A Snowy Night in Paris: A Soothing Sleep Story to Calm Mind and Body
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 28 сен 2024
- In this non-guided sleep story, we embark on a beautiful journey to Paris on a snowy night - following the lives of 3 people who work at night while everyone else is sleeping.
As the silence of the night falls and almost everyone is asleep in the snowy and sleepy surroundings of Paris, some others are awake because they are following their profession. In this sleep story for adults, you will be accompanying 3 people in their work - yourself however can allow yourself to fully relax while listening about their professions. This sleep story is not from the "you" form, like the many others I have recorded here - instead, you are here a silent observer. This different style may allow you to relax and fall asleep even better. 😴

I was born in Paris, lived there during my studies, I'm French and your story makes me feel so comfy and cozy, I feel connected to you and your night workers. An embrace to people who are commenting ❤
Wonderful! I used to live in France so it’s very special to me too. Thanks for saying hi 🙏🏻
Hello , I am a nurse and mother of three this is a wonderful way to relax and take care of myself. I listen to your stories at my break in the hospital and at night after a long stressful day. Thank you from Louisiana

Hi
I have listened to so many of his stories, and I can't tell you anything about them because I fall asleep right after the wind downs. Occasionally, I wake during the stories, but I fall back asleep immediately.
Without them, though, I will just toss and turn and look at the clock.
Thank you, Stephen, for being such a blessing.
I found you about 2 months ago when I woke in the night and couldn't get a workplace issue out of my head. I found this story first and it was perfect! I really enjoyed hearing about the lives of these 3 people in Paris. You're now my go-to, every night whether I need your help to let go or to forget, or not. I enjoy your calming voice, the way you settle me into mindfulness in a relaxing restful position easily taking my mind away from any worries, and your reassurance of safety no matter what context the story is set in. I fall asleep before the end of each story since that first listening. Often I repeat the a story from a different starting position to hear more. Thank you so much Stephen. Helen, from Australia
Thank you very much Stephen for the work you do! I'd been sleeping badly for the past few weeks, then I listened to your story just yesterday, fell asleep after first 15 minutes and slept like a baby! Your voice worked like a magic, plus the music and the story itself, amazing! You've found another subscriber :) Best wishes from the Czech Republic!
You're very welcome
I never knew I needed it this much, until I gave it a try. Glad I found this video.
These stories are very helpful for sleeping...Can you imagine I am typing this comment while sleeping...
Hahahahaaaaa.. ; )
A true sleep whisperer! Thank you so much for your work, and your time , that you've invested into this much needed relief and tonic for so many people. Yours is truly a great talent and an art form.
Only thing...I never get to the middle or the end of the story...😴❤ must be wizardry!😄❤
You are so welcome!
You are so welcome!
I have listened to this 5 times now. Still don't know how many people we meet, lol. I'm well asleep after 2. Thank you, wonderful!
Wonderful!
I feel good watching your video😭.
I took care of my parents with dementia.
Fifteen years ago, both parents suffered from dementia and Parkinson's disease
After that, he quit his job and had to take care of both of them by cleaning up urine and poop at the same time for a long time.
I am also a survivor of a violent family.
My father was violent, and my mother and I survived.
Last year, two of you died three months apart, and I was very stressed out.
After my parents passed away, all I had left was a sick body and heart.
I had a brain aneurysm and I still have two brain aneurysms in my head.
We also have other vascular diseases.
Anxiety that you don't know when and where it's going to explode.
I suddenly gained 15kg due to liver function, kidney function, and hypothyroidism, but it's hard to walk and move.
And I'm still treating depression, anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and insomnia.
I got a job, but I quit because my health deteriorated, but the price has gone up so much that I'm at a loss.
I still can't control a lot of emotions in my mind.
