    Will be there be a comparison between the 50mm and 70mm of the DS35 variants? I'd like to see the differing field of views of the two different focal lengths - If I understand the differences correctly.. Definitely a DS35 is on the cards - replacing a returned Sytong HT77.

      @owlopticsandoutdoors  Год назад +1

      Thanks - yeah your right the 50mm will have more field of view with its lower magnification and I’ll run them side by side too - they should be released soon; the 70mm 850 and 940 nm LRF models are here or (940) arriving next week - if ya contact us I’ll reserve one for you and let you know

    Thank you for the very informative video. Only one question: are the "electronic" ballistic calculator of the DS35 more accurate than the "mechanical" way we use in our regular day scopes, I mean data charts from ballistic sites (JBM, Hornady, etc.), with turret dials ? Thank you.

    • @owlopticsandoutdoors
      @owlopticsandoutdoors  Год назад

      The mechanical way would be more accurate, given the 5.6 to 11.2 mag vs 4-30 optical allowing the fine adjustments to be seen further out for placement - but for practical hunting (especially at night) its very accurate and we have used to 750m - its also blindingly quick, tag aim and fire; far quicker than dialling - much like Swaro DS, Burris Eliminator etc - also at night this is huge, try ranging, entering data, dialling find it again, its moved … we use it on 45-70 subsonics out to some 250 which is a huge elevation change

    • @dannyboy4805
      @dannyboy4805 Год назад

      @@owlopticsandoutdoors , 750m? That´s outstanding. What type of IR illuminator do you use for that distances?

    • @owlopticsandoutdoors
      @owlopticsandoutdoors  Год назад +2

      That one was in the day
      660 yards out of the box on a pig though - several at that range
      We do have and only use it for extreme range or just lighting up a huge area the coyote cannon turbo - basically a pard out of the box goes as far as you need and to get further you need to go big
      Never see the point of any NV unit that requires a external torch just to work

    Hi excellent video… but tell me I’m thinking of buying one or the other because they both have lrf … but my main question is with my sub 12 ft air rifle if I aim at a pigeon 45,yards up in at tree and I’m 45 yds from the base, will the lrf be able to calculate an accurate shot given the trajectory and upwards gravitational pull on the pellet or is it only good and ground level laser work!

    • @andydowden8117
      @andydowden8117 Год назад

    hello friend, my DS35 just arrived how do I measure the distance of the target during the day, since the laser is invisible during the day, since the lasers do not coincide with the secondary reticle, also because for each distance the laser is not always in the same place inside the lens! I can perfectly make the laser coincide with the secondary reticle, making changes in the settings, but in the various distances it is not always in its place, so during the day it is a problem for me to measure the target, especially if we are talking about a small and long target distance,
    Can you give me some advice on how to do it? Thanks again and congratulations for your videos

    • @owlopticsandoutdoors
      @owlopticsandoutdoors  Год назад

      Just go out in the evening - doesn’t need to be in a rifle - night mode you will see the flash of the laser rangefinder - pick a bank or tree further than you normally shoot and use that to show the laser flash - then move the LRF aiming box to that. Longer distances are better as it removes move of the angle change

    Nice comparisson my friend. I have several 18650 batteries, but some of them are 3.6v in stead of 3,7v. Do you know if the 3.6v can harm the unit?

    • @owlopticsandoutdoors
      @owlopticsandoutdoors  Год назад

      Best to make sure they are 18650 batteries from a good supplier, ours are from Panasonic the GA versions have a nominal rating of 3.6v as do the B versions

      Thanks for your reply. I have several Samsung INR18650-35E units. They are 3.7V and should be okay then. I was referreing to my Panasonic 18650 Li-ion 3500 mAh with a tripple protection circuit.

    • @owlopticsandoutdoors

      Are those protected? All the pards take flat top batteries - the protected versions are longer and won’t fit

    • @jbhk7977
      @jbhk7977 Год назад

      @@owlopticsandoutdoors Yes you are correct my friend. They are a little longer then the flat tops yet they fit. But don't want to put to much pressure on the end caps and springs of the battery compartment so I will not use them. Thanks for your support, all the best wishes for 2023 from the Netherlands. I almost forgot . . . do you know where I can download the latest firmware for the D35 (should there be updates) and is it possible that new firware will increase the number of zooms (more gradual steps) maybe even a 2 or 3 time zoom?

    • @frasercann1345
      @frasercann1345 Год назад

      @@jbhk7977 you should be able to get the firmware from the where you got the unit from - currently there aren’t any updates. It is possible that there will be a continuous zoom as thats just software - personally for hunting I like the 2 step zoom being simple and quick. If you use the PIP feature you will actually get 2x the main view in PIP so 22x

      Howdy,thanks your reply as im just after buying 1 and waiting for it's arrival in Ireland.if the rangefinder flashing light is near impossible to see in day mode can the rangefinder and balistic calculator work during the day or just nightvision only,also can the laser rangefinder be adjusted around the reticle to suit people's preferences?

    • @owlopticsandoutdoors
      @owlopticsandoutdoors  Год назад

      Yep sure can - you would use the LRF aiming box (day or night really) as that has the range next to it - the box can be moved to match the laser exactly - the laser cant be moved as its fixed in its housing

    008s looks much better in daytime. in night without IR DS35 had more aggresive noise reduction (it is not a good thing - looks smooth tough). what happened at the video end?

    • @owlopticsandoutdoors
      @owlopticsandoutdoors  11 месяцев назад

      The ds35 is a better image daytime as well - especially with lens cap and iris - colours are nicer. The 008 s has a higher magnification being 6.5 vs 5.6 which will contribute to what your seeing I think, looking at the cows - nothing more at end was a bit of a short finish due to some loud noises occurring in the recording that we didn’t notice while filming
