Hi. I want to lose weight with fasting. What and how much can I eat after 2 to 3 days fasting? Should I eat 1 meal and then start fasting again. What do do after the 3 day fasting
Fasting for more than 12 hours slows your metabolism and accelerates muscle loss. The exact opposite of what you're trying to accomplish. Funny that these "experts" don't mention that.
I like to do it for a whole weekend. My last meal is Friday night and my next meal is Monday morning. I make sure that the kitchen is super clean on Friday night and then I enjoy the fact that my kitchen never gets dirty for the entire weekend!
Very impressed by the amount of information that you're giving out. Very well organized and explained. It's no wonder you have almost 6 million subscribers!
I've been fasting for 48 hours, having a small meal and then fasting another 48.. I do actually feel pretty good and it's become easier and easier to get over the small moments of hunger.
@Vessel of Light I've been doing this for about 2 and a half months and I've dropped 20 lbs so far. I haven't really been exercising, so that might help even more..
I'm 3 hours away from completing Day 4 of my 1st ever 5 Day Fast. My mood is improved, little to NO body inflammation and the hunger withdrawals (2 hours past Day 3) became reduced.
😧 Wow… hats 🎩 🧢 👒 off to you, buddy. First ever fast and you went for the 5 days. 🫡 First time i did it, i went for 2 days then the following week, 3. The first time i did the 5 day fast, it was strenuous, man. 👊🏾😁 Good job.
@@Hectorheroic I ate nothing and drank nothing except water and electrolyte water....zero calories for 5 days. During a fast you don't eat anything or drink anything unless it contain zero calories.
@@romahnae It's not something I plan to do often...but I'll give it another go around during Spring or Summer. In the meantime I'll stick with the 16 hour to 2 or 3 day fast...and YES....it was quite daunting. 😝 P.S.: I worked my way towards doing the 5 Day fast. My previous fast was 2 Days.
Just in the first 1min of this video you have given a very easy understanding crashcorse that others took 20mins to explain. This video is very well made and fast pace to keep you engaged. Keep it up! Love it!
I fully agree. It basically explains the whole digestion & how nutrition works. Very easy to understand if your not fallen on your head and enjoyed a solid education. Love it!
Many people can't just jump into fasting alone you need to train your body gradually with intermittent fasting two small meals a day gradually work into one meal a day and then after that your body will get used to not eating and you can exercise and prolong your fasting afterwards it does take some time for your body to get used to it. 🙌🏼
I am down to two meals a day for about 10 months now, 7pm meal, then a 1pm meal the next day 18 hours no food and perfectly fine. Most of the time have no roaring appetite even after 18hr mark. I do eat beans and rice type meals with veggies. With small amounts of egg/meats every few days.
I’m close to 54h on my first road to 72h water fast. Tbh I feel my stomach empty but rather than that, my cognitive function has improved, I’m full of energy and my vision has improved as well. I can’t say something decisive yet, but it really feels like I’m giving time and space for my body to heal itself and regulate everything that’s needed.
That's awesome! I've done 72hrs a few times before, also with some added low pace cardio. You feel great! I tried to push to 96hrs once.... I ended up waking up at like 3am shaking, my blood sugar must have been super low at that point, so I just went downstairs and ate some bread and eggs. About to do 72hr fast this coming friday. And it really helps with joint pain too. I injured my knee a while back, so I couldnt really walk for long without it starting to hurt. After a few 72hr fasts, the pain is gone! I walk 4-5 miles almost every night now, zero pain.
I fasted for 5 months no snacks, first meal 1pm last meal 6pm for 5months, from 110kg to 85kg people where complaining thought I was sick but that has been the healthiest I have ever been. My goal is 80kg then start lifting weights fasting works
The longer fasting period I’ve done has been of 60 hours for 2 times, the last was one week ago to “clean a bit my body” in the middle of my bulking phase (at 3600 kcals per day, I’m a well trained person of 73 kg and 177cm) and both times I feel very good and with no hunger (a part from the little span between the 12 and the 14 hours after I started). In the past I’ve tried fasting for 24 or 48 hours and I have had the same sensations of no hungry a part from that little span between the 12 and the 14 hours, and also I have done during my definition phase the intermittent fasting 16-8 for 4 months from April to July without any problems. I really recommend intermittent fasting to everyone who wants to lose weight easier, especially considering all the benefits this method has on our body!
First fast is tough. It gets easier. Protip is definitely to be doing low carb / keto for the day or days before. 15 years of fasting, I don't feel hunger the same way, at all. I have an awareness that I could eat, but no urgency.
Wooooow I am in a 3 month challenge and I have to lose 20kg I will do this 3 days challenge along with intermittent fasting. Wish me luck. My current weight is 104kg and my goal is 85kg I will exercise in between.
