Great video ! Stress in sadly a big part if my life and you’re so right about sleep… I haven’t slept through a night for many many years … nothing helps . I listen to RUclips vids on my watch later vids but always point the iPad away from my face and I lower the brightness to the lowest setting . Prayer helps … but still sleep eludes me . Stress comes from all areas of my life , my grown kids, my own health , not just my eyesight … sooo much .

Thanks for this, I think lots of us really struggle with this, yet we try to minimize it. It’s hard to get the right support. I have been dealing with chronic pain related to my sight loss for at least five years now. Creative and positive distraction helps, but managing pain is really tricky and any activity can raise my stress level and stress obviously increases the pain, and the witches cycle is triggered. Mindfulness and meditation practices helped me a lot, as well as focusing on what I CAN do. Like we all know, this all requires A LOT of patience since we also have to constantly adapt. Especially until the condition is somewhat stabilized. Thanks again Derek, and thanks everyone for your comments. I love being part of this community. Warm regards from The Netherlands

Great video. I agree 100% with the breathing thing. I stopped several times a day just to do some deep breathing exercises. It is a wonderful way to reset your mind and your body so that you can go on with less stress. I actually find that doing a breathing exercise as soon as I crawl in bed helps relax my body so that I can go to sleep easier.

Thanks for sharing! I should start doing that before bed as well.

Thanks for the advice as I tend to get stressed here and there whether it's from daily life or online. When I go to bed I set my phone aside and lay down. I tend to stress out over pain or bullying. With bullies I just tune them out and block them now but dealing with strain pain is a struggle sometimes, as I have only one eye, (my right). and it can have alot of strain, my right is 20/200. I also game as a way to de-stress. I have the Meta quest 2 and I'll play Vader immortal to exercise and focus myself.
