*Realistically* speaking, what are you expecting or hoping to see in Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown's Season 3? Also, Happy New Year! (or New Year's Eve depending on your timezone haha)
-THE MOST IMPORTANT THING WE NEED IS CROSSPLAY AND CROSS PLATFORMS PLEEEEEEASE KT -An actual ranked lobby so i can get to solar court without boosting -Missions, Different game modes (Hide n seek for example) so we have a lot of things to do while leveling up or farming money because only races sucks -The ability to sell cars -More optimized game (I play on a Xbox Series X with performance mode and still get frame drops, especially in First Person) -Working mirrors (They made that mirrors only works in quality mode which sucks because i really liked the mirrors but i can’t play at 30fps (its horrendous)) -Add more exclusive cars per season (6 recycled cars and only 2 new cars like Season 2 is just stupid, it should be at least 4 or 5 exclusive vehicles and just 3 or 4 recycled ones) -Better livery editor -A proper down shift sound because sometimes you down shift and the car doesn’t make any sound, like its a very quiet exhaust and also fix some engine sounds (Portofino, 488, 918, AMG GTR, Every single Bugatti (Bugatti low rpm sounds beautiful, the problem is when you’re at high rpms), and also the exhaust “pops and bangs” sound like in the California, Diablo, 720s etc for example which is terrible + i didn’t watch the whole video yet BUT i agree with everything you said 🫡 (I could probably make a very long list but yeah, i think they probably know everything they need to do) Also Happy new year Alex and everyone reading this!!!
I've always thought about Gran Turismo & Forza as Racing games, while Test Drive Unlimited is a driving game with racing in it. Those taxi, delivery, follow, adrenaline & other missions are the difference, it's what made it TDU
This will never happen. Because in dev diaries, the devs kept saying it's a racing game. They are clueless. They want more active players, they should remove region lock and add in cross play. This should their priority, some regions in tdusc are so dead. I don't play tdusc anymore because of being a single player.

Most of all just want them to get those missions in. It's listed on their website, they should have been in the game on day one, it's appalling that they haven't directly addressed it's omission yet.
I really want an expanded Ibiza. I think the evidence of it happening is there. The current area is small but DAMN is it pretty. Was borderline going to uninstall the game until I tried Ibiza. Stunning.
I want the same, but I have this horrible feeling that the evidence you refer to is more suggestive of things that they were gonna do but cut owing to the disastrous reception of the game. I rlly want this game to improve and do well. But I fear all the hate will just make the devs put in minimum effort for the remaining seasons and then call it a day. The hate for this game is unreal and totally unjustified. We know its not the devs at fault but the publishers and investors.

Offline mode and im in. The Game is okay i mean its not an tripple a title but its an small studio so its not an issue for me. The grafics are like on PS4 but theres room to improve so also not an big deal. But i dont wanna wait 15 mins like in the demo days to join an server. Thats most of the time 50% of my gaming session. The SSD improvment on PS5 is sooo good and the crew is doing way better. So please devs give us an offline mode - so we can decide what we are willing to play always online or offline!

