    Nice video. According to how I saw the referee score it, the boy would have won this match 10 - 2 over the girl. It was a nice clean match but the boy was stronger and a little better wrestler (girls, who develop earlier can sometimes be stronger in middle school but not in this case?) and he dominated the scoring. I give the girl credit for being scrappy and fighting to the end. But she did not have much chance for winning in this match and could have easily been pinned in the second period. Congratulations to both wrestlers.

      Girls like your baby are changing A LOT of minds about girls coming to grips with boys. In fact, it's a done deal because of a lot of fearless, hard working kids and their supportive parents.
      You have to admit that it's probably still strange to go toe to toe with boys and just not give in and be overpowered or out wrestled. Still amazes me. One day, it won't. And THAT"S amazing in it's own right!

    • @Mandolin1944
      @Mandolin1944 9 месяцев назад

      @mnjimmy21 YES! You are correct! It is definitely best to wear headgear because wrestling is hard on the ears -- the ears get beaten, flattened, and bent over in wrestling. When I wrestled in high school 60 years ago we would often get "cauliflower ear" -- that is when the entire ear gets inflamed and swollen (engorged with blood) from all the stress on it during head locks and being pushed into the mat. The inflammation goes down in a week but for at least a decade later after you stop wrestling your ears will get inflamed if you bump them on something again. Wear headgear.

      @@nealteitelbaum8660 Then I'm surprised they allowed her to as most girls that wrestle boys have short hair. Even top females who wrestle other girls have short hair, or they use the headgear. Keep in mind very few boys, especially those in wrestling would have hair below the collars anyway. Again, I don't know why they allowed her unless they changed the rules to get more girls involved in wrestling, and thus the rules had to be gender neutral, though most boys as I said would not be affected as they already have short hair.