I am in treatment and physically and mentally ill condition, but the path I walked is weak, but I want to share and communicate because I want to help, and I feel encouraged and encouraged to start RUclips.
I want to be healthy now.
I want to stand alone healthy and free.
I'm looking for myself.
I don't even know who I am.
The center of my world has been my parents until now.
My parents are dead, so they're looking for me.
It's only now that I feel sad and hurt.
My father was confident until his death and did everything for my children, but I was only hurt.
I'm particularly sensitive to violence and sound. I think lethargy is the biggest problem. It hurts.
I always wore a mask because I wanted to see it hard. After my parents died, my mask came off.
There's a weak me.
I'm crumbling and floundering.
I wish you peace. I’m sorry that things are so difficult for you at the moment. 🙏🏻
These stories are healing for me, also an orphan now😢❤
I, as an only child, also cared for my parents in their final years. Especially mom, as my parents divorced, and they lived in different communities. Dad’s 2nd wife put him in a nursing home. Still, as if tru a “calling”, first mom passed, aged 93. Three weeks later my dad passed-one week away from his 98th birthday. I played the music of his day and songs he and mom used to dance to while sitting next to his hospital bed the last 3 days he spent in “comfort care”. Although he wasn’t able to speak at that point, the music and my presence still brought a little smile.
Two years later, my husband transitioned. Finally…lastly, my sweetheart Mr.Paul Bidwell, the most amazing person and a record holder in The Scottish Games of America (56 lb.weight toss, and Caber Toss Champion) many years ago…took the last of my heart with his passing 2 1/2 years ago. I went to bed, exhausted, depressed, and depleted . I had/have heart rhythm issues and degenerative osteoarthritis. However, recently I’ve decided that I, as an uplifter and bridge builder, could learn to live again.
You may decide to do that too. Take all the time you need. Listen to these sleep stories…try to spend time outside getting some sunshine ☀️…keep a glass bottle of fresh pure water on the table to remind you to hydrate. Listen to beautiful music…listen to music that is primarily in major rather than minor keys. Best to avoid very loud/harsh/negative noise and “music”…have fun…in good ways. I have 2 kitties, Oda and Liam, I love so dearly. Pets can be so special and helpful to our mental and emotional health. If you’re not up to providing the care and upkeep for a pet of your own, how about volunteer work at the animal rescue shelter. Volunteering is a good way to help get involved with helping others…it boomerangs backatcha 😊🪃
If you can’t find good people (kind, compassionate, caring, thoughtful, etc.) to be around, then enjoy the beauty found in nature…walks in the park or in the woodlands can be enriching for your soul. How bout visiting the zoo? Museums are very interesting. Maybe call your local volunteer center to see if they have a wheelchair you could use to prevent excess stress on your physical body …if you think you need that option.
I wouldn’t hesitate to avoid watching/listening to the news. Don’t worry…it’ll go on without us…lol…and will still be there, should you miss it 😉
Breathe deeply and slowly…not shallow breaths, but belly breaths…this can begin to calm your vagus nerve. Then you may feel ready to do some regular meditations. You could discuss this and the other things above with your health care providers.
I hope that something here resonates with you. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other…but also know that taking a break is good too.
So I’m wishing you a peaceful evening, beautiful sleep stories, and good dreams…😊 Here’s to you …🥂🍪🥛…a warm glass of honey milk & your favorite cookie!
I just wanna say thank you so much Stephan for your videos. I love love love them. May you be abundantly blessed ❤️🌹
And you as well. I'm happy you love my work! Stephen :)
This narrative appeals the most to me. I visualize each character and feel close to
Them. I attend to what they are doing walking along with. I like Jean Pierre. I read the other comments to make sure I hadn't missed anything. I am fading now but makes me want croissant
This helped me sleep so much when I wasn’t able to sleep
I loved this story although I have no idea how it ends😴😴😴❤
Listened to this twice now. I never get to hear the full story because I’m asleep at 15:41 mark. 😊
The same here! 15 minutes and that's it! Wonderful how Stephen's voice works, isn't it? :)
This is my favourite! Works every time💤💤💤
I love to listen to it as well 😂 And I wrote it 😊

