Your comment about batteries and exposure meters caught my attention. Older cameras that relied on 625 mercury cells for their 1.35V voltage stability as a reference for light metering do indeed have significant shift in exposure reading if using the 1.55V silver oxide batteries. To my knowledge though the FX-3 super never used mercury cells and therefore does not have this problem. I have a Canon FTb which did use mercury cells and for which I purchased an MR-9 "regulated" adapter to lower the voltage from 1.55 to 1.35V. However, I also have an FX-3 Super 2000 which does not need any battery intervention. In fact my particular camera seems to have a different error to yours in that the meter seems better exposed to the shy side in order to obtain negatives which look best to me. 🙂 My Yashica was much neglected by me for a number of years as I purchased it primarily for its mounted Contax lens. However recently I have shot a few rolls through it, mainly on a 35mm 2.8 ML lens, but its images look quite sharp and I thought that most of your Venice photos looked quite sharp although the pictures of your friends not so much... I only recently stumbled upon your videos but find them quite enjoyable - well done - thank you!

Thank you for your feedback! If the handful of film cameras I've used so far, I have never has exposure issues due to the battery, maybe I've just been lucky 😅
I really liked the Yashica, but decided to sell it because I wasn't satisfied by the lenses.

I have two of these FX-3 Super 2000 (1986) SLRs, the latest iteration with 1/2000 sec Shutterspeed. No need to push a extra button for the Lightmeter, like the original FX-3. Its a robust, albeit very plasticky SLR, based onto a metal chassis. All mechanical, the battery SR44/LR44/AG13, etc. is only being used for the Lightmeter to work. You can also apply the Sunny 16 Rule.

Hi I was also recently in Venice shooting with the FX-3. Although I think your photos came out better than mine.
