  • This is a really good problem on combining the Product Rule and the Chain Rule to find the derivative. We start by identifying the function as a product and notice that each term is a function raised to a power, which requires the Chain Rule to differentiate. We make use of a special case of the Chain Rule, the General Power Rule. This makes the problem much easier! The shortcuts for the Chain Rule are linked below.