I'm not buy TDUSC for now, but I follow your vids, and I hope season 3 or 4 makes the difference. I see improvements, & as u say: the taxi and delivery missions with animations is crucial to us, the TDU fans, i think. Houses too, but i know:: really great/fine work takes more time, because in my opinion, what i see is: this game physics is near perfect for this title, for the legacy of TDU. I think KT/nacon puts a lot of work for driving physics. I can't wait to see the future improvements! I'm hopeful. They should add resolution to all the "FINISH 1st place" banners and similar. Even at 1440 they look like 720p, all pixelated. Looks like a game for smartphones.
I think it would make more sense for them to focus on cross play over region lock. From a networking point of view the servers are not witholding very well at the moment with region lock. If they made it so people could play across the world it will be awful with 200 ms latency added on to it. If they focussed on cross play first instead of both it would be easier for them as they will just need to figure out the leaderboards. But an easy solution to that is just add tabs. Add a steam leaderboard playstation leaderboard and Xbox leaderboard in different tabs. Also a solution to the ranked is either make every race in tdu a ranked race meaning any race you do will affect it. Which is the easy solution or implement a full lobby system where you can queue up for a ranked lobby and just play in the freeroam while it's waiting. This will be more difficult to implement in just over 2 months. All I know is I am fed up of using my girlfriends account to get the exclusive car each season. Also a nice feature from TDU2 which I can't imagine will be too difficult to implement is the ability to jump in as a passenger in someone's car.
it desperately needs other activities to do that set it apart from every other car game because why would I want to race cars in this game when i can race cars in Forza and Forza is just a better car racing game. It needs player housing, more interiors to visit, more customisation for everything and personalisation to show off to other players. Uber/pizza deliver missions, options to date NPC women and have a gaming mechanic like in outrun where your girlfriend shouts out things for you to do while driving and it has a meter where she gets impressed and in return you get special coupons that give you exclusive items. My main issue with this game is why should i drive cars in this game when there are better and more immersive car games out there and they need the out of the box thinking and features that make this game different from the rest
I don't know if you've played it, but I think Midnight Club: Los Angeles did steering wheel animation properly for controller users. At speed, 90° each direction. Stationary or low speeds and that's when you get the full animation
Also, before they do the custom dials, they need to recalibrate the needles in the actual cars. If you want examples, they pretty much fixed it for the starter Mustang, but it's still wrong in the Range Rover
I guess most important that they keep they promises and steer the game to real TDU. That's what is promised for season 3 so we have now to wait and see. But it can't be cut TDU features, they have to be at least same level or above (i.e. they made clothing shops in Ibiza map, but they are simple menus, not real stores; it's very vague tryout at TDU feature). I think season 3 will be live or die situation for the games future. For sure might be something yet in the middle but my hope is for the "live" situation. I really want real TDU game, been waiting so long..
Also if everything goes well in year 2 we must have houses with garages. Now it's another game where I have my cars in menu. I would like to visit my house in different locations and storing different cars in each garage. Oh that brings memories. Had full yacht garage with all Ferraris :)
I like the immersive driving experience the game offers and the maps are good. But damn did they ever screw up with all the online nonsense. Do you want to buy a car, want to customize your car, want to customize your character? Well ya can't because 'Lobby error, connection timed out' exists. My wishlist: 1. Servers that actually work. 2. Other people to race with through cross-play or no region lock. (I haven't seen anyone online in days on xbox) 3. Offline mode so I can still progress in game when it disconnects. 4. A reconnect button in the menu (forza horizon has this), instead of having to restart game each time to go online. 5. A refund if none of the above are done. A good way for KT/Nacon to get players back, after fixing the network issues, is to put the game on playstation plus and xbox gamepass subscription services. This gives the game a low risk option for people to at least try it. It would also be a good way to stress test the 'fixed' servers. Besides, they're not making any money on the few sales the game gets anyway. The windshield wipers in this game...why!?
All these suggestions are great, but we need rank races to be full. they gotta figure out how to get people playing. Removing the rotating races can help, but also just make rank one place on the map, and start a playlist. or just let us join from the hotel. theres too many variables separating all the players in the game. There should also be a nonranked mode that lets us join any random race on the map that currently has people.
The new TDU game will put an end to such problems, no matter how many updates this game gets, it will not be a good game, happy new year to everyone, see you in the new TDU game
1. pc optimazation .... its unacceptable my rtx3090 only gets 30 fps for this game.... you need to fix this and not rely on DLSS to make your game run better 2. interactivity..... houses.. dealerships... more animations... anything honestly these 2 things are enough for 1 season... the 'networking' you mentioned IS NECESSARY, but its so broken at the moment that im not really 'missing out' on anything if that makes sense. most importantly though, is to keep open and honest communication with the player base, be honest about what they are working on, and we will keep supporting them.
They need more personal or another studio to help bail them out so they can focus on new content sooner. If another team can bring out missions etc while a big chunk finishes and polishes the game
