    Best half ton truck ever built. If I could buy a new 2nd Gen Tundra today then I'd absolutely do it.

    I own this exact truck. 2019 Tundra SR5 in Cavalry Blue. It’s dead nuts reliable and paid for so it’s a keeper.

    Worst decision of my life was selling my 2021 Tundra when the lease was up. I made a killing in profit, but I miss the truck more than ever.

    That powertrain was class leading when it came out in 2007 and even to be competitive until late says something.

    Big Toyota fan here but I won’t buy another one until they put the 5.7 back in it.

      @ I have to agree with you on that but a part of me lives under the fantasy the Trump administration will turn things around and get rid of some, if not all the EPA’s ridiculous regulations

      It’ll never happen. Hopefully Toyota gets the V35A sorted out because I think it could be a great engine. Though part of me is curious how the 5.7 would perform with a 10 speed and how much it would improve its performance.

    We had a v8 tundra as our hunting truck. It went everywhere and could carry some serious weight in the bed. We beat the crap out of the underside on the rocks and sage brush

    I don’t know why Toyota was against a locker or even an LSD in the 2nd Gen Tundra? That’s would have made the truck even more popular and capable IMO. Instead they relied on ATRAC, which works but it isn’t great.

    • @haroldbeauchamp3770
      @haroldbeauchamp3770 15 часов назад

      Probably for the same reason that they removed the tranny cooler in the end of the 2nd generation. San Antonio manufacturing plant isn’t cheap to run. High cost, little profit for Toyota. They had to cut costs somewhere.

    I owned an 2011 and 2021 Tundra. Didn't like the 2022+ with all the Plastic. Bought a 2024 Silverado Trail Boss instead.

    Finally took the F150 STX off road last weekend. The 2.7 Turbo is nowhere near as fun to drive off road as a V8. Miss my Titan for offroading, but the F150 is so smooth on road...i cant win 😂

    • @davidporter7051
      @davidporter7051 15 часов назад

      the post makes no sense. The 2.7 makes torque immediately and is a lot lighter and the weight savings is on the front axle which is exactly where you want savings on an off-roader. Everything performance wise favors the 2.7.

      How not? The Titan Pro-4x has always came with a locking rear diff, skid plates, better V8 power and better mpg and better interior design. The Titan has better reliability!! So what does 2nd gen Tundra have?