I lost 40 kilos in a little over 5 months with OMAD (one meal a day) When i did eat, i ate a diet low in carbs, (20g) but otherwise no calorie couting or feelings of hunger once my body had got over the 'Pavlov's dog' stage. This weight loss was several years ago, but here is the wonderful thing; I have never put on an ounce of weight since !! ... .I still eat OMAD, but if i want to spoil myself on weekends or special occasions I do so. If i want wine or a dessert I have some....but, my body has 24 hours to rid itself of my indulgence and then return to its primary functions. The really cool thing is, one tends to lose cravings for sweetness and stodge, anyway.. Apart from all of the excellent informative biological advice you have given here... it seems to me, this fasting business quite simple. It returns the body to its natural function of repair and rejeuvination.., doing what nature intended, and is equipped to deal with,by not having to divert all of its attentions to digestion. Before I found this FREE solution to my weight and woes, I had terrible eczema, couldn't sleep, and chronic pain which the doctors put down to 'old age' and offered me all sorts of drugs, the side effects being worse than the complaints. I am 76, and now have neither pain, eczema, insomnia OR a doctor. The medical profession is still pushing the five fruits and vegetables, three meals a day and two snacks mantra from the scientifically erroneous and misleading 'Food Pyramid' which in my opinion, coincides and is the cause of the rise in illness and obesity since it was launched upon an unsuspecting public... .
Insulin lets energy into the cell. Excess intracellular fat blocks insulin, causing insulin resistance and high blood sugar. Fasting burns the intracellular fat first, and thus increase insulin sensitivity.
I did a 3 day fast before - lost around 6-7 lbs and my eyesight improved noticeably by the third day. When I started eating again, I quickly gained the weight back and my eyesight went back to how it normally is. I normally do 16/8 fasting, and occasionally a 24 hour fast here and there, usually just eating one meal a day when I do that.
I was going to ask the same. You have to eat well when you do eat. No man made processed garbage, no sugar, no carbs. Meat, animal fat, low carb veggies is the way to go. No crap “keto” food that comes with an expiration date.
people don't realize that the eyes are a muscle more than anything else. For decades I have felt this and recently someone proved my theory. My sight got a bit blurry after being under fluorescent lights for extended periods of time, so I would go outside and focus on objects close then far away. I would concentrate on what I was looking at and when I could see it better I would switch back and forth. If you are experiencing possible cataract build up no worries, I got that beat too. My mom got rid of hers by dropping castor oil in her eyes every night before she went to sleep. It took a couple years, but her eyes looked like brand new again. It's not permanent, but if you stay on top of it you won't have any issues. Hope this info helps, good luck .
Day 3. crippling muscle cramps. Added salt. Felt extremely angry yesterday, but I feel that way anyway. Spiritually depleted and suicidal has been the norm lately so why not drop off the edge and fast. I guess we will wait and see. I'm not hungry. Stomach is upset.
I’m a 41yo male and I just broke a 48hr fast with broth and avocado iceberg lettuce salad. About to go another couple 24hr fasts and hit a 3 day at the end of the week again. Taking drastic measures to combat pre-diabetes. Finally after 48hr fast my glucose levels are in the 80s and ketones at between 1.5 and 2.3. After 24hrs my life changed. I honestly feel like I’m living again. Yeah I miss eating some foods, but I feel so much better and I KNOW I’m reversing damage to my body and recomposing it to a much healthier form.
My 33 year old son just finished a 5 day fast. This has given me some inspiration to try at least a 1 or 2 day fast to start out. Also I've been diagnosed with non alcoholic fatty liver, and was wondering if fasting would be beneficial in reversing this condition. It seems as though it would. Great vid very informative! The human body is utterly amazing!
I’ve done a few fast now. From 24h to 72h. The sweet spot for me is 42-48h. And it’s amazing. Longer I felt like I truly was not myself. I felt like my body was weakening. 42hours I felt amazing. The liver and cell repair is truly remarkable. The weight loss was also amazing. 225 to 175. 52y male. 5’10”. All the gym rats. All the cardio. Not saying that it’s not important. But…this took me to another level.
Great video, again! You explain the science and molecular mechanisms interesting and easy to understand for people without a background in biomedical research. You back up your teaching with peer reviewed publications indexed on pubmed. Your fitness channel is all I need and I follow most of the advice you give for my exercise routine. Thanks for all your effort!
October 31started 20 hour daily fasting combined with 3 days per week at the gym. Weight has dropped from 235 lbs to 217 in 60 days. Waist was 43 inches and is 40 1/4 inches in that time. Target is 185 lbs and 34 inches, which I expect to reach by August 1st.
Nearly 3 yrs ago at the beginning of my very traumatic divorce I went 14 days without eating. After awhile your hunger just goes away completely and the desire to eat fades away.
Great video. You actually managed to squeeze a book I recently read into 13 minutes of footage. The title is: Complete Guide To Fasting by Dr. Jason Fung. I highly recommend it.
I've completed two 3-day fasts, first was late 2023, I thought I was going to die by day 3. The second was spring 2024, I was fine, and could have gone to day 4 without much stress. Next time, I'm going to 84-hr to see how I hold up. My (arbitrary) schedule is twice per year, 3+ days, but normally I OMAD or 2MAD/16/8. Fasting is amazing, fun, and healthy. Thanks for this potent video, FAST for health and spirituality! Plato, Jesus, Moses, Elijah, Mohammed and many other did it, and for good reason! :)