Here's the way TDU can be saved. And this solution is for legit fans of the franchise and customers who buy the game, not anybody who makes money off the TDU name: A. Nacon/KT cease development, hand over the TDU name/franchise to another dev who is competent, and from there - - 1. Do not build your new TDU game to be online-only, push season passes, live-services, 5-year plans, etc. That is the opposite of "TD/TDU DNA" and true gaming overall 2. Do not try to mislead, lie or rob your players 3. Do not use your players as unpaid beta/QA testers/feedback 4. Replace this ridiculous "grind" with actual content and an actual game. Test Drive was never a "grind" no matter how many modern gamers claim it is. 5. Revisit the old TD/TDU games, and build on everything that made them great 6. No trailers, previews or anything until the game is 95% complete, 6 months prior max. No marketing manipulation using "transparency" or "hype" to deliberately mislead your customers 7. Complete the game before you release it
You could argue that TDU has always been a bit on the grindy side. But it never really stood out because you had so many different activities to earn your money with. This made it all feel much more organic and less forced. And that's completely missing in TDU-SC...
@@benn87 Exactly. And frankly I can't believe the word "grind" exists in gaming, much less that it's being accepted and even promoted by modern gamers. It's insane, it's like we're living in the twilight zone or something. Imagine being told to watch a 10 hour movie, and that you have to force yourself through 80% of it which is full of scenes that neither you or anybody enjoys or wants to watch. That would be considered a terrible product in any entertainment medium, at least to anyone with half a functioning brain. If a game feels like your "grinding", it's failed at the most basic thing a game needs to be.
First thing the game needs a better optimization on PS5! I really enjoy playing it but the graphics (reflections and water especially) are really not good enough as compared to PC version. And of course if they could keep expanding Ibiza 🥇
optimization, optimization, optimization, a 3070 on 1440p with dlss (low/med settings) still only gets 57fps with drops, hickups etc. (yes I have done every known 'fix' ) This should be the headliner to fix first after that it would also be nice to add the races towards map progression, driving the same road is annoying.... Furthermore like everyone wants the TDU2 stuff from bikes to houses.
I really hope they can fix the interior mirrors, before the update it had a lot of "lagg" but after the update it is blurry on Xbox Series X, but when you switch too Performance mode, the mirrors are the same before the update. I also hope they fix the shifting animations. Btw... sorry for my English, i am Dutch lol.
you have to turn the mirror off... game is so poorly optimized, even on my $2,500 pc i have to turn my mirrors off and it saves like 20 fps just by doing that... they need to optimize their game a lot more....
My wishlist is that they will finally fix not being able to change appearance or paint color, or that I can put on the paint rewards they give out in the pass, or that putting on the taxi skin wont permanently change my Bentley to another color and make it non reversable. Really like the game but them not fixing this minor stuff even after the season 2 update is making me want to leave.
Nice video Alex, as you said the animations are missing in this Tdu, it's not much but just seeing your character park his car and enter the dealership with the little music in the background like Tdu1 changes everything, and you should also meet a lot more people because I almost never meet anyone, it's sad for a Tdu but the game is going in the right direction that's the main thing Recategorize certain cars and even create new categories to better reorganize car classes like electric cars which have nothing to do in the gasoline car categories (real cars) as well as a new category for old cars And finally I would like a Ferrari 360 Modena, a Lamborghini Murcielago and a Porsche 911 (996) Turbo, 3 legendary beasts from the 2000s. You're forgetting to mention all the UI stuff that can be bettered ? :D (map not easy to read, speedometer not in the center, infos displayed over GPS masquing it, GPS colors blend, car selection menu, friend list at a stupid place (and well not even working for me...) and many more details I'm forgetting here...
Way more cars the car list is too small. More audi's, bmw's, porshe, Mercedes, Golf R/ r32. Extend the ibiza map and the rest of the things mentioned in the video, and we have the BEST game for driving, imho. Pedestrians on sidewalks, more traffic on motorways and better working A.I Traffic in ibiza as transporter vans often can't make the tight turns. Remove the cut gears sound as it spoils the inside view drive and add back the pops from the exhaust especially when the cars been upgraded or just when you redline the car. (Didn't release they've removed the gear sound off most cars because its still on my svj and 812) Rolling anti lag would be a wet dream.
i have a RTX3080 ... i get about 50fps on 5120x1440 ... basically you HAVE TO turn mirrors off and you get about 20 fps from doing that... then turn on DLSS and you will get another 20 fps... i run the game on mix of medium-high .. but you are correct, this game should be run at ultra settings on your card at 60+fps without DLSS .... they just need to optimize the game a lot more.. its unacceptable
I still can't like this game. Not just visually but in general, for a realistic aimed game, this looks like Blur for the PS3.. it's a shame. Not trying to hate randomly, I was excited for this game but doesn't matter how many vids I see about it, I can't visually accept this is a 2024 game
I expect them (for S3) to make the game playable first, like have a dedicated team to work on that while they work on other fixes that are more experience oriented (given that its playable) and then a team for features and QoL while doing that, i want them to add cars lol.... like for me, its all muscle cars, i want to see the rare Cuda or the underrated Eliminator, Falcon, Roadrunners, Firebirds, Superbees, GNXs for example. And not just that, there can be more outside that like the Pantera, some TVRs like the Chimera.... a lot of cool cars basically lol
They're a lot slower then the Lamborghini now 😅 . Already noticed it was more difficult to win with them then the Lamborghini models and some other cars. I never look at the power 🙈

