It is a genius level move that not only secures their sound financial footing with all of the best assets in the world, but it creates arbitrage type hedge against almost any type of financial difficulty imaginable. If gold price goes up they can mint more gold backed $ and purchase BTC or any other asset that they want to hold in their USDT reserve account. If the price of gold goes down then I am certain that other assets in their USDT account would be going up, so they simply mint USDT and purchase more gold. If they work this strategy correctly they can rule the financial world! I would look for them to add more metals besides gold to their Alloy reserves. Will Energy be next? How about an oil backed $?
I think the unexpected pre-halvening rally has made a lot of people (even I haven't ruled out the possibilty) that it was the parabolic run and we won't see another one with that amount of "buying energy" lets call it, in the bull market. I'm still not selling in any case. The Tether gold is good; it means you can diversify your dry powder into something else for additional security.