I havent watched the video but ive done 80 hour dry fasts (no food or drink) several times and its great for boosting HGH, detoxing and healing. It will also reset your cravings and your stomach will be satiated by lower quantities of higher quality and nutritious foods and build massive amounts of gratitude. stay blessed people 💫
I fasted for 17 days because I was undiagnosed bipolar type 1 and was in a manic episode thinking I was an Apostle of Jesus and it was God’s will for me to fast for 40 days. I got Streptococcus and took antibiotics after not eating for over two weeks and had to end the fast.
to fast so long is dangerous without enema. All what happened to you you started fasting for so long with relatively "dirty an full of toxins body". Increase the fasting time gradually. And eat clean!
Set aside 3 days or 72 hours to not eating and drinking anything else but plenty of water. I think resetting your body every 3 months is a great idea, just don’t do any workouts or even working during that period because you will be in a low state of energy. Walking is fine.
Yup! You'll be tired and cold for a while but once you hit your peak you'll have more energy than you know what to do with and if you exercise then you'll get lots more autophagy. I actually just did some light exercise on day one and I can taste the ketones on day two when it usually takes three days but I've done a lot of fasting before. ✌
I remember thinking Ramadan must be so hard for Muslims, then I began intermittently fasting about 4 years ago, now I can go days without eating whenever I want, it’s really not that difficult once you get used to it, the most I did was 10 days in a row and I only quit because I had a 10 hour flight and was bored stupid haha anyways good luck guys, remember start with small steps and over the course of a few months you will take back complete control of your diet
What do you do to “fight” past the hunger phases? Whether you actually are hungry or you’re just bored? I heard drink water but is there any other remedy’s I can use or try?
I seen i hit 260. Videos from thialand 4 months ago was 230 and my skin and face looked better. Besided the cho alate cake i ate at moms i am at my 24 hiur mark. The last thing was a giant pizza. Ya. A whole pizza. And a big sub 4 hours prior. I am a hog. A glutton. I have a problem. This video is helping. I am drinking alot of water .
*❗There are many things in this world and types of things that are forbidden(Haram) in Islam to eat and drink. However after 3 days of fasting on involuntary basis, those things of eating & drink nature which were Haram get allowed automatically. So one can understand why only 3 days of fast is beneficial and after the 3rd day of the fast, the body starts getting the beat.*
Ketone levels in blood may drop after so many days, but it would be incorrect to assume that ketone generation goes down. An increase in usage of ketone bodies would create the same drop in blood ketones.
people wont believe but i lost 8kgs in just 1-1.5 months by just eating 1 meal a day ( a big meal) and coffee for breakfast. learned from andrew tate though
56 hrs fasting on water and i am feeling amazing first 36 hrs were really difficult for me! And i lost about 2.1 kg in 56hrs and it significantly decreased my back pain! I feel so good tbh
I have done a 21 day fast. the first three days were the hardest, then hunger went away... yes, really. (from day 4: I could be at a table with other folks eating and it did not bother me). blood pressure dropped... cholesterol dropped... leaving type 2 diabetes behind... joint pain disappeared... of course, significant fat loss (260 to 230... more precisely to 260 to 222 to 230)... concentration improved dramatically... able to focus for longer.... irritability decreased (outside of first three days when I was hangry)... This is a great video for concise delivery of info... based on my experience (no, i am not a Dr. and I am only one data point) I think it mistakenly undersells longer (week or more) fasts (particularly for those with more fat) because I felt great for most of the 21 days. I got a headache on day 21 and decided to stop (not sure if headache was caused by fasting... it could have been... so that is why I stopped... if it was not, I wish I had kept going...). This may sound strange to someone who has not done a fast, but it felt great to be on that fast.... and great when it was over (very important based on my experience: slowly re-introduce easy to digest foods if you go that long... i limited to clear broths and vegetables for first few days)... i have done other, shorter fasts (mostly in the week long timer frame... one was two weeks) because of the success of that fast... For me, there is lots of weight loss in the first few days, and then it slows down. After multiple fasts, I think the real weight loss for me is about a pound a day (becasue you do put on some weight when you start eating again)... but the real victory is the increased energy, happier persona, lower blood pressure, no more type 2 diabetes medication, no more ADHD medication, no more ibuprofen every day, and real food tastes great again (my taste buds were reset so fruits and vegetables taste better than processed foods... ). Note: I also gave up caffeine during that time and that was harder than the first two days of the fast (vicious caffeine withdrawal headache on day 2, then went away on day 3). I could write a lot more... but his is probably already too long to read