Progress of a task can’t be seen while in free roam and instead you have to navigate to the map to check which is slightly frustrating

The new TDU game will put an end to such problems, no matter how many updates this game gets, it will not be a good game, happy new year to everyone, see you in the new TDU game
They need to correct the idle rpm for almost every car.
1. pc optimazation .... its unacceptable my rtx3090 only gets 30 fps for this game.... you need to fix this and not rely on DLSS to make your game run better
2. interactivity..... houses.. dealerships... more animations... anything
honestly these 2 things are enough for 1 season... the 'networking' you mentioned IS NECESSARY, but its so broken at the moment that im not really 'missing out' on anything if that makes sense.
most importantly though, is to keep open and honest communication with the player base, be honest about what they are working on, and we will keep supporting them.
They need more personal or another studio to help bail them out so they can focus on new content sooner. If another team can bring out missions etc while a big chunk finishes and polishes the game
kind of hard to do when so many players are not buying the game until the features they want get added lol, i honestly think they lost money so far
Here's the way TDU can be saved. And this solution is for legit fans of the franchise and customers who buy the game, not anybody who makes money off the TDU name:
A. Nacon/KT cease development, hand over the TDU name/franchise to another dev who is competent, and from there - -
1. Do not build your new TDU game to be online-only, push season passes, live-services, 5-year plans, etc. That is the opposite of "TD/TDU DNA" and true gaming overall
2. Do not try to mislead, lie or rob your players
3. Do not use your players as unpaid beta/QA testers/feedback
4. Replace this ridiculous "grind" with actual content and an actual game. Test Drive was never a "grind" no matter how many modern gamers claim it is.
5. Revisit the old TD/TDU games, and build on everything that made them great
6. No trailers, previews or anything until the game is 95% complete, 6 months prior max. No marketing manipulation using "transparency" or "hype" to deliberately mislead your customers
7. Complete the game before you release it
You could argue that TDU has always been a bit on the grindy side. But it never really stood out because you had so many different activities to earn your money with. This made it all feel much more organic and less forced. And that's completely missing in TDU-SC...
@@benn87 Exactly. And frankly I can't believe the word "grind" exists in gaming, much less that it's being accepted and even promoted by modern gamers. It's insane, it's like we're living in the twilight zone or something. Imagine being told to watch a 10 hour movie, and that you have to force yourself through 80% of it which is full of scenes that neither you or anybody enjoys or wants to watch. That would be considered a terrible product in any entertainment medium, at least to anyone with half a functioning brain. If a game feels like your "grinding", it's failed at the most basic thing a game needs to be.
First thing the game needs a better optimization on PS5! I really enjoy playing it but the graphics (reflections and water especially) are really not good enough as compared to PC version.
And of course if they could keep expanding Ibiza 🥇
Also Custom Challenges from the first 2 games, (You place checkpoints at any map to race and you share with friends to complete)
optimization, optimization, optimization, a 3070 on 1440p with dlss (low/med settings) still only gets 57fps with drops, hickups etc. (yes I have done every known 'fix' ) This should be the headliner to fix first after that it would also be nice to add the races towards map progression, driving the same road is annoying....
Furthermore like everyone wants the TDU2 stuff from bikes to houses.
I really hope they can fix the interior mirrors, before the update it had a lot of "lagg" but after the update it is blurry on Xbox Series X, but when you switch too Performance mode, the mirrors are the same before the update. I also hope they fix the shifting animations.