It comes across within this story, its special- it brings forward a place we visited, lived or yearn to visit one day from the back of our minds & we are right there right now.
This is one of my favorites 😍 It reminds me of my trip to Portugal.

I wish I could tell you that I enjoy your sleep stories. Unfortunately I can’t, as I don’t ever get the chance to hear them. I’m usually asleep within 10 minutes! Thank you Stephen!!

Gentle sound effects are lovely. Just a thought ... for some reason, I'm finding the musical notes too repetitive till right before Marie at the Louvre.
Hi Kathleen, yes it’s a short piece of music that I looped. I am moving away from using pieces like this because I understand they can become repetitive, I just loved the music and it worked well for the story. Thanks for the feedback 🙏🏻

I have Irish and scottish roots. The surname Dalton is my great grandfather's middle name. We may be related, lol

Stories great, reading is great, the repetitive music over and over and over behind it is a big no. But beautiful reading.

Hi Claudia, This is something I have been planning on doing and now thanks to your lovely comment, I now have a Patreon page!! I hope that it will grow on there and I'll share things like behind the scenes content and we can create a nice little community! Stephen :) Here is the link. patreon.com/user?u=89771957

Could you guys do other cities/countries like this? I.E. London, Tokyo, New York, Queensland...?
Tokyo story just released last night. More narrative stories coming soon too 👍🏻
With script too
RUclips does not offer a timer, where??
This would make a great film. Permission to make it? 😂
I fell asleep before the story started lol!!! This is great!
Great!
Your name is Steffen.
Lovely idea for a story but the music (with the repetitive four bars) was too invasive for me.
Hi Valerie. Thank you for your feedback. I am now moving away from music like that, but I completely understand what you mean. If you listen to lots of my other stories you will hear less repetitive music, and soon there will be one coming with no music at all. Thanks again! Stephen
I only heard the music, not listening your voice
I enjoyed this but would prefer the music to be quieter
I got two people into the story before falling asleep, but I woke up wanting one of Jean Pierre’s pastries this morning! 🥐 😂
If your reading the comments don’t forget to like the video so we can continue getting these videos 💙
I played this for my restless newborn baby and myself and we woke up after 41 minutes when the phone rang 😂we were both gone and we didn’t know ❤… this is my helper when it comes to making my baby sleep
This is wonderful 🙏🏻
Hello Stephen, I had never heard one of your sleep stories, but I felt transported! I'm 76 and have been bedridden in a nursing home since 2017. For over 55 years, I've been a professional artist with my paintings in several Museums. When I was 5 years old we lived in a flat, up some stairs, across the street from the Rodin Museum in Paris! I had a stretchy crocheted bag and used to go to the little shops and bakeries around the corner from there, for bagettes, fresh fruit, cheese, and wine, alone with my little shopping bag, I have been back to Paris a few times, and know the Louvre well. And have always loved the the top of the Eiffel Tower, I was truly transported, it was amazing. I like the "silent observer" style, and the affirmations at the end. Unfortunately I was woken up at 10 pm for medications, but I'm going to listen to another story in a few minutes, I just wanted to tell you how amazing and personal your story was for me. My father and I used to paint together (in oils) around Paris. So you could almost say I've been a professional artist since I was 5. I used to sell my little paintings to tourists, and buy escargot at a little sidewalk cafe, as a special treat...I opened my first art gallery in San Francisco when I was only 19.
I'm currently living with Intractable pain, from damage to my spine, plus I have a kidney infection and several very large kidney stones. My pain was at a "9" for 3 days, almost called 911, to go to the ER, but that was too scary. I'm going into a very risky surgery August 5th, possibly a series of risky surgeries. I haven't been able to think of anything else. And my 52 year old daughter stole and sold everything I have ever owned and fled the USA, when I was hospitalized, caused me to lose my lovely 1913 home. I am all alone and have no money to send you, but hopefully this review will touch you. You are incredible! I loved your soft voice and reminding me I am safe. I've been so frightened and in so much pain, this is a terrible nursing home, they won't let me use a very safe heating pad to soothe the stabbing pain and won't even give me antibiotics. But your soothing words were truly amazing, you are a genuine artist and healer! My pain level has gone from a "9' to a "5" being transported to such a happy time in my youth.
Thank you, so very much!
With love,
Susan (in Seattle)
Hi Susan, your comment not only touched me, it made me cry. I am so happy that you have written. You reminded me so clearly why I do this work. It is for healing and to help people feel peace in a world that can sometimes be difficult to navigate. I am sorry for what you have been through. I would love to hear more about your time in Paris as a little girl. Perhaps I could write a sleep story about it?? Please feel free to send more details if you think you would like this idea. Also, I did make a story about the musee Rodin a while ago. I’ll link it below. And there are many more Paris stories. Let me know if you’d like the links. I wish you peace Susan and all the best with your surgeries. Life can be tough, but there is always someone out there who cares. I promise 🙏🏻🙏🏻😊❤️

@@Stephen_Dalton Thank you for your wonderful reply, I'm so glad I was able to touch you on a level that you have touched me. You have a magical gift and an amazingly comforting voice, you are a true healer. I'm so glad I found you at a time when I needed you so much, but didn't even know you existed. It's was magical.. when I heard the words Rodin Museum, I almost cried. I was truely overwhelmed, as a warm blanket of love and compassion covered me and made me feel safe for the first time, in a very long time. I live in a terrible nursing home where I am mocked when I tell a nurse I'm in unberable pain, and they geer back at me, "YOU'RE ALWAYS IN PAIN!" almost shouting at me, and never showing any compassion.
I was so thrilled to find your reply, I was so thrilled to feel your genuine compassion, I'm going to listen to the Rodin Museum story, thank you for sending it. Thank you for being the loving caring person you are. With love, Susan. (It's around 2 in the afternoon, but in a nursing home you try to sleep whenever you can, I can't wait to be transported to Paris, again.)♥🎨♥