Ive thought after 6th day not eating wed be dead how you not eat for 21 day? That must be miracle. Today is my 2nd days not eating at all feel very hungry. I have gout hurt so much so dont feel like to eat esplyy hurt so much from seafood buffet cause it I bet. I might go on 3 days not eating if some benefits from it thats it. Heard fasting help heal gout faster. Before this i only eat every other day for 6 days now that's why make case even worse to handle.
I’ve done 3 day fasts multiple times and the benefits are real. Particularly noticeable is the change in skin, weight loss, and the autophagy. It does feel like a total reset and healing of the body in a short time. I think this the way humans always lived and are meant to live. Our bodies were made to thrive in feast/famine but now we are always in “feast” mode with an excess of food everywhere, every day, multiple times a day. On top of that what many eat is pure junk and sugar is the worst for our health. There is healing in famine mode as well!
@@jp_jas my ideal schedule is the first 1-2 days while working and the last 1.5-2 days a weekend day so I can rest if needed. I just never know how I’m going to feel. Some times I feel so energetic that I even want to workout. And sometimes I can barely think and need to sit down. For me it’s best to be home especially toward the end of the fast for safety, instead of out and about driving, on calls, etc.
I just finished a 72 hr fast. First time trying anything more than 24 hrs. It wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. Day two dinner was quite tough to get my mind off of but once that hump was gone I was almost there. My body looks amazing afterwards. My muscles are popping out, I lost 7 lbs. my skin seems better and I feel like I was able to reset and heal my body. Definitely recommend trying it.
good to hear your accomplishment but if I may as: when u say fasting for 3 days do u mean taking water only? or do you drink some sugar-free tea or coffee during that?
@@s_t_r_e_l_0_o_k818 fasting is no calories what so ever (drinks with 2-3 cals are said to not have any impact), so water of course is fine, coffee, and no cals drinks such as Coca-Cola without sugar is fine
I started fasting in June 2022. I was 220 lbs., blood pressure 140/95 and borderline type 2 diabetic. As of today, I'm 180lbs BP 119/75 and no longer on the radar of type 2 diabetic. I'm 47 years old and fasting got me to understand my body especially in what I eat. I now eat 4 hours in a day and every 2 weeks I'll pull off a 48 hour. I will continue to do this until I reach my goal of 160lbs. The best thing about fasting is that it costs nothing to do. No miracle drugs, shakes nothing. I'm living like my great grandfather did.
This is what I wanted to know? Can you pretty much fast 48 hours eat two sensible meals the fourth day. Then go back to fast 48 hours & repeat until you reach your goal weight?
@@mmljane Everybody is different it all depends on how you feel. I switched to 48 hours every 2 weeks because I was doing it weekly and I was always tired.
I’m on day 4. I haven’t decided how long to go. I lost 25 lbs a few years ago and was in the best shape of my adult life. I let 20 lbs return over 3 years. I needed to get control. I have used Intermittent fasting for years, but I didn’t restrict the amount or kinds of foods and I paid the price. So far, I’m down 8 lbs., clothes fit better, I have more mental acuity, my self-control in other areas has improved, I sleep better, shoulder pain from an injury a couple months ago has subsided, I can get off the couch without having to move slowly because of stiffness discomfort, and my mood has improved. I may go up to 20 days, but will likely stop after 5 and restart after 3 days if limited eating on a IF 16:8 pattern. Thank you for the encouragement and the cautions.
@@kevin-qc7zv yes, I think so. I’ve seen information that suggests that exercise during fasting can help promote muscle retention and tone while releasing positive hormones.
I've been doing various forms of fasting for 10+ years and this is one of, if not the best, summary I've seen. Packed with info and concise. Many thanks.
@@stevemoore2730 I can only dry fast for 3 days, after that I get light headed, I'm will be working on dry fasting for 8 days though. It is said that, after 8 days of dry fasting your body can start to break down and parts will start to fail like your kidneys.
@@halfmanhalfamazing7392 just a joke. I practice intermittent fasting my whole adult life. Only when I get like super bored do I even eat 2 times in a day. And I don't remember the last time I've ate 3 Times in a day. Altho it's been a few years since I've gone without food for more than 35 hours . Just been too lazy to do a 3 days fast I guess. But I always think about but I'm also recently thinking about gaining muscle haha
I have just completed a 72 hour fast, it got really hard after 60 hours and I was not able to think properly while working. It felt like having constant confusion when i reached the 60-72 hours of fasting. Some videos said not to eat too much after completing the fast so I ended my fast by eating a little. I ended my fast exactly at the 72 hour mark but light headedness and confusion lasted until the end of the fourth day. After the fast, i feel great. I feel a dramatic decrease in anxiety and depression. I lost so much weight and my skin and face looks healthier and younger. I also feel a lot more energy and don’t have as many urges to eat throughout the day.
It was just water fasting or you took electrolytes or sea salt or any minerals? I have completed 48 hours of the 72 hours fasting. I don’t have any energy and have constant hunger pangs and headache
I did a three day water fast last week. I find I don't feel good, slightly off, the whole time. And I did add electrolytes. But starting with the bone broth that I used to break the fast, and for the next three days after the fast, I felt terrific. Healthy and strong like I was 20 years younger. I'm 68.
