Very informative, Dr. I'm getting double eyelid surgery in a month and your videos are a big help in understanding the procedure more clearly. Thank you!
You're welcome, Penny Pincher! Glad you find the videos helpful! I make them so people like you can make better, more informed decisions about cosmetic procedures.
I have to agree. I am southeast asian. I have naturally deep and high eyelid crease just like u dr prasad. However, i always think oriental eyes like those korean celebs are beautiful and wanted to achieve that look. So i went to see a general plastic surgeon to lower my crease and make it very superficial. My surgeon did not remove any skin as he afraid i might regret later. 3 years later now, the eyelids was so heavy because of the thick “excess” skin. I also develop mild ptosis over the years due to the heaviness. Went to see ophtalmologist specializing in occuloplastic surgery now. I am now post op day 2 of returning back my old natural crease with ptosis correction. This is an example of the impotance to understand the limit of changing someone looks on plastic surgery.
Hi @nyatio , It's nice to see your understanding of the concept. I actually did make a recent video about why people can't just get á celebrity's eyes with surgery - ruclips.net/video/2crtOO9Qry0/видео.html
Hi Ren Leah, That is true, but double eyelids only occur in about 50% of people in other Asian nationalities like Chinese, Korean, and Japanese, which is why Asian double eyelid surgery is so popular in those countries. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi Gadipudi Padmaja, Sorry, I can't recommend the best treatment for you without examining your face and skin first. There are many treatments available for both those issues, but cosmetic medicine is almost never a one-size-fits-all approach, but rather customization for the individual. I hope this helps you.
Hi meren jamir, I don't know the details of your surgery, but normally at least 6 months is needed before a revision. You can refer to this video about it - ruclips.net/video/qTgL6KcwcxA/видео.html
Hi Lam Y, In some cases, the activity of the orbicularis oculi muscle can be reduced with a treatment like Botox, but we don't reduce the amount of muscle surgically. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi aloe vera, Swelling may persist longer if you don't use cold compresses. Scarring is more dependent on how your surgery was performed, and whether or not you interfere with healing by touching the area, or applying ointment without proper sterility. I hope this clarifies things for you.

Hi doctor, I have asymmetrical eyes with small double eyelids and some excess skin. I wish to have double eyelid surgery with epicanthoplasty. However, I noticed that when I sleep, my eyes don’t close completely. Is it possible for me to get the surgery done without complications? Thank you
Hi Ella Popita, To reduce the risk of complications, it is important you seek an eyelid specialist who performs lot of double eyelid surgeries and epicanthoplasties. An oculoplastic/oculofacial surgeon like myself do specialize in cosmetic eyelid surgeries, as well as eyelid reconstruction surgeries where a skin shortage may prevent the eyes from completely closing during sleep. I hope this helps you.
Hi, An eyelid crease makes the eyes look bigger, but it's really a personal preference, like any cosmetic procedure. I hope this clarifies things for you.
You just cleared all my doubts and questions. Beautifully explained. Thank you.

Loved your explanation...... Can the orbicularis oculi of the eye be reduced

what if the patient didn't ice for 2 days after surgery. Does it worsen the healing process or affect scarring?

Don't get why having a crease is so sought after, surely having no crease should be the ideal look?
