I use a 10lb bag of manure from cow and a 10lb bag of manure from chickens. Place in a 55 gallon barrel topped off with water and a air pump. stir twice a day for a week. Next I go out to the trees and pour the mixture down 6in pvc tubes that are 4 feet into the ground. I pour in about 3 gallons per tree. The PVC pipes are about 12 -15 feet from the base of the trees. I do this in early spring and late summer.

I’ve been doing some digging on the nutrition for oak trees English oak in particular and I’ve seen it recommend values at either 10-10-10 or 10-6-4 has anyone got anything they can perhaps add to this?

Hi! I have a oak tree that is struggling, it’s right next to the driveway. We had an arborist come out and look at it and he suggested fertilizing to ensure it can get nutrients. A few questions:
    What fertilizer are you utilizing?
My tree is a white oak tree, what fertilizer would you use?

What do you do for baby oaks? I have an oak tree that is two feet tall and I want to make sure it has everything it needs.

Give it good soil. Good soil feeds the plant. Let the root flares be well exposed so it can breath.

You do know that tree roots can expand out as far as the tree canopy and the roots are what take in the nutrition...right? 😕

If your oak is native to your area, never do this shit. Tree don't need to be fertilized. Just a waste of money.

I should have known when I heard the southern accent that this man was not doing anything to help wildlife, rather to hunt and kill. Get another hobby Baba.

Educated Hunters are some of the best stewards of the land young sailor... let me guess your a vegetarian? I pant vegetables and fruit trees for my families consumption on our hunting grounds. i just so happen to harvest deer, grouse, black bear, turkey, squirrels and other tasty furry critters on our land. If your not a vegetarian, whats the difference of going and buying beef from the store that you have no idea who has tainted this store bought meat with, antibolics, genetic modification, steroids, and who knows what else OR...... going out and harvesting free range USDA organic venison or other furry tasty critters from your own property???? let me guess your a beef eating liberal that believes animal rights.... you should look into how those animals are treated before consumption... there is nothing wrong with harvesting wild game to provide for our families and improving habitat for all wild life. you see US "hunters" don't only love to hunt we also love the land. its states in the bible 42 times about hunting. Genesis "Now then, take your weapons, your quiver and your bow, and go out the field and hung game for me." let me guess you don't believe in the bible either. you see if it wasn't for hunting you would no be here due to starvation from your ancestors. let me guess you don't believe in the 2,000 year old book because your gay. well i don't have any advice for that one. Get you a real man's hobby Dallas....