It's important to get as many nutrients as you can during feeding days with added support from vitamins a good protocol is to saute green veggies with eggs in olive oil and eat it with a multivitamin with some fermented food like sauerkraut or yogurt. This ensure you have the bacteria and enzymes to pull as many of the nutrients into your body as you can so you're not deficient when fasting.
Started my 3 day fasting at 9 am this morning. Will keep yall updated. Update - I finished my 3 day fasting, it was great. Inflammation was gone. After completing 2nd day my body felt super energetic even with the fast. I would say is give it a try, fasting is very good for health, it will improve the metabolism, digestion, sleep cycle too. Best of luck everyone 🙂👍
A true spiritual fast is not just food centered. Its to only meditate, pray, read, & control all desires, addictions, bad emotions, all bad thoughts, lusts of the flesh & body & eyes,& just being consistent in his spirit & word in meditation. Not allowing any outer disturbances, to emotions, mind or spirit. A true fast is to get away from all things of the world, & its very, very, powerful to break it all off & become closer to spiritual. Its so powerful, that what many think they know of fasting, is minimal, compared to knowing the real truth & power in fasting...
This is the best video I’ve seen after reading 10 years about autophagy. Congrats. I did autophagy for the first time in September 2021 with a burn out after covid. I was gonna go for 3 days. The first 2 days were a bit tricky but after 36 hours you can really feel the autophagy kicking in. I had never felt so much energy in my body ever since I’m born (all the contrary one would expect). Clear thinking, laser sharp eyes, even your smell becomes so sharp. The next thing I found myself doing push-ups and took the kettle bell and then took my mountain bike for a ride. So then I decided…wow that goes well, let’s extend to 7 days. The only reason I broke the fasting after one week is social pressure (friends employees and family being in disbelieve). So u need to be careful when you reboot your system. I did it again one month ago (7 days) and decided to remain in keto mode. It’s simply amazing since I don’t crave for snacks or stuff and I eat once or twice a day. Constant energy levels are the secret since your insulin levels keep down. That means that I keep on loosing fat while my intake of proteins promotes my muscle mass. This video is real, I can testify. And I’ve already sent it to numerous friends. Thank You for doing this
If you're fit and healthy, no matter what age, I would aim for 72 hours. If you're overweight and have a level which you can't break lower, go with 96 hours. In both cases, try to add a few days of OMAD (One meal a day, basically a 24h fasting) as an extension of the fasting. Eat normal (or less than normal if you are going overweight) for some weeks and try to repeat every month. Sometimes you may have the feeling you want to do a fast, just start it! If you later feel that it is not the right week for fasting, just cancel and try again when you feel for it again! Sometimes I feel 'bad' after a day or two, so I cancel. Then it was at least a short fast, better than nothing! After you get used to fasting, it becomes easier each time. 72h has become easy, 96 requires some discipline and sometimes I cancel at 92 😂. Recently I have the feeling I could go even a day longer. But, at some point, this adds a few negative effects. For anything longer than 120h, definitely get a doctor's check whether you are able to withstand depletion of all kinds of resources.
Once I learn that foods can effect how you think and feel, I’ve been more conscious of what i eat and how much…Surprises me how many people still sit around and eat fast food knowing its not good for your body or your kids💯🤷🏾♂️🤔
I’ve done prolonged fasting 6 times and my last time recently I worked up to 84hours. It seemed simple to me after the 48hour mark, but it worried me some so I cut it off at 84. I felt fine and could’ve went longer. The only negative effect i noticed was mood swings!
Been intermediate fasting and on a calorie deficit for nearly a year now. Can't believe how much muscle I have gained when you also include some hypertrophy training and light cardio. Lost close to 30kgs
I would fast until around 2pm and have 2 meals High in protein, good fats and complex carbs. Second meal around 6pm. This is now my lifestyle. Sometimes I do a 24hr - 48hr fast. Simple formula Hypertrophy training + calorie deficit
Why are people so lazy to workout? It's very healthy for you. If all you do is fast you lose weight, but you don't gain muscle. Muscle is the foundation of youth, it's what makes you feel young.
Getting ready for another 21-day water fast. I started slow when I started fasting. I did 1 day, then 2 days, then 3 days until I was able to work my way up to 7 days. It's definitely hard that's why I started slow. The longest is 28 days. That was the best I've ever felt in my life! I'm preparing for a 21-day water fast, so here I go! Good luck on your journey! 🙏🏾😊💛
Edit: Typos By water fast... you mean only have water in a certain time window right within a day? Because otherwise it sounds like you're on a slow suicide mission. Are you okay?! 😅
The longest I have fasted is 21 days and usually do a couple of 14 day fasts a year ( I drink a lot of water while fasting), I work out, eat healthy (I’m in Italy) but fasting is the healthiest thing I do, after 3 days it becomes easier and i definitely feel better. The hardest thing is not the fasting itself but being around people (as in the comments) telling you how bad it is for you and trying to guilt-trip you into eating. Luckily for me my wife is very supportive and doesn’t give me a hard time about it, especially as she can see first hand how much better I look and feel, I have learned to tell nobody else but her, in fact, I tell people the secret to fasting is keeping your mouth shut. I’m 72, on no medications and feel good. Ciao.
