gaijin hunter It sounds much more atmospheric and less repetitive this time around, which is fantastic because you do spend a ton of time in the town while deciding what fight to do next or researching stuff. This wasn't even on my wishlist for improvements in this game, but I am super excited to know its there and makes me want it to release over here even more!
man i have sooo much fun with this weapon, being a LS (longsword) user, its got the range, but the speed of dual blades, its great. and them jumpy attacks are just phenomenal
Just wanted to say that I really appreciate your tutorial videos. I main with the Charge Blade and your tutorial was instrumental in getting the hang of it. It's well put together, and the visual aid along with the written commentary allows me to easily stop and examine what's going on. The text is very concise and you bring up nuances in the weapons that could easily be dismissed at a cursory glance.
700+ hours of playing IG and I thought I knew everything about it. I decided to watch this video just to see how well I had been self-taught. 1 min in and Gaijinhunter already has me feeling like a complete doofus - I HAD NO IDEA YOU COULD CHARGE UP THE KINSECT LAUNCH! I would just like to add that draw attack can be done with X, you just have to be moving forward. Thank you for this and for all your amazing tutorials!
Awesome guide! Thanks very much. I had not bothered with the Insect Glaive ever because it sounded too complicated. I was giving it a go and not doing so well. Looked up this guide and it is such a strong/unique weapon! I've started a new game and I am doing great with it.
Amazingly useful guide. I'm going to try out the Glaive and the Charge Blade on the MH4U demo in anticipation of the game's release. Couldn't do it without your help, gaijin hunter!
thanks so much gaijin, after the tutorial mission for the glaive i was left with more questions than when i started, and put me off from using it. this vid was super helpful!
I accidentally deleted my message trying to edit it. While holding R with the Glaive, a reticle comes up, and during that time you cannot evade, you can only shoot nectar or pole vault, so if you time it wrong you can leave yourself open to an attack. I found a way to cancel the reticle though, while holding R, press Start, let go of R, then press start again and you will cancel the nectar shot early. (This can be done almost instantly if you're quick enough) If anybody knows of a better method please let me know.
I don't know if someone else mentioned it already and I am absolutely no pro on kinsects (hit high rank some days ago but I use kinsect quite a bit)... but I think a high Stamina kinsect can be useful as well, not just speed. The kinsect will not always reach the target in time, especially true if you stand far away, but you can issue the attack command again and it will correct its flying path towards the marked target and with high stamina it you can command it a few times. But what I really love about a high stamina kinsect is, that you can send it through the monsters body multiple times before it runs out of stamina. Very useful if your kinsect has caught the wrong color, just let it fly through the enemy again, maybe it will have better luck now picking the right one. Also this makes much better use of the kinsects raw and elemental damage. You can let it do multiple hits. I usually do this up close to the monster, circling it while issuing the kinsect commands, till I have all colors I need. I had monster flinch from time to time just from kinsect hits, rarely even a kill by kinsect. :p I can imagine that speed kinsects are much more efficient just for color gathering, but I have a lot of fun feeling that the kinsect does its part of the battle too. :) But this is just the way I enjoy my kinsect right now and I just have very few glaives since I am still a newbie. I am curious to see a high power high stamina kinsect in much higher ranks.
Many, many thanks for this guide man! I'm hoping to see one with some of the new features of the other weapons, especially the gunlance! Keep up the excellent work.
I started using the Galive more ofteb and I really like it a lot, specially since I upgraded my Gore Magala Glaive for a Shagaru Glaive, now I looking for stuff for eiteh Dios Rod or Fatalis Rod (My main weapon is still Gunlace though), but when I admit I havee more to leran about them, there are people who don´t even try. The other day I was playing with a Hunter named justing, and when fightimg he was just spaming the leap attack to mount mosters, no combos, no Kinsect, only leap and mount, he almost got fainted trhee time by a PINK RATHIAN! I decided to kick him because he was just next to useless while hunting.
