Thank you for the introduction showing the aerial view of the site and the mine plan. Tied knot - check 🧗That was quite a descent, lots of debris and a heart stopper when the ladder wasn’t as secure as you thought - phew. It’s cool when you come across a date on something, just that scrap of a newspaper from 1937, I wouldn’t have expected something as fragile to still be there. You have great tenacity Frank, always pushing forwards to check every area in a mine - most of us would have been exhausted just getting in. How amazing when you got to the part of the mine where the mine tour ends, there were some nice artefacts in there. Enjoyed the explore, and look forward to seeing what you get up to next time. Take care and be safe. 👍❤️
It’s always awesome watching you explore a mine when you’ve got the time to be thorough Mr. Frank. It’s amazing to see how the miners would follow the veins till they pinched out. Some of those spaces are mighty thin!! Thanks for sharing your adventures man...
That's a very cool mine. I rock climb and When I'm top roping I protect the Rope from sharp edges with a piece of garden hose slid over the climbing rope. I just punch a small hole in one end of it and tie it to the climbing rope with a thin line using a Timber hitch or clove hitch.
Slow and easy is the way to go. Yes, must move things around to get to the bottom. Cool artifacts, 1937 sugnificant. Got enough rope to hog tie anything. 1908, great. Mines in the Southern USA are older than that. Nice museum. Thanks for the Tour, nice adventure.
Frank you are a bad ass! I feel like I am with you on each adventure. You know so much and are so informative. Always excited when you have new videos. Are you on a big tour of the US mines? Whats next?
Another great video Frank, I just recently found out a buddy of mine has 60 acres in Elko NV with the mineral rights. He has never been there but neighbors tell him that there are 1000's of abandoned underground mines in Elko NV. I'm wanting to plan a trip out there and camp on the property for a couple weeks. You should go to the Murphy Mine Complex in Jersey Valley NV and recover that guys body that fell 190' into a shaft out there in 2011. His body is still there
Exploring Abandoned Mines google it his body is still there, they brought in so called experts but they called the recovery off and the guy died down there.
A pretty cool mine with some fascinating minerals. They have the mine tour set out really well with lots of relics of miners from way back when. Thanks for sharing, much love. x
Sometimes when going down tight shafts I will attach a short 5 foot rope to my harnes and attach the other end to my backpack and let it dangle below me a few feet so I will be thinner to be able to go down. Thank you for the great trip underground
I just came across your channel and I’m loving it. I had a boss when I was 13 years old that took us guys to Sandon and Cody. It became a tradition for at least 8 years to make our yearly pilgrimage to that area and explore the old mines. One of the reasons I got into filmmaking was because of my brother filming our trips. If you ever need a number 2 🤷🏽♂️😁📱 🎥
Exploring Abandoned Mines A lot of the mines in that area that I have explored are starting to collapse or get blown shut but that whole mountain range is a honey comb of opportunity. My boss struck a deal with the guy that runs the store in Sandon. He would tune the piano in the store and in return he would loan us a few keys to some gates 😂
Heading over to the Grand Canyon, starting out on Monday. Maybe we will see you on the road and be able to buy you some brews or maybe that new florescent light. Keep rockin my friend and stay safe as always!
Frank, while I agree with everything you said about that front bar, it is a little lightweight. Just to shut people up, you should tie your second point around something like the front rim. putting both on that bar means that if the weld ever did fail, both points of contact are lost. It's not exactly redundant in your configuration
I really wonder who those people are that press the dislike button... Does RUclips provide you and additional information on that ? E.g. are they lost RUclipsrs ? Regular viewers who pressed the wrong button ?
CLINTON THE FAM if you don’t tie a knot and your carabiner slips like some do you’ll slide right off the end. 😳 Frank has fell off the rope before for not tying the knot at the end, luckily he was only like 5 or so foot from the ground. That’s why we all give him a hard time for it. Lol

nice one frank. what part of california are you going next not much snow here in northern california this yr many areas are still able to get to with 4x4
Chris Seifert yes they do. There are several mines here in the southwest U.S. that encounter/connect with natural caves. I forget which videos, but there are a couple here on youtube where someone is exploring an abandoned mine and they come across a natural cave.
@@TheMattc999 I have been watching these videos as of late as they are very interesting and after doing so I wondered if at some point a natural void was encountered. I have no doubt that miners were digging out everything that needed to be.

It's a shame that the mine tour folks aren't really seeing a mine as much as a musium, the drifts look more like buffed corridor's an furnishings strategically placed. If I were to go on a mine tour and pay money I'd rather it be a tour of the mine how it was left.

You and your not knots. I think when you roll up your ropes you should tie a knot in the end so it's already there for the next drop. LOL I've been a fan for years, and you forget more things than anyone I've seen. but you also have more Balls than most anyone I've seen. I think we're about the same age, (I'm 58) so I know how the mind tends to not be quite as sharp as it once was. Sucks getting older. I've been out with one of my Sons exploring old mine sites where I live in Southern Utah. He actually told me, you get around as good as Ole Frank does Old Man, after we spent the day on some wicked steep slopes. "Not Crazy Steep" as someone would say. Got some cool photos of walls they created on these steep side hills, old cook stoves, and an old air compressor tank that was all riveted together. Sites from the 1880's. Pretty cool stuff when it's right there in front of you. Kind of gives you the energy to keep on climbing the hills to see what's on the next level. BLM has them all sealed up, but I know we'll find some open eventually. Stay safe Brother, and we'll see you next week.
Yes the government isn't as supportive of my explorations as my subscribers. It wont be too far into the future when we wont be able to do this anymore...at least in America.
@@exploringabandonedmines Yeah it's really sad actually. They are trying to wipe out our history, and the history of what went on here way before the "White man" settled here.
