30 years of Rolex experience and can say the 10 minute countdown timer is what I use my chronograph for 99% of the time. I will also go on record that I find it a lot easier to use and read than when I had a Daytona. The dials are too small on the Daytona and you have to unscrew them every time you want to use them which is pia. The YMII movement is a masterpiece to those that are a watch nerd and understand it. The YMII is not designed for the newbie Rolex the the herd mentality. Its for the advanced collector.
Timing a time-out for your kids? Finally a watch for the Supernanny!
Hi Dilip,
I guess anything is possible in the era of reality TV! Of course he/she would need the wrist to pull off the 44mm...
Best,
Tim
Why do you need to move the bezel? Are you going to set the time if you don't?
With that stupid number of tedious steps to set a timer, and only 10 minutes timer, my thing that needs timed is already done.
If you have enough money to spare and spend this watch could be one of the many you already had. so no explanation required. keep all of them you like.
what does it do at 0? just stop?
"its a better cronograph that a Daytona" MAN are you serious????????

Hi vaskco10,
Thanks for contributing to our channel! Better than a Daytona? Probably not. It is, however, much easier to read due to the size of the time scale, and the programmable 10-miniute countdown finds many real world applications that make the Yacht-Master II a surprisingly useful chronograph companion.
While designed for regatta, the YMII is a very flexible tool for simple timing exercises such as those associated with cooking, breaks between meetings, and more.
Best,
Tim
+watchuwantinc I understood it as better to read that a Daytona, just like you said, sometimes it isn't wrong to rewatch a video ;)
Its rated as the worst rolex watch
Shafir Iqbal how do you know that?
This one first copy?
This is useless EVEN if you sail. I guess this 10 minutes countdown is only useful if you sail specifically regattas.
For sailing in general, It would be A LOT more useful if it kept the GMT along the local time.
