In my opinion I like the Culdcept PS2 the best! Now seeing the opponents hands on their turn is basically a unique feature to the Culdcept series and fits well with how the game plays.
Just curious, when you play online, is it as in the video where you get to see the other player's hand? I only own the PS2 version of the game (its only hot-seat, no online) and you do as well but I've always wondered if that was intended (from this video, seems like it) and how differently the game would play if you couldn't. Which do you think would be better?
I'm not sure if leveling up Wolverine or Herald Spirit to level 3 would have nailed me enough g in both land value and symbols to win this match but that would have been my best move after destroying his idol to prevent him from using a Telegnosis + Barbarian combo or a potential lucky draw of Chariot in the 94th round. I can probably figure out the math myself to see if I could have won with that, I just can't believe that of all the numbers I could've rolled it had to be a 2 with backward.
With 5 rounds left it was a race to create as big of a difference between me and YO as possible and playing it safe was no longer an option. your right, I did not have enough money to use Word of Recall if I leveled up Herald Spirit to lvl 4 (would of had 23g left) but I would have been fine for the most part if I leveled up Wolverine or Herald Spirit to lvl 3. I don't know if that would have gotten me above 7,080g but Pain, Land Drain, or Bandit would've lost me the match regardless what I did.
Couldn't you have won if you'd leveled up Herald Spirit and Wolverine and then used Word of Recall on yourself in Rounds 91-93? In any case, great match!
I know the Japanese version featured online play. If we can just have that ported to the Switch or XBOX series X, with that Online capability, I'd be playing that for months on end.
Hell of a fight! Looking forward to possibly crossing paths with you both in the next tournament. :)

Is this still online?

Ps2 culdcept is superior, but you can get some greatness out of the 360 version as well
Really hoping they decide to revisit this and create a new one

I mean, hindsight is 20-20, of course, and this is a guy (Dirk) who went 2-8 this season. LOL.
You too! (~;