I fasted for 7 days after getting into keto (to make it easier). And my skin cleared up (eczema), the pain in my knees, hands, and back went away (inflammation), I was able to stretch much more than I was before and I was able to hold my breath underwater longer. It's crazy... I was 225ish before and I was 170ish at the end. That was within a month and 2 weeks (keto prep, intermittent fasting, into one meal a day fasting then skip a couple days. Then I did the 7 days... Almost 8.)
@@BlackJesus8463 I have and its amazing. Very easy to eat 1meal a day ! Regularly go 16 to 20 hours most days on one meal of meat. 59 years old, and feeling the best I have ever felt !
I’m 8.5 hours from my first 3 day fast. Thank you for the video explaining the things I’m experiencing! I am documenting my health changes on my channel too. I tried a 3 day beginning the evening of Thursday the 19th, and my wife asked me to eat on Saturday morning, the 21st, making it 38 hours with zero fasting experience. From the 21st to the 28th, I did a 16/8 or 17/7 intermittent fast, then on the 28th I began my 3 day. It is now the 31st of January and I have lost over 12 lbs. my goal is 16.1 lbs, or 100 Big Mac sandwiches!
@@nickmaxthechef I haven’t gone more than 3 days. Have you had any intake other than water? Tea? Coffee? Electrolytes? I have learned that fasting means many things to many people.
@@HolyPotata I was at 202.4 when I started fasting and intermittent fasting. Most mornings, I weigh in about 178-180 now. Last I calculated, I think that was 146 Big Macs? Either way, I’m feeling great!
When I was 230lbs (6ft 2in) I fasted for 4 months (6 days a week, broke my fast, and repeated for 3 more weeks). Lost over 30 pounds of fat/water/inflammation and bloodwork looked amazing. If you're asking me, people who are even 10 pounds overweight can benefit from extended fasts.
Bro dope video. Been fasting daily for 2 years now for ~ 14-20 hours. Recently have been hitting 22 hours and oddly, my white hairs in my beard seem to be disappearing and workouts are getting intense.
I've seen numerous videos and read several books on fasting. This video is by far the best detailed video on fasting. You covered everything from A thru Z. Great Job, I'm going to pass this on to all my friends who are intrested in fasting.
Did a 40 day water fast. Lost a grip of weight (45 lbs) once I started eating again I only gained back like 5-7lbs which is water weight, glycogen, fiber etc etc. No loose skin either. This video has a lot of wrong info.
I tried the water fasting, my goal was 7 days . I made it 4 1/2 days. The not eating part wasn't hard, it was the coffee and soda that I hated. I lost 17lbs , I started drinking coffee again but haven't had any soda for 3 weeks . I did gain about 3 lbs back but I'm ready to do another 3 day fast it's a very reasonable goal
You didn't have to give up on coffee. Just don't add any sugars or cream to it. I did iced espresso for 6 months of fasting for 10 to 12 a day and lost about 28 lbs. My regular liquid intake was a minimum of 72oz of lime water with some pink sea salt. What I list isn't much, but I did it slowly and safely.
Very similar, I had been drinking strong green tea. Indian/Asian grocery stores sell it loose in bulk. Strong tastes better. However I switched to diett cola's , not a good idea. We live and learn,.
Keeping nutrients is important, mosti issues after some time come from simply a lack of salt, healthy like seasalt. With coffee just watch out for cafeïne, since this can impair sleep, and also coffee can trigger salt loss or something like that can't remember exactly. Oh and salt does not trigger insuline, and break the fast. Some nutrient pakcages do contain sugar however for taste, and that will break a fast
I am a super obese guy trying to change my life for the better im currently in a 7 day fast, the first 3 days are nightmare but in the fourth day belive me all hunger goes away and you feel so much energy its ridiculous, im still going to the gym during the fast, my goal is 7 days. Stay strong people it gets better.
I have found that when I fast for three days, it becomes easier to avoid garbage foods. The urge for sugar and salty foods goes away, and when I consume salty foods, I can feel the negative effects immediately inside my body. When I do fast, I continue with water only. I don't like to go beyond 5 days as that's generally when energy falls off and I become weak minded. When I break my fast, I start with a few nonsalted pistachios and half of a green apple. I sometimes add one cup of old-fashioned oatmeal, no sugar added. I stick with that diet for about three days, then slowly add more solid foods into my diet. After about two weeks or a maximum of one month, I do another fast cycle. My fasting never goes more than five days. I find the more I fast, the easier it is to avoid garbage foods as my body absolutely hates junk foods, and I can't even stand the smell of crappie foods.
I found that locking the fridge by wrapping a bicycle lock around the handles and giving my wife the key made it MUCH easier to sleep through the night while fasting.
Lost 9 lbs in 3 days at 43yrs old at 45.1 bmi and 42.3 visceral fat from water and fasting. No lie I gained 5lb back in 2 days from the empty carbs(breads) which weren't alot but also are high in sugar. This is a great stepping stone saying from experience

