the trumpet @1:30 which i think was in dance of the windmill. just small reminders of other tunes of yours that i still love :') thanks for sharing, and keep it up as always!
ahh, thank you for the lovely analysis! 🥹 with this song, i think i wanted to express a feeling of distance and longing and untold secrets. i'm really glad the music was somehow able to evoke this kind of feeling.
Lovely stuff here. I'm curious, what sample did you use for the FM-sounding guitar that comes in around 0:43? It along with the chord progression in some parts give me big Tsukasa Tawada vibes, specifically his work on Pokémon: Battle Revolution (that might be recency bias on my part though...). Super beautiful, as usual!
Thank you so much! the FM-sounding guitar is a modified version of the "solo lead" patch from the Synth1 VST (I added a slow LFO on the filter to make the "wah" effect). I'll definitely check out Tawada's work.
