oh my god. i've never seen that mario party king bob-omb fight, but that's actually a really interesting mechanic. the different sizes lead to a sort of psych-out game where you want the bomb to be thrown but you don't want to risk losing it if someone has the same idea. it would've been pretty cool if after taking his health down halfway anyone who didn't throw a bomb was blown up by the remaining ones, causing an elimination scenario. but i'm probably looking way too into this :p

It's actually funny, I couldn't beat King Bob-omb in Paper Jam under the time limit for the life of me when I was first playing it, so how I beat him was that I stocked up on cards that improved my Emergency Block and used all of them before the timer went off so when it did go off and he self-destructed, I just used Emergency Block and everyone somehow survived with a very low amount of HP.