Several things the video didn't mention: 1. Press R during any combo to side swing with the other end of the glaive, this will mark the monster part it hits with bug pheromone. It also does impact damage rather than cut. Very useful for marking the head of a downed monster which will be a lot harder to hit for your kinsect normally, like the Fatalis. Downside is this move will end your combo as you can't chain any other move after other than rolling. 2. Gaijin says he wouldn't rely on the kinsect to do a hunter's job of dealing damage, which is not entirely true. When upgraded to max power, especially with Power Up (L), the kinsect can deal a surprising amount of damage. It's most effectively demonstrated with the PowerUp + StaminaUp kinsect upgrade path, which also comes with ChargeTime Down. Charging a kinsect only takes 1 second and it can down/break a monster at the most unexpected moment, not to mention that the kinsect can easily catch up with monsters fleeing or when the monster is too dangerous to approach. 3. I strongly favour impact kinsects over cut kinsects. Cut kinsects can cut monster tails, but of course requires precise handling. Impact kinsects, on the other hand, can KO a monster when hit repeatedly. This is again best demonstrated with the ChargeTime Down kinsect with PowerUp + StaminaUp (you can still upgrade the kinsect speed to max regardless of upgrade path). If you can successfully topple a monster, stand in front of its head and charge your kinsect into it repeatedly, it's almost guaranteed that you can KO it before it stands back up (depends on the monster ofc, some monsters are harder to KO). 4. If you've read my point 3, go get the Paralyzing Vine (Najarala glaive) and get the PowerUp + StaminaUp kinsect and do these: mount and topple a monster -> get red juice -> combo the downed monster till it paralyzes -> charge attack monster head -> KO monster. Which gives a big window for your teammates to output massive damage with their favourite weapon (GS players will hug you to death).
Something interesting to note that i didnt see pointed out is if you send your kinsect to attack three times without calling it back it will do the drill charge it does when you charge it in your glaive for a while before letting it go
HR 228 with lots of mixed sets and a deep knowledge of every weapon... except for Bug Staff, thanks for the upload, I tried learning on my own, but that upgrade screen is just to intimidating for me.
I feel like its worth noting that a damage based kinsect is not unviable, but it is going to require G rank materials to make, like the effect extender kinsect. Either way, just throw everything into speed until then, unless you 100% know exactly what you are doing.
My favourite guides out there. Thanks a lot for your hardwork ! I'm currently preparing for MH4U release here in europe and planning to main IG. What would be a good IG route to avoid wasting time and ressources upgrading unneeded stuff (apart from the fact that you stack speed only till Grank) ?
Just a minor correction; Glaive is not the only weapon for which the draw attack is the A attack. Switch Axe also does the A attack as its draw attack when drawing into axe mode.
gaijin hunter I'm not a native speaker. But I understand under the draw attack the unsheathing of the weapon with an attack at the same moment. But that's the X button, and not the A button, right?
hey just a quick thing i think you missed: you can do side attacks similar to the long sword when you have the red juice. like this: A+A (and a direction) you can do vertical spinning slashes forward, left or right. really nice for dodging
Nice guide once again, and i was wondering at last when we would be able to see your HB set. Now i do agree, it looks great, design-wise. :p What next? Dual Blades? Bow? HBG/LBG?
So far as I've seen, a lot of large monsters have a green spot. I know Nerscylla has one and so does the Basarios. I think it's generally on their back though, so it can be tricky to get. I've hit green on accident a LOT on Nerscylla
Yea my game Glitched out when I got a new glaive, having the same upgrades as the previous one, but the next time I went to upgrade it it was back to normal.
There's no mention of this in the video, but the jump attack is capable of 3 hits, just... not sure how exactly. I get them every now and then on flying monsters if I jump up under them.
Hey, do you think you could cover some of the specifics of the kinsect, in terms of what the upgrade paths' different special skills will do? Also, being able to understand some of the damage/KO values and that sort of thing would be greatly appreciated. I know it's really not sensible to worry too much about the kinsect's damage, but hey - knowledge is power, right? I thirst for the knowledge.
I'll specify that I'm just sort of generally interested in how to calculate kinsect damage (presumably based on power rating) and how much KO damage it can do and how effective things like Extract Efficacy Up are and what the "Affinity Up" part of "Extract Extend & Affinity Up" actually does.
srry i dont know where to put this but, im having slight trouble with silver rathalos. i dont die directly to his attacks but to fire and poison. when i heal one i get the other and eventually die to both. i killed him but it took two tries and i carted once the second and took 25 min. i dont understand his claw attack. sometimes he completely misses others he hones in on me across the map, attacks, then goes back like teleportation, sometimes i think i dodge it only to get hit later when he turns during the swipe to where i am. i used 17 mega 11 antidotes 4 whetstones 3 firstaid/+ both traps and 2 large barrel bombs+. tl:dr whats wrong with me?
