The Story of Rabbi Shalom Arush - Into the Garden of Emuna | Meaningful People #69

  • Rabbi Shalom Arush is the Head of “Chut Shel Chessed” Institutions - Chut Shel Chessed’s incredible success is largely due to its leader - Rabbi Shalom Arush, and his unique ability to reach out and touch the hearts of Jews and non-Jews throughout the world.
Rabbi Arush is not your typical orthodox rabbi. Born in Morocco, he made aliya and moved to Israel with his parents at age thirteen. After graduating high-school, he served in the Israeli Defense Force’s elite naval rescue unit as an airborne combat-medic, where he took part in many clandestine missions.
After completing his three year stint in the service, Rabbi Arush attended university, majoring in economics. During that time, five of his closest friends were killed in a helicopter crash while carrying out an army mission. At their funerals, the Rabbi wondered about the seeming futility of life. This tragedy was the catalyst for a complete metamorphosis in the Rabbi’s outlook on the world, and eventually led to him discovering the truth of Torah and mitzvot.
Rabbi Arush studied in several yeshivot until he finally found the teachings of Rabbi Nachman of Breslev. Rabbi Arush learned with Breslev giants like Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Bender zt”l and Rabbi Shmuel Shapiro zt”l .
Eventually, they urged the Rabbi to move to Jerusalem to begin bringing his fellow Jews closer to G-d. With his teacher’s blessings, Rabbi Arush established Chut Shel Chessed Institutions twenty years ago.

Rab Shalom Arush has been important in guiding other monotheistic groups such as the Noahides. I came across his teaching in 2015 watching a lecture to Noahides in Mexico (monotheistic gentils) who follow the Torah. I was so overwhelmed with emotions reading his book Garden of Emuna that I went to see him live in 2016 in a synagogue in Brooklyn during one of his tours in america. It was my first time ever in a synagogue . Rab Shalom really plays the role that HaShem wants the jewish people to play, the role to bring the light to the nations..

Please forgive my ignorance, I was raised in an English speaking, Christian home and have only recently come to truly seek the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and attempt to learn the Hebrew language. Is the Rabbi saying “Ami Israel”? And does that mean to love Israel? Also, he mentioned the worst sin which sounded like Aseen Aseen (again, please forgive my ignorance-I just truly want to learn)…could you tell me what that means? Thank you so much! So many Ben Noachs desiring to know Hebrew and Hashem and we are just such babies in this walk. Any help would be so appreciated! Thank you for interviewing the Rabbi! I read Garden of Emuna and Women’s Wisdom and both books deeply impacted my life (and continue to!)! Thank you for your podcast and for all who teach us who are hungry and thirty for righteousness! Much success in your journey of the Soul! Check description for all our main links - thanks all again! :)

@@BreslevEnglish Thank you so much! Thank you for clarifying! I am praying for the peace of Israel! And will now pray for the people of Yisrael to love each other in word and deed! And for there to be a stirring even in the hearts of “the nations” for Yisrael! (Like it has in my heart!) There are many who are already coming to your people, holding on to your tzitzits, begging to follow you as we have inherited lies and now seek the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob knowing that your people have been given the very words of Hashem and we long to follow Him! The One True God! Thank you all for sharing this online! There are so many seekers and so many of us can feel hopeless because we don’t know where to start understanding in an Hebraic mindset. Thank you all for your wisdom and insight! Thank you for clarifying and being patient with us as we learn and try to understand! Baruch HaShem! ❤️

Sinas Chinam = Hating your fellow man. Gd wants us to love our fellow man.
The Rabbi is saying he started praying for 1/2 hour each day for the benefit of the Jewish people that they should get along and not hate each other.
