⚠ IMPORTANT CSS UPDATE ⚠ When logging into Squarespace, if you see the word "Website" at the top of your menu, you are using their new internal navigation! To edit the CSS of your Squarespace website, click on the word "Website" and scroll to the bottom of the list of pages. Here you'll see "Website Tools" - click on that option and select "Custom CSS" to open the CSS panel and add your code here. Hi, I love your channel. I am switching my domain name to a new name to reflect my brand changes. Is it possible or even necessary to do a 301? I dont have access to the old site any longer. I just terminated Kajabi which I hated for six months and came back to SS.
Such a great question! If you’re changing your domain, you won’t need to redirect the whole thing, BUT I would recommend setting up 301s for any pages that are indexed by Google that you aren’t recreating, so Google will know what’s up. I also recommend setting up a custom 404 error page with some info about the redesign so that folks visiting your site will be aware of the changes. Hope that info helps and best of luck with your Squarespace project! 🍀