Hi. I want to lose weight with fasting. What and how much can I eat after 2 to 3 days fasting? Should I eat 1 meal and then start fasting again. What do do after the 3 day fasting
@gravity So what happends when you are using testosteron and winny and then fast?
What activity is happening during fasting, is it restful or normal day w/workout?
Fasting for more than 12 hours slows your metabolism and accelerates muscle loss. The exact opposite of what you're trying to accomplish. Funny that these "experts" don't mention that.
Circadian stems from the words circa diem, and do you prnounce circa as Kirka?
Who else is here because they are in the middle of a fast?😂
I watch this every time I fast! It reinforces all the benefits into my brain over and over ❤

Yes, really gives me motivation - I’m on my 3rd 48 hour fast - I’ve also done 2 x 72 hour fasts -3 months apart
I do this for every diet or fitness challenge I give myself. It’s very motivating!
Yes 12 hours into my 72 hours goal🎉
I like to do it for a whole weekend. My last meal is Friday night and my next meal is Monday morning. I make sure that the kitchen is super clean on Friday night and then I enjoy the fact that my kitchen never gets dirty for the entire weekend!
Friday night then Monday night for full 3-day fast ❤
Really great idea, must help with the motivation to not mess up the kitchen 👍

😧 Wow… hats 🎩 🧢 👒 off to you, buddy. First ever fast and you went for the 5 days. 🫡

