Yagoo is equally proud of every milestone the talents achieve. Someone hitting 300k is the same as someone hitting a million, both are very special and a result of hard work.
That's the best move since not everyone is having equal opportunity to explosive subscriber growth and we all know the age old saying of "comparison is the thief of joy"
I consider them a legend if they can even reach 1 million.

It’s kinda weird to think how many people have benefitted in some way from the disaster year that was 2020…
People from the West were initially worried that they would be like the cam girls you'd see on Twitch for those that have any idea what that's like.
It would pollute their beautiful anime environment.
But all of the girls were talented, have charisma and each bring something different to the viewer.
Kiaras first year was rough.
But she grew and found her self.
Having the anime girl that spoke English in real time was probably first done by myth.
That also likely played into their massive success.
I had no idea what vtubers was until about 6 months ago watching a random streamer who was making fun of lost world and the bugs it had. He was a Vtuber fan and he was watching Miko. It was entertaining then thats when I went down the rabbit hole and found out there was a EN side of hololive. Gura was my first EN vtuber then from there I just subscribed to them all. Each one is fun to watch even leading to Sana's graduation. I like to watch them all but I think my favorite is Ina. I really love her art. I have always wanted to draw like that and I will never forget her "Tomorrow". Plus added bonus the fact she laughs at puns has me laughing.

Couldn't be more proud of Gura. I was watching Hololive EN basically from the beginning, and no one could've guessed how popular they all would become. And it's totally deserved.
In fact, there's a pretty large group of skeptics who didn't think they would become popular at all... xD Me personally, I like to think I kept myself "healthily skeptical". I didn't actively talk shit pre-debut, but I did have my concerns. But I think it was after Myth's debut that I just decided that I would now blindly trust whoever chooses the talents for Hololive, cuz they haven't missed yet, like, holy shit the line-up they have at this point.

When I think of Gura, I think of a little bundle of laughter that pranks her friends and makes a fool of herself often. It's easy to forget she the number 1 most popular vtuber, but I think that's part of the reason why she's so beloved. Even with over 4mil subscribers, she's just as goofy and sweet.

Her fanbase has to do with a massive population, sure there are way more fans than those who subscribed them but not all for JP branch did due to their language barriers.
Gura on the other hand that she was just acting like a cute shark and spoken English which understandably why she being massively subscribed.
There's also the old fanbase came rushing into her channel. Then you add the American rural accent and done.
Gura is that weird combination of traits where pretty much anyone can find something to like. Cute, good singer with more traditional taste in music, trouble magnet, sometimes childish, sometimes very real and mature, "cultured" but also surprisingly wholesome at times, very expressive, down-to-earth with relatable everyday struggles - all of it falling into place naturally.
Yagoo landed a lucky hit with her. You can't plan for that even if you're specifically looking for it.

Not to take anything away from the other members but I feel like Gura personally brought so many people into the vtuber rabbit hole. I started seeing clips of her on tiktok and that’s how I started. Now Kronii and Fauna are my two main oshis

I do love that the Myth girls exploded at their debutes and never stopped growing. They as a group were the first to reach 1mill+ subs are a group/generation. There were offcourse individuals that managed to do this, first that comes to mind is Coco, but an entire generation to reach 1mill+ subs each was something they never achieved before.
Coco was the first of Gen 4 to get to a million, but was tenth overall in HoloPro, but Korone was first in JP to get to a million in general (after Gura), then in order: Fubuki, Pekora, Aqua, Marine, Calli, Ame, Haachama, Coco, Rushia, etc.

Gura said she has been taking a Japanese class and she has improved a fair amount recently, Watch her Rust clips with the JP holomem and you can hear her trying out phrases. She seems to have improved from being equal to Miko level english to getting closer to Pekora level.

Gura's Japanese is basically non-existent outside of a few phrases. Ina's is surprisingly good, I'd heard she could speak it but her collab streams was usually her just doing HUMU HUMU and sucking air through her teeth. Really impressed with her in these interviews.
I don't know anything about Bae but people say her Japanese is the best? Kinda surprising since I'd say that goes to Kiara, but what do I know.

honestly, i mostly watch Nijisanji streams and clips, i'm not into Hololive that much yet i still consider myself as a shrimp. My feed is full of nijisanji EN's and Gura clips. i don't know about other holomem but Gura is definitely an amazing entertainer.

Yeah less peak viewers but look carefully at her archived VODs, it peaked at 300k to 600k or more than that, just like Pekora's. Due to timezone issues, people have no time to watch her often, mostly they have work, school, etc, and they have time to watch it after, so it's still fair tho
