Beetroots were sweet enough for my Red velvet pudding & savoury enough for my curry | Traditional Me

රතු අල කොළ මැල්ලුම හදල රතු අල කිරට වෑංජන හදල ගත්තම එදා දවල් කෑම මේසෙ අමුතුම ලස්සනක් තිබුනෙ. අර්තාපල් අල ලොකු කෑලිත් එක්ක පොඩිවට කපාගත්ත රතු අල වෑංජනේ අපේ රටේ හැමෝටම හුරු පුරුදු හැමෝම රස දන්න කෑමක්. රතු අල වල රතු පාටයි, පැනි රසයයි දෙකම අර්තාපල් වලට උරා ගත්තම මෘදු වෙන්න තැම්බුන අර්තාපල් හැපෙද්දි අමුතුම රසක් මතු වෙනවා. ඒ රස ගැන දන්න හින්දමද මන්දා රතු අල වෑංජනේ හදද්දි අපේ රටේ හැමා්ම වගේ අර්තාපල් අලේකුත් කෑලි කපලා රතු අල වෑංජනයට එකතු කරනවා. රතු අල කොල මැල්ලුමත් ඒ වගේම තමයි. රතුඅල කොලේ තියෙන රතු පාටයි කොල පාටයි දෙක එකතුවෙලා පොල්මැල්ලුමට එකතු වෙද්දි එන රසට වගේම ඒකෙ ලස්සන පාටට මම හරිම ආසයි. එක ලිපක රතුඅල වෑංජනය හැදෙද්දී ලාවට ගින්දර මතුවෙන අනිත් ලිපේ මම මැල්ලුම මලව ගත්තා.
රතුඅල ගලවන්න අව්වේ ගිහිල්ලා ඇවිල්ලා හරිම මහන්සියෙන් හිටියේ. ගොඩක් දවල් වෙලා තිබුන නිසා මම මහන්සි බලන්නේ නැතුව දවල්ට උයන්නත් පටන් ගත්තා. ඒ අතරෙදි කොහේදෝ ඉඳන් මල්ලි උස්සගෙන ආපු තැඹිලි වල්ලෙන් කපල දුන්න තැඹිලි ගෙඩිය අතට ගනිද්දිම මේ දවස්වල රස්නෙත් එක්ක තෙහෙට්ටු වෙලා හිටිය මාව සීතල වෙලා ගියා. මේ වගේ වෙලාවට තැඹිලි ගෙඩියක් කියන්නේ දිව්‍ය ඔසුවකටත් වැඩිය වටින දෙයක්. යාන්තමට ලුණු රහ මුහු වෙච්ච පැනි රහ තැඹිලි වතුර බින්දු සීතලට දිවට දැනෙද්දී ගත හිතයි දෙකම කුල්මත් වෙලා යනවා. පහුවෙනිදාත් මල්ලි තැඹිලි වතුරෙන් රසම රස බීම එකක් හදල දුන්නා. රතු ඇපල්, කොළ ඇපල්, පෙයාස්, දොඩම් පෙතියි, එක්ක තැඹිලි වතුරයි රතුඅල යුෂයි දෙහි යුෂයි මිශ්‍ර කරලා මල්ලි හදපු බීම එක නම් ඇත්තටම හරි අමුතුයි, හරිම රසයි. එක එක ජාතියේ පලතුරු කෑලි වෙන වෙනම හපලා ඒ ඒ පලතුරේ යුෂත් එක්ක බීම උගුරක් බිව්වම ඒ හැම බීම උගුරකම එකිනෙකට වෙනස් රසක් දැනෙන්නෙ, හරියට නිකම් බීම ජාති ගොඩක් එකසැරේ බොනව වගේ. කොහොමත් ඉතින් අපේ මල්ලි අපෙ පවුලේ රස විශේෂඥයනෙ.
මල්ලිගෙ අමුතු බීම එක බොන ගමන් මම රතුඅල වලින් අපේ මල්ලි ආසම අතුරුපසක් හැදුවා. ඒක කේක් වලින් හදන පුඩිමක්. රතුඅල යුෂ වලින් වර්ණවත් වුන තද රතු විල්ලුද පාටින් පිරුණ වෙල්වට් කේක් හදල එකෙන් තමයි මම කේක් පුඩිම හැදුවෙ, එවෙලෙම වංගෙඩියෙ කොටල ගත්ත රටකජු ඇට වල නැවුම් තෙල් රසයයි, අපේ රටේ හැමෝටම පුරුදු වියළි පොල් වල තියෙන රසයයි දෙකම මම ඒ පුඩිමට එකතුකලා. අපෙ මල්ලි වගේම ලොකු අම්මලයි අහ සුදු නංගිත් ඒකට හරිම ආසයි. ලොකු අම්මලත් හැන්දෑවෙ ⁣ආවම අපි හැමෝම එක්ක ඒක රස වින්දා.
