The Concert Band is one of a number of ensembles of the United States Army Band, "Pershing's Own" (usarmyband.com). This performance features music directors from across the country who were invited to participate in the Band's Annual Conductors Workshop, at Brucker Hall, Fort Myer, Virginia.
From the program...
Thomas Gamboa is a Doctor of Musical Arts conducting candidate at the University of Michigan studying with Michael Haithcock. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in music education and bassoon from the University of California, Los Angeles. He earned a Masters of Music in Wind Conducting from Northwestern University where he studied with Mallory Thompson. He was also a conductor for the U .S. Air Force Band at Robins Air Force Base, GA, and Ramstein Air Base, Germany.
