      Dillon Hawkins Not bad? You floor it and it takes about 5 seconds before it starts moving. The transmission is one of the worst, if not the absolute worst in the auto industry. The transmission lag is unreal. Also, over 270 horsepower and still manages to take 7.8 seconds to 60. Yikes. The interior is also one of the worst of any modern car. Cheap, crappy materials and fit and finish, awful technology and a noisy interior. It’s an absolute pile of crap, no wonder rental car agencies are the only ones buying journeys.

    I think Dodge MAJORLY dropped the ball on the Journey. It should have FAR FAR more luxury options on the higher trim levels. More interior colors to choose from only black leather as an option isn't cutting it. More cargo room as well. And why in GODS NAME did you drop the V6 in the 2020 and up models. BAD BAD move Dodge this could have been quite the contender especially since it has AWD. You don't even offer a power liftgate on the highest trim level...C'MON...!!!

    I have 2018 crossroad. No complaints about the power acceleration at all. My question is will the engine and transmission last 300k with proper maintenance? I use it for Uber and it was much cheaper than a Toyota. Passengers love the room and it's very flexible. I have a 2018 why are the reviews not so great ? It seems like a solid SUV so far at 55k...

    • @averyaman431
      @averyaman431 3 года назад

      Chrysler transmissions are known not to last 100k miles. They are seen as the worst transmissions to have in a car. And if you didn't know Chrysler owns dodge which means there's a Chrysler transmission in your Journey. You don't necessarily need to be worried though because there's quite a bit that do make it past the mark but, you have a way higher chance of having a transmission shit on you than a Toyota or Honda

    • @averyaman431
      @averyaman431 3 года назад +1

      Also easy maintenance on a Journey is an absolute nightmare. To get transmission fluid changed you have to go to a dealership and to change the battery you have to take off your tire and go through the wheel well. They made it way too difficult

    Why does this engine have a 4k rpm governor in park?

    • @sakariaskarlsson634
      @sakariaskarlsson634 4 года назад +1

      So you cant launch it that hard, if you rev in neutral then drop it into drive, especially close to redline that will send the car flying forward instantly, great for dragracing, for whoever drag races a damn minivan? however, if you do that repeatedly, that will damage the transmission badly, and exploit the hell out of the powertrain warranty if they cant prove it, and that is why you cant rev more than 4000 in neutral or park. Now you of course cant drop it from park to drive directly, but to reverse, so you cant launch a car that hard in reverse eighter. Yes it sucks for us who just want to rev the engines once in a while, but i guess it makes sense and saves them a metric ton of money.

The dude literally pulled that out his ass crack 😂. The reason there is a 4K soft limit (throttle controlled) is because you shouldn’t need to free rev over that and almost all manufacturers are doing this now to ruin the fun.. that said you can easily remove this with a tune which I do all the time as I dump tune for a living. I’ve never had a customer come with a journey but my sibling has one and we tuned that out specifically to allow the ricer revs lol.
