I've got the 1.5tsi se in England it's a superb car with brilliant build quality so far I've been averaging 45 miles per gallon and 53 on long journeys it drives very smoothly your better off with the 17inch alloys no problems so far after 3050 miles hope this has helped in some way.
Nice review. Would have liked to have understood the performance in the context of acceleration to 100kph and passing times in the 80-120kph range. With small engines, load based performance would be nice to understand as well as what spare tyre is provided. Nonetheless a solid review. Well done Jake👍
Thank you again for the support Gaz, much appreciated. Unfortunately, we were just on the Karoq's launch for this review, and it was pretty tight so apologies for not getting the full breadth of information into the video review - such information is in our written review, however. We'll get the Karoq into the Chasing Cars garage for a more thorough test as soon as we can, including a planned Ikea trip but thank you for the support. What I can tell you for now is that the Karoq's 0-100km/h time is 8.4 seconds for the manual, and 8.6 for the auto. A comparable CX-5, Tucson, Sportage, Qashqai, HR-V, etc hover around the 10 second mark. The 1.5TSI's 110kW might be less than some of those competitors, but the 250Nm torque figure is impressive for such a 1.5-litre engine and is up to 50Nm more and much lower in the rev range than those cars. It also uses less fuel than those competitors listed, especially in the real world where those naturally aspirated 2.0-litre engines that the Karoq competes with on price use much more than claimed - especially the Tucson and Sportage).
i really want to get this car.. i have to get rid of my diesel Golf.. and to me i think this is the car to go f or.. i will try to find one near me for a test drive.. otherwise, i think i like it..
Are you an Aussie, Alex? It's normal to see an Australian driver on a sunny day like that wearing sunglasses. I'm fact, I'd suggest that opticians would recommend it.
No, I'm European. We too wear sunglasses on a sunny day, of course we do. But when you're filming a video and talk to the camera it's nice to look the presenter in the eye. I remember one episode of Top Gear where Clarkson excused himself for wearing sunglasses during filming because it's so rude not to have the ausience see his eyes, but he had a hideous eye infection.
I’m European and it’s weird too! He’s driving on a sunny day. Nothing wrong with it. Great review I’ve seen pretty much every one and this takes the cake.
This is a not a city car, it is a mini SUV capable of off road driving, and you should test the car in the area what it was meant to shine. Driving the car on a highway does not do the car justice.
I love this review, no nonsense, no cheesy jokes like most car reviewers do these days.

Glad you're enjoying your Karoq, Keith! We love to hear from owners and seeing how they're enjoying their cars.
Good review, shame the editor forgot to colour grade the interviews.
Nice review. Bad hair year?
Good work, Jake!

Any idea when the AWD & larger engine will land in Australia?
The let down in the interior are the hard, scratchy plastic armrests on the doors. Skoda should rectify this asap
Agreed
You are a professional tester drive good luck for you
I've been waiting for this review. Well done. Is Tom in the doghouse?
Jake’s on local video duties while I go drive some new stuff overseas ✌🏽 -Tom
