  • Coloured communities particularly in the Western Cape feel side-lined by the very laws meant to bring equality and improve the lives of the previously disadvantage.

Let's stand together my coloured people and get what belongs to us in this country... We cannot continue in this way with us being side lined and being marginalized and there seems to be a rise in people bring racist towards us... I deal with racist black people every day and we don't deserve to be treating that way so let's stick together

We coloureds are slaves that arived at the Capetown Slave Lodge 1600; we come from Asia ; East Africa ; Middle East ; Madagascar ; Zanzibar ; Mauritius ; West Africa. The West African blacks had sold us to Dutch ; but know we have to face the South African blacks and the Dutch ; these people can murder us.

Maybe you can answer this. Coloureds were allowed a voice in Parliament already in 1980- so why did you not say this to the then National Party.

At least one genetic study indicates that Cape Coloureds have an ancestry consisting of the following ethnic groups:
      Khoisan: (32-43%)
      Bantu-speaking Africans: (20-36%)
      Ethnic groups in Europe: (21-28%)
      Asian peoples: (9-11%)

The issue is coloured don’t see themselves as blacks and don’t want to associate themselves with the blacks so what do you think the black in which you were before you became anything else which you don’t accept and don’t associate yourself with which is why the coloured communities have a lot of issues. Just look at the confusion with the youth/young in the coloured communities. If you don’t know where you come from, you’ll always be lost because there’s a void which you’ll always try to fill. The term coloured is a apartheid racial term to simply separate people blacks, in which there are different variations/skin tone/ colours and hair textures of what black is. Look at the Ethiopians or people from Madagascar. All in all you’re Black bruh. Whether you admit it or not, even if you’re mixed raced, you’re Black before you’re anything else. Anywhere near the world you’re Black. The sooner you accept & be proud of who you really are the more you’ll start to understand yourself. Look at Beyoncé, Barack even Van Diesel & the Rock. All proud & black but hey each to their own. Peace & Love

I don't understand why we have two Educated coloured men speaking in ways that place us in a position (once again) of passivity. I cannot see what is so wrong with uniting around our culture and our heritage as coloured people. What is so wrong with finally standing together as a race in our Country and standing up to present coloured challenges to the people of South Africa? We see clear racial representation in our Government, how can we still call the bold step of the Coloured Peoples Empowerment Initiative foolishness? We cannot allow ourselves to continue to be told our challenges are everyone's challenges; Its truly not.

@@ngalahansel6066 Then why did the ANC recently sign into law the employment equity act that exclude colourds and indians, along with white people, specifically from the job market? This is not coming from a white government, but a black government that are separating the races. Go look up the Amended Employment equity act that was signed into law by Ramaphosa just this year.

Coloureds aren't black! A discussion that needs to be had is about blacks having Abandoned their language and culture. And are imposing the white English language, which is foreign even to them, on the coloured people. Coloured history and culture is the Most diverse and rich than any other group in the country. History is again being distorted because almost all that is being taught is about the so-called struggle and Nelson Mandela. Blacks should show RESPECT for Afrikaans, which is the Only indigenous language in this country and for the massive contribution the other groups made to the development of the country. Otherwise we will Never succeed as a 'nation'
