MODIFIED Mini Rod Body is HERE!

A new modified mini hot rod body is born!! and it’s for my first customer!! the newly modified mold has produced a fantastic body, with the rounded edges turning out perfect. I’m extremely excited! #fibreglass #gelcoat #crocrodz

The issue is the gelcoat is not even, it has to be 16-18 mil all over the mold, thicker areas take longer to cure and they will pull the dry areas loose, leaving it missing or having the mat texture

These mini rods are perfect for the BBSHD 1000 watt electric bike motor sitting in the trunk area with a chain drive connected to the rear axle.

Great job, will the mini engine actually fit into that engine space it looks to narrow for one. Perhaps you could use a motorcycle engine instead

Thanks mate! I put a 125cc quad bike engine in one, the engine go in the back with room to spare, I have a couple of videos on putting it in and driving it around. I might do a front engine cart one day. Do mean mini engine like out of the car called mini?

Hey buddy why are you not spraying your gelcoat its faster and easier to get a nice thick coat then brush your hard areas and don’t know the type of materials you are using, but i use all non waxed that way I can take my time between layers, keeps the heat down to prevent warping

I don’t have a cup gun, and brush it on is fine. I use non waxed gel and resin. I get little to no warping on the body but the boot / trunk lid is a different story, that was the worst one I’ve ever made and I now know why it turned out like that so it shouldn’t happen again

@jeffprice2008 don’t give up hope man, find something similar and make your own version, if a dummy like me can do it then anyone can. I learned a lot of what I’m doing here from RUclips and learned a lot from my mistakes too 👍