for me, grabbing all 3 colors is difficult on a few monsters, rathian included due to the fact that orange is annoying to get. when i do get it, it feels more so like random chance than the fact that i aimed at the body. Her wings get in the way and always give me green, her tail always gives red except at the very base of it, hey legs even at the top of them still give white and any higher i get green from the wings, and of course the head is always red. on some monsters this entire system feels a bit un-polished but i suppose thats just me. Already g-rank and this is still the only weapon i have problems with, and only when i try to triple up
Just started using IG, and when i press R+X, tried to send the bug out straight, it always mistaken in shooting pheromone bullet...am i doing anything wrong? =( thanks for anybody who can help me with this...
How do you know where the hit boxes for the effects are on the monsters? I fought the Rathian a few times and got all three pretty quickly each time. But I just fought her again and spent about 15 minutes trying to get the orange effect. The game seems to think all of her under side is her legs, and why is her tail attack too? Is there really a skill to pin pointing it? I think the first few times was luck, because I think the hit boxes are very finicky. Can anyone help? :)
The only thing I'm confused about is the Kinsect itself; do certain armor skills affect it or not? Ex: Partbreaker, KO King, Stamina Thief, Weakness Exploit, etc.. Does none of this apply to the Kinsect, because that makes it seem really obsolete if it doesn't.
Question about my kinsect. I really love the weapon but god the kinsect leveling is tedious. Should I bother focusing on making a 'perfect kinsect', or should I just make what I like until I rank up enough to bother? I'm Hunter Rank 4 btw. I really just want to just play but the optimal set ups are too important to pass up. All this information has given me a headache even, ugh.
+ChaosxPaladin Upgrade the Kinsect enough so you can upgrade the glaive to the next weapon, but don't worry too much about trying to make the perfect one each time, its far too expensive and like with every other weapon you'll either trade it out for a better one or upgrade it into a better one. Once you get into G-rank and such, then you can focus on making more specialized kinsects.
Hey gaijin, is there anyway to tell when your insect is tired and you cant send him out? A lot of times I press R+X and instead of sending the insect out, i just shoot the glaive and mark the target not knowing when I can shoot it again. Thanks
Gaijin hunter... I have a Hard trial for u. Are u capable to make an IG build set to use element on kinsect? Everyone says it is a bad ideal, but, I've tried very Hard and canot make it... I love elements, and certainly desired one build like that, Just to test its efficacy. I'll be trying forever...
When do you start to be able to forge new Glaives? I used the starting one for a bit in the beginning, but then I switched over to the Long Sword because the upgrade path for the Glaive didn't seem to be going anywhere.
Ah, I remember asking the same question myself! If I remember quickly, there's only 3-5 glaives that are unlocked in low rank. Unfortunately, pretty much all of the glaives are unlocked later on in high rank and in G rank. Just be patient; you'll get there eventually. (Btw it's cool that you're using more than one type of weapon. I really need to start mastering other things...)
Jett Alquiza Thanks for the reply! I recently found the blueprint for the Stealth Glaive, and it seems pretty nice. I've recently finished the Gore Magala on the ship quest and the Nerscylla in Harth quest, so how far would I have to get to the bottom of high rank?
If you just got the Nerscylla glaive, then the next one unlocked should be Gore Magala's, followed by Kirin I think. It's really easy to get the first high rank glaive, seeing as it's just Kecha Wacha. For the meantime, I suggest upgrading the glaives you have and to research the IG weapon trees so you can plan what you want to get in the future. Happy hunting! 😄
dont ever use this weapon but i want to learn cause i found a relic ig thats a metal mauler and looks great with my rajang armor set. stats are 713 atk, 310 drag, -20 affn with 5 edgemaster points. i thought it was pretty sweet but some guy with an hr over 500 said it was bad. is it? oh and i can still up grade it looks like affinity will go to -15 not sure if ill be able to upgrade again.
to be more precise: it is possible to do X combo, then finishing with A- slam and then follow with forward x by poking. rinse and repeat. i find x,x,a so incredibly dull.
