I think everyone forgets he's The Chosen One, which we learned in one of the first few movies, which I'm fairly sure is the reason Ash is able to meet so many Lengedaries. No doubt they KNOW he's The Chosen One so they choose to show themselves to him.

We need more parts where they react to his “deaths” , his battles and some angst as well as his strong Pokémon and other stuff
weirdly enough in the anime ash has canonically died 6 times
1st time in the episode tower of terror a chandlier dropped over him and pikachu and then pikachu electrocute him temporarily turning him into a ghost.
2nd time in the first movie we he "attempted" to stop mew and mewtwo fight both of then ended up killing him.
3rd time in the mystery of lucario movie ash was eaten alive by a pokemon blob designed to hunt humans.
4th time in the "I Choose you" movie ash died by the pokemons under mind control of marshadow, ho-oh himself have to revive him.
5th time in the Manifest movie he drowned in the sea trying to restore the sea crown.
6th time in the Victini movie he was frozen to death in the outerspace.

i choose you is in an entirely different universe from the regular pokémon anime
and the black and white movie time line doesn’t meet up with the black and white anime time line
i don’t remeber the exact details, but i think it’s because in the movie ash’s tepid was still a tepig. During the movie cilan, ash, and iris all meet zeckrom/the other one i forgot). In the anime, iris tells N (i think she told N) that she would love to meet one of the legendary dragon pokémon in unova. during this scene Tepig was already evolved, these two events do not line up, and i don’t think the entire crew would just forget meeting zeckrom and rekram
