I’m glad you did this review. I bought a Stihl FS94R yesterday and I love it. Going from cheap junk trimmers to that one is definitely a learning process because of the power. I’ve had it 2 days and I’ve already taught myself to edge with it and it’s gonna be nice not having to keep up a trimmer and edger.

I have had a Combi for about 10 years. Everything that you show above plus a blower and hedge trimmer as well. About the only think I don't really use much is the tiller attachment. Everything else is well used. I also have a 6' extension that I use with the chainsaw head to let me reach way up in trees from a 12' ladder. Engine is only now starting to get hard to start. Never tuned it up, never replaced the plug, mix fuel like I mix cocktails (a bit of this and a bit of that), and still runs like a champ

I've been using the FS90 with all the same tools you have. After 7 years, 5 years using it professionally, it has finally given up! Just one carburetter (Stihl) in 7 years, it just wouldn't run any longer, dealer said the engine is just tired. I've ordered the KM131R to replace it, picking it up tomorrow and looking forward to the extra power!

Pole saw and extension, brush cutter, trimmer and blower... Everything still performs like new. Oh, upgraded the the pole saw to a 16" bar and chain. Good stuff!

I have the stihl km130 kombisystem unit with the tiller/cultivator attachment, the rubber paddle broom, the bristle broom, the string trimmer, edger, 145 degree articulating hedge trimmer, the pole saw and I have two 3 foot carbon fiber extensions. No matter what tool I use or how hard I push this thing it never bogs down or loses power. I like this kombi unit better than the dedicated units because the engine on this km130 is 36.3 cc 1.9 HP and you can use the same powerful engine to run all of the tools and save storage space and money by not having to maintain multiple engines. I used to have 5 or 6 dedicated units and they took up alot of storage space, now I can literally fit this whole kombi system in a golf club bag. This kombi system is well worth the money and it's worth paying the few extra dollars for the bigger engine, (110, 111, 130, 131).

You mentioned brush cutters and that the Stihl cost around $1200.00 a few years back. I have the Echo 410U that I have used for years. I have cut down 6" diameter trees with it with carbide blades. You can get one for $600.00 delivered. Nice thing about a brush cutter, as you probably know, is that they can cut a tree or sapling flush with the ground with no trouble.

I just buy gas and mix it with your silver bottle oil. I always let it warm up and I always let it run at idle to cool down before shutting off. I feel like someone's I'm trying to break it because I can't believe how consistent the startup is after sometimes weeks of not touching it. I'm new to Stihl compared to most but I'm inches from putting a sticker on my truck.
I don't have any stickers on my truck. My experience with small engines is not a positive one. I haven't even changed the filter. It's nuts. And I run it in salty sand in Pawleys too. I'm just waiting on something to fail so I can rule out kryptonite or some bs.

I’m not sure what the second model is but maybe it’s the KM111R. Between the two I think I would go with the KM111R. The KM91R would be great for string trimming and other light tasks like edging etc. The KM111R would have more power (1.4 vs 1.27 hp) for tasks like the pole saw, brush cutter, and tiller. Use would be a big driver for me.

Not impressed with the build / design quality of the connectors on the attachments. They have a pithy plastic guide that holds the shaft in on both the head & attachments.
Only had the 111 for a couple of months & after 4 edging blades the drive shaft dropped out due to the plastic retainer wearring out.
Im going to have the same issue on all the attachments by the looks as all use the same component. Not happy about that as I bought the hedger, blower, straight edger, straight trimmer & tiller.
Was surprised to see the straight shaft version of the edger wasn’t a solid shaft & even more surprised at the chincy retainer / guide.
Seems these are designed to be consumables just like the blades. Not inspiring.
From day 1 the edger bounced at optimum revs so I m going to have the head checked as well.
It’s not been the easiest starter, especially when warm so I guess it’s back in for warranty.
Just as a note they didn’t cover the retainer under warranty???
Also bought the BR800 & I love the power, it really excels in wet leaves etc.
this to is not starting easily after the first start for the day. Was told I wouldn’t need to choke it after the 1st but it picks & chooses wasting my time. Was also told it had 2 fuel intakes in the tank but it only has 1. Was surging at around 1/2 a tank & cutting out at a 3rd. I poked the fuel pickup in deep so better but still surges on 1/4 tank & needs filling after a little under that.
    Then there’s the HS82 trimmer.
Really wish I’d not relied on Stihl’s good name here again. Difficult to start both cold & warm, starves & stalls if not used upright so once again back for warranty.
Also very disappointed in the handle rotate release mechanism. Once again very chincy & difficult to use due to poor placement.
The last thing I’ll say is all of the new Stihl tools spit petrol all over you if you’re not extremely cautious opening the petrol caps.
When they work they’re great but I didn’t spend thousands of dollars for downtime & earnings lost.
Have been having a close look at the Echo equivalent & if this is ongoing I’ll be getting rid of the Stihl’s for them.
The older Stihl equipment I have is going strong after many years of hard use so I can only suggest they are cutting corners & using sub par components.
The designers & penny pinchrs needs their asses kicked six ways from breakfast.
As you can probably tell I regret my most recent purchases & an sorely disappointed in Stihl’s quality control & obvious design flaws.
I still have some old Cryobi gear that’s still going strong, doesn’t say a lot for the new Stihl range.
