I agree. Puch mopeds aren't bad either tbh! I had Tomos T14M which never gave me any issues. Later went on scooters and currently owning a Vespa but I'm looking to buy once again a Tomos.
@@dejandoles2683 Puch had some design fails (weak swingarm; weak clutch pull bearring; loose needle bearrings in the gearbox; weak bike stand...) wich were all improved by Tomos in their 4L type. (I'm not talking about the 2L and 3L models, these were even worse than Puch!)
@@bobdevries4028 I needed to look to which models you are reffering since in Slovenia Tomos never sold mopeds with names 2L, 3L and 4L. 4L correspond to our APN4. Did Tomos sell in Netherland also stronger models like T14, T15, BT50 or just automatics, targas, apn's? On the end, up from late sixties I agree Tomos had better quality than Puch.
@@dejandoles2683 As far as I know not. They did sell some Puch Maxi like models under the name of A2 automatic (centrifugal clutch) and A3 (automatic gear shift, 2 gear) By the way, I also had a SP5, a 5-gear with a very heavy front fork; front wheel with an enormous drum brake and an 11 litre fuel tank. The 2L and 3L models were exact copies of Puch's MV50 2 and 3 gears foot shifted.

When i was 10 years old ( in1970) i got the exact same moped from my father because i couldn't keep my hands off my fathers dkw moped and drive it on occasion to elementary scool. Needless to say it was a rustbucket and could only manage max 30km/h on full song. But after some cleaning and adjusting this 2 speed would easely run as fast as 70km/h. Haha put several kreidlers , hondas and zundapps to shame. Great video. Mine was olive green with off white and was called RAP PUCH.
Weldone! If you can use the quality paint ( 2K-PU Clear Gloss) for the last layer or as a top coat, that will be better. Use aerosol paint (1K system), the durability is shorter than 2K PU. 👏👏
Super je što udahnjuješ život lepotanu iz moga detinjstva. Samo ti jednu stvar zameram, trebao si ga ofarbati u neku original pastelnu boju. Ovako više liči na neki japanski motorin. Pozdrav!!!

I love that moped and im from slovenia where these were made and here is a lot of them one day i wish i get that model i just love tomos and i like to se people put eford in them to restore them in their original shape.
I never saw a single bearing being changed , nor piston rings changed or any checks on wear and tear. Putting back the two old sprockets was also a bad idea so I presume the old stretched drive chain was re-used as well. It was hardly a restoration because the bike wasn’t returned to original condition . the original machine wouldn’t have had a kick start nor foot pegs ... it was designed originally for pedals.
That is the first thing I noticed. I went back through the video to see where the engine was stripped and the internal mechanicals were done. Great job on the cosmetic side but nothing on the mechanicals.
Hey it aint restored till we see it running without being pushed, although I'll still ok a push start. Although I'll have to say your job 'looked' good. Well done.
Nice job! Beautiful bike. My father owned one T12 in the late 60's. In the early 70's when he bought his first Zastava 1300 car he needed to sell it. Later he said it was one of his biggest mistakes in his life :). I also owned and tuned newer Tomos bikes in the late 90's and early 2000's. I learned the basics of mechanics on them and I still use that knowledge in the everyday life. Good luck for your future projects!

Great restoration, I love that green. But I feel like overall a 32 minute video does not do this restoration justice. This is such a complex project that I wish the video was longer to show more detail of the work that went into it ❤ God bless
what I love about these videos is just how shite the restorations are, everything sprayed in crap silver paint, and rattle cans, they remind me of shed and buried.
Honestly, it's a very satisfying video to watch simply because of how the bike looked to begin with and how it Chavez towards the end. I found a few issues though. Number one, the only work being done on this overall vehicle is tinkering and painting. What about the engines and wheels and such. Second, why do you hide the bands of the products you use. People are not going to steal your product ideas . BT showing the products you use, you can get two benefits. The brand will reach out to you fur endorsements meaning you make money and your viewers will get a basic idea of what can be done if they're in a similar situation. Third, while the sounds of your work are great, a bit of music wouldn't hurt. Pse ignore typos because I am typing ak this on a phone.

I had a Tomos 4L for 8 years and yearly rode some average of 15000 km on it. Simple engine, simple gearbox, easy to repair. Way better than Puch.