you have to turn the mirror off... game is so poorly optimized, even on my $2,500 pc i have to turn my mirrors off and it saves like 20 fps just by doing that... they need to optimize their game a lot more....
My wishlist is that they will finally fix not being able to change appearance or paint color, or that I can put on the paint rewards they give out in the pass, or that putting on the taxi skin wont permanently change my Bentley to another color and make it non reversable. Really like the game but them not fixing this minor stuff even after the season 2 update is making me want to leave.

Nice video Alex, as you said the animations are missing in this Tdu, it's not much but just seeing your character park his car and enter the dealership with the little music in the background like Tdu1 changes everything, and you should also meet a lot more people because I almost never meet anyone, it's sad for a Tdu but the game is going in the right direction that's the main thing
Recategorize certain cars and even create new categories to better reorganize car classes like electric cars which have nothing to do in the gasoline car categories (real cars) as well as a new category for old cars
And finally I would like a Ferrari 360 Modena, a Lamborghini Murcielago and a Porsche 911 (996) Turbo, 3 legendary beasts from the 2000s.

You're forgetting to mention all the UI stuff that can be bettered ? :D (map not easy to read, speedometer not in the center, infos displayed over GPS masquing it, GPS colors blend, car selection menu, friend list at a stupid place (and well not even working for me...) and many more details I'm forgetting here...
Way more cars the car list is too small. More audi's, bmw's, porshe, Mercedes, Golf R/ r32. Extend the ibiza map and the rest of the things mentioned in the video, and we have the BEST game for driving, imho.
Pedestrians on sidewalks, more traffic on motorways and better working A.I Traffic in ibiza as transporter vans often can't make the tight turns.
Remove the cut gears sound as it spoils the inside view drive and add back the pops from the exhaust especially when the cars been upgraded or just when you redline the car. (Didn't release they've removed the gear sound off most cars because its still on my svj and 812)
Rolling anti lag would be a wet dream.

i have a RTX3080 ... i get about 50fps on 5120x1440 ... basically you HAVE TO turn mirrors off and you get about 20 fps from doing that... then turn on DLSS and you will get another 20 fps... i run the game on mix of medium-high .. but you are correct, this game should be run at ultra settings on your card at 60+fps without DLSS .... they just need to optimize the game a lot more.. its unacceptable
Season three road map on how to disappoint everyone
I still can't like this game. Not just visually but in general, for a realistic aimed game, this looks like Blur for the PS3.. it's a shame. Not trying to hate randomly, I was excited for this game but doesn't matter how many vids I see about it, I can't visually accept this is a 2024 game

I expect them (for S3) to make the game playable first, like have a dedicated team to work on that while they work on other fixes that are more experience oriented (given that its playable) and then a team for features and QoL
while doing that, i want them to add cars lol....
like for me, its all muscle cars, i want to see the rare Cuda or the underrated Eliminator, Falcon, Roadrunners, Firebirds, Superbees, GNXs for example. And not just that, there can be more outside that like the Pantera, some TVRs like the Chimera.... a lot of cool cars basically lol

They're a lot slower then the Lamborghini now 😅 . Already noticed it was more difficult to win with them then the Lamborghini models and some other cars. I never look at the power 🙈