Good job.
So can I ask if you ate or drank anything during that time? I'm unsure about what exactly fasting is. Is any food allowed at all?

During a fast you don't eat anything or drink anything unless it contain zero calories.

Ive gone without eating 10 days just prayed fast n talk to god my pee turned darker n darker hunger i broke my fast n thanked god
Just in the first 1min of this video you have given a very easy understanding crashcorse that others took 20mins to explain. This video is very well made and fast pace to keep you engaged. Keep it up! Love it!
I fully agree. It basically explains the whole digestion & how nutrition works.

You shouldn’t wait to start lifting, best time to start was yesterday, next best is today!
When I lost weight I too had people thinking I was sick or too thin and they tried to stop me. I felt great
The longer fasting period I’ve done has been of 60 hours for 2 times, the last was one week ago to “clean a bit my body” in the middle of my bulking phase (at 3600 kcals per day, I’m a well trained person of 73 kg and 177cm) and both times I feel very good and with no hunger (a part from the little span between the 12 and the 14 hours after I started).
In the past I’ve tried fasting for 24 or 48 hours and I have had the same sensations of no hungry a part from that little span between the 12 and the 14 hours, and also I have done during my definition phase the intermittent fasting 16-8 for 4 months from April to July without any problems.
I really recommend intermittent fasting to everyone who wants to lose weight easier, especially considering all the benefits this method has on our body!
go for 200 hours
It's easier to eat nothing than omad. ✌
I FASTED FOR 4 DAYS AND I LOST 10 POUNDS. I KEPT GOING AND NOW I HAVE LOST 12 POUNDS.

Insulin is the fat storage hormone, and it blocks fat burning.
What did you eat to break your fast?

Fung is a nut case
Omg why?
This book was recommended by my doctor. David, why do you say he’s a nut case?

I love how this information is given, knowing damn well no one can make money off of it.

Great video!! I especially like the carb info.
Ketone levels in blood may drop after so many days, but it would be incorrect to assume that ketone generation goes down. An increase in usage of ketone bodies would create the same drop in blood ketones.

But fasting starts the healing process fast
Thanks for the info. Did you notice any muscle loss after the 3 days?

I’ve done 3 day fasts multiple times and the benefits are real. Particularly noticeable is the change in skin, weight loss, and the autophagy. It does feel like a total reset and healing of the body in a short time. I think this the way humans always lived and are meant to live. Our bodies were made to thrive in feast/famine but now we are always in “feast” mode with an excess of food everywhere, every day, multiple times a day. On top of that what many eat is pure junk and sugar is the worst for our health. There is healing in famine mode as well!

Thank
You for doing this
Very well explained
Great! Did you find you lost any muscle mass after the 3rd - 7th day?

Almost 8.)

Fasting Is healthy for my body and my wallet. Let's goo
I've always considered coffee and soda poison
Keeping nutrients is important, mosti issues after some time come from simply a lack of salt, healthy like seasalt. With coffee just watch out for cafeïne, since this can impair sleep, and also coffee can trigger salt loss or something like that can't remember exactly. Oh and salt does not trigger insuline, and break the fast. Some nutrient pakcages do contain sugar however for taste, and that will break a fast
@phongdao9239 I wanted the full only water affect. I don't like black coffee, the no caffeine headache only lasted a day so it wasn't that bad.
I’m 5 years into my fast. The benefits are real, I’m down 280 lbs. keep going guys
Lmfao ☠️
get up outta here bro
I found that locking the fridge by wrapping a bicycle lock around the handles and giving my wife the key made it MUCH easier to sleep through the night while fasting.
I’m on 3 minutes fast . Can’t wait to break it in 10 minutes 😅🤝
Tomorrow will strive for 20 minutes fast . God is amazing and I love fasting 🙏🏽
😂😂 I’m on my 16 hour fast

Lost 9 lbs in 3 days at 43yrs old at 45.1 bmi and 42.3 visceral fat from water and fasting. No lie I gained 5lb back in 2 days from the empty carbs(breads) which weren't alot but also are high in sugar. This is a great stepping stone saying from experience