Hi Susan, not that I have to do anything with this video or your conversation, except for that I genuinely appreciate both. Any person reading your comment will be moved to tears hearing your story. You are an incredibly strong woman and to take out time to write and so beautifully appreciate someone for their work makes you a little more human than the rest of us. I wish you good health and many more happy years to come. Get well soon and do comment so we know how the surgeries went. So much love and respect for you
Hearing your story brings so much perspective to my existence on this planet.
I am trying to complain as little as possible and live meaningfully because now I understand that life can get difficult for each one of us. It is best to find solace in where we are and what we have achieved.
Sorry to hear that your daughter didn't support you when you needed it the most. Sometimes people get too selfish. 😔
Sending you love and compassion. Stay strong.🙏

Wow, Stephen! Your storytelling is truly captivating, and this snowy night in Paris has brought me so much peace.🌨✨ It's fascinating to explore the lives of these three night workers and see the city from their perspective. I felt like a silent observer, transported to a tranquil winter wonderland. Your voice and sound design are absolutely enchanting, making it easy to drift off into a restful sleep. 😴💤 Thank you for the amazing content you create, and I can't wait to see what other journeys you'll take us on! 🌍🌟
Thank you too and there are so many more to come 😊
this video has always been special to me, and it’s one that i’ve always played after i’ve gone through really hard moments and have had trouble calming down to sleep. thank you so much for these stories, they make me feel so safe:)
I am offering croissants and coffee ❤
Dear Stephen, I just found you a couple of days ago and listen every night. Your sleep stories are magic. I like the fact that you take a couple of minutes to relax our body and mind. I just love the sound effects. I have no idea how you do it but I just see the images in my head.
I was thinking about a story wandering in and around Trinity college and it's library. And now I see you are from Dublin! And you already have a story about a library already so I will listen to it tonight, I'm already looking forward to it.
Anyway, this weekend I will be visiting Dun Laoghaire and I hope I will be fit enough to visit Trinity college myself.
Thank you for these stories, they really help me falling asleep with nice images in stead of worries in my mind
Hi Heidi, That's amazing. Say hello to Dublin for me. You should go for a swim in the sea at the Forty Foot. I'm happy to help your sleep life and enjoy the library story! Stephen :)
@@Stephen_Dalton I would love to do that, no fear for cold water but I'm slightly impaired so impossible for me to get in and out of the water. I will go and watch anyway. Or find some strong men to help me 🤣
Amalia here. Just skipped through to get a gist. This sounds so beautiful, already I feel emotional as the little I have heard took me right back to my travelling days. I could almost smell and taste the freshly made croissants and see the Tour Eiffel in my mind's eye. I shall look forward to listening to the whole thing as the last part of my (disturbed) sleep. Your delivery is fantastic, what a relaxing sleepy and calming voice. Thank you. 🙏
Amalia, thank you so much for your great comment! I am glad you like the story and that it helps with your sleep. 💫
@@Stephen_Dalton 🙂
@@sergiograssi4821 my love and i were in Paris in 2015. We went to the top most part of the Eiffel Tower, we ran to the Soufflé restaurant in the rain to get there 2 minutes before they closed, we had Christmas dinner at an odd little restaurant that had only 10-12 other persons that night, it was the most different Christmas we ever had. We started our visit in Paris in a room that had just enough room to turn around but yet it was also cozy and sophisticated. Every day we had pastries and coffee. We had already been together for a decade but it was a way to start all over again. We went to almost every arrondissement and then traveled south to the côte’ d’azur where it was an entirely fresh experience, like being born again into yet another reality. It’s not just that we can never return to that exact time and experience but also that we ourselves are there still, a part of us that I miss greatly, a part of our ‘coupleness’ that no matter what cannot be retrieved other than just a tad through our memories. In this moment I am lying in bed ready for sleep as I listen to this story, I am only slightly hearing the words, my thoughts are with my love. And although we are just two rooms apart in this moment and just kissed one another deeply, I miss that which will never occur again. I am not selfish or simply longing or ungrateful for the love we have now, better than ever, it’s simply that I miss the us from that specialness that we lived once and will never live again. ~Todd
@@ToddDouglasFox Wow Todd. What a story you paint. You took me with you back to that beautiful memory, albeit for a brief second. You painted such a picture I couldn't help but be there, observing and feeling that special moment with you. Paris, what a place to have experienced and in such a way. A fulfilling base on which to solidify what sounds like an equally beautiful relationship. Forgive me if I have just a fleeting sense of envy. I too wish to find a love like this one day. Sending you and your love the strongest and happiest of vibes for many wonderful times together going forward. Amalia. 🙏💙
