Spotter is on point! I’ll admit I would have liked to see him have you take a couple beauty lines and get those tires tucked and axles dropped but he made the right calls
Sean Hillaker oh, it's a fairly easy trail. I've got some vids posted on my RUclips channel. Are you a member of overlandbound.com? A handful of us are going to do Daniel Boone backwater byway early April. Would be awesome if you could join us on that. Supposed to be pretty epic. It will be my first multiple day expedition.
Looking to get a bumper but am concerned about the weight. What you have is pretty much what I am looking for. Either that or just try and find a functional bull bar. Did your bumper make your truck sag much or affect the ride? I'm finding that these bumpers weigh about 225 pounds. Great video/driving by the way.
trainNGain TT I have an OME lift so it's made to support a aftermarket bumper. It went from 4" to 3.5" of lift up front like it was designed to do. if you're looking for a light bumper I would look into nfab tube bumper or get a custom tube one built
So only 1/2" loss. Not bad. I have a Pro Comp 3" (just 1" in the back to level it). I won't be doing what you do but I do love the look and the protection that the metal bumper offers and some extra clearance. Not sure if the Pro Comp will lose much. Eventually when my tires need replacing I will go with a bigger lift and tire. I just can't see wasting the Michelin A/T 2 for my purposes. Black Pearl is awesome. Good spotter too.
if you're worried about a 250lb front bumper/winch then you shouldn't be running it. this is an easy trail that this truck struggled with, take away his spotter who was A+ and this dude doesnt get up the trail.
Haha man apparently you know so much about my driving skills and how my truck works. Yes the spotter is top notch! Did I need him to get to the top? nope. Is trail easy? yes I would say so but also I'm not trying to blow my IFS on my daily driver.
Damn, if Toyota would throw a solid front axle in that truck you would probably be able to take those lines even easier. Still super impressed with how far you got in a IFS truck. Just goes to show that the equipment is only as good as the driver and I think you wheeled the piss out of that yota.
I'm not trying to be a dick but the tundra is struggling to get through I'm surprised honestly. I hate these new trucks with IFS. My 99 Ram extended cab easily goes through trails much more difficult bc the solid front axle flexes. That IFS has no flex which makes things much more difficult than needed but people want trucks to drive like cars so that's the price you pay. Good to see you are actually using your truck though props on that..
Blazin Trails If Toyota made current day truck with a solid front axle and a diesel engine I would have it but they don't. I'm not sure what you mean by struggling but taking something slow to not break something isn't it. I'm not like most Jeep owners that just gas it up the hill and just hope nothing breaks...which I had a hand full of jeeps do in front of me all trip. If you can tell me modern day 1/2 truck that could climb this obstacles better let me know I would be gladly happy to trade mine in.
Sean Hillaker That's what I meant.. Manufacturers should build trucks to be a truck. IFS has no business on a truck other than to make them feel like driving a car. I'm not knocking you or your truck it's a nice truck but like at 3:30ish in the video the truck struggled to get over that rock simply bc of the front suspension. That's the main reasons so many Jeep nuts are out there bc they're small and have solid axles front and rear so they'll go practically anywhere. Anyway good video man
Sean Hillaker power wagon bro. It's technically a 3/4 ton but a gas engine. Straight front axle. Front and rear lockers. Built in winch. Things ready to crawl right off the lot. Not sure if the ram rebel has a solid front axle tho.
KrisEagle At Uwharrie no, I fit down every trail and completed the whole park in a day and half. Granted I'm very careful and have been driving this truck in tight places for a long time. Somebody could take a Tacoma and end up smashing the crap out of it trying to keep up with me. Know your capabilities and do what's comfortable for you. There's plenty of very very close calls but I always fit

Love your tundra setup. Took mine recently to Hurricane Creek in NC. Tundras kick ass. Need that front bumper you have and a winch.
Paul Kind thanks! I was considering to drive up and ride that trail in a couple of weeks how bad is it?

Yeah i think im going to try to tackle Richland Rd. On Apr 7th
Oh man. I'm dying to do that one. Wish you were going a different weekend. It's real close for me. Like 1hr away tops.
I have to say you have one good spotter! The best spotter I have is funny enough my girlfriend she got us through the dusy trail
jdmrider yeah hes pretty good as he usually wheels out west in Colorado and Utah so this stuff on the east coast isnt difficult compared to out there.
How come Toyota doesn't put Lockers in these Trucks.?¿

well with a spacer lift/block lift you will lose even more height bc you're still runningbthe same stock coils

Good fucking spotter...knows what hes doing and not screaming to ruin the video lol

Blazin Trails agreed
This is because their building trucks for the 95% of truck owners whose truck won't see a single rock besides gravel. And off roading means grass.

Did you have any problems fitting. On the trail?

Are you using any wheel spacers or is that stock offset?
Taylor Albaugh Bora 0.75" Wheel Spacer
Sean Hillaker have you noticed any negative effects of using the spacers?
Are both your diffs locked?
Basher - just the rear is locked
What size are your rims? 17”??
chicovonchico 17" Rock Warrior Wheels on Cooper STT Pro 37×12.5r17
Sean Hillaker awesome! Full respect most guys on RUclips are posers.
thats my dream car bro
lame dreams
a tundra trd pro is not ?
i feel you. probably be looking for a *new* truck in 8 years, can't wait to see what toyota can do to their tundra by 2025
USA By 2025 the tundra will basically be a luxury car, let's be honest
Reece Schmit either a luxury car or non existent. Or a thrown together tin can of a vehicle to try to meet EPA standards.