Akaji Blubb also i didnt understood how did you mark the monsters? sure, your not using the R- pheromone and only using r+x toi send the bug off in a straight line but how did you actually hit the head with only that? it really wasnt cleart at all in your video :(
Question im hoping someone can answer. I got all of this down but since speed seems to be necessary over the other two stats. Does this mean we should be going for lighter armor sets when used with the glaive? Because i know alot of armor sets can be a huge slow down. At this point i only have full tatsucarba but im open for making more sets if i need too.
So is it true that the bug is attached permanently to the staff? IE you can't put your fully upgraded bug on a new staff? Dang. This weapon seems like a lot of effort to use. :\
But if they release this game in the west instead of an ultimate version, then won't there also be Japanese and Chinese players in addition to the Spanish and French players playing with us already? Three different languages is already enough, because this will lead to even less team cooperation.
got a quiestion! how shall i upgrade my kinsect after i reach G rank still going full speed and then something else or shall i start another path (like atk or res) and at the end max out speed? :) thx u!
I have a question. I'm currently running a Magala Insect Glaive, and I'm currently in G-1 Rank (I do have a G. Magala Guild Quest). Do you think I should keep on using the Magala IG, or should I switch to a different IG? If so, what IG might you recommend?
***** i dont know if they have any IG videos but try dadsuke i found them by watching gaijins hammer tutorial and then he had an annotation that sent you to their video which is amazing so they probably did IG
What's the strongest single hit for this weapon? Like, say I'm using a sleep glaive and I'm out of bombs, what should I hit the monster with? Or on the other hand, if I DO still have bombs, is shooting the charged bug at them the best/most damaging way to do it?
The strongest hit I believe is the charged up Kinsect attack, so long as it has sufficient points in Power. That's often the most recommended way to wake up a monster at least here in Japan. Bombs would be more powerful of course.
gaijin hunter Thanks, I've been trying to find info on that forever. I know bombs would do more damage, but I love me some sleep weapons haha so for hunts where I want to conserve my bombs a bit I just wanted to know which weapon attack would be the best one in their place. I was thinking it'd be that attack (because why would there even be a charge if it wasn't to wind up for for a high damage attack, it'd be kinda pointless otherwise) but all the info/players online seem to only talk about gathering buffs with the kinsect and pretty much ignore it as a source of damage
No their not. -_- Insect Glaives problem is that it has to constantly have the bug buffing you and means you taking less time damaging your opponent and more getting better than him. The charge blades weakness is that it relays on vials and it's slower more vulnerable axe for opting for a slower switch axe. Ended up hating the insect glaive and loving the Charge blade. Their not OP they just seem real good because of how it can get really good but it takes a while to get it good. Besides it's not really all that good at KOing opponents the Charge Blade and the Insect Glaive can only mount for so long which is their signifying features.
Well, It seems I´ve been lucky with the bug´s buff for getting the 3 In few seconds :D And as for the Charge Axe... [*chuckle* xD] Always KOing their heads :D (I´m still kinda beginning high rank >.
Emishimaru - Sama To be fair to the Charge blade I suck at headshots so it's more my fault than the weapons. But I stand by that their not OP. After all I still cant beat the demo with any weapon (Screw you Gore Magala) but I love every weapons purpose. My personal favorites being the Long sword and Charge blade. The Long Sword makes me just wanna scream "LET'S GIGA SWORD SLASHER THE HECK OUT OF YOU!" I mean the things a freaking anime sword. And the Charge blade/Axe (They both make sense." is really cool with how flashy and powerful axe mode is while still having best weapon (Swords baby!) Anyway I'm typing way to much later!
U.u yeah, I know. I like the new add-ups on the long sword, especially the after side-leap "R-button"´s diagonal linking attack. I think the game also made the switch axe kinda stronger too. I mean, there´s the X slash combo where you can Inmediatly link the sword burst right after It too. That´s great too.
When you start the game, your chest contains a basic version of every weapon, including the insect glaive. You can also buy weapons from the arms seller (which is a *different* shop from The Man who crafts equipment from the materials you bring him). Later, as you find more materials, you'll be able to craft new ones.
The elements are kinda important. They make youre bug do elemental dmg. Mine is currently thunder/fire. It very useful against monsters since you can make youre bug an element.
Yes it makes your bug to elemental dmg, but you are giving up more speed, power, and stamina to do it and thats no worth it. I much rather have a bug have more raw damage, and be faster then do fire damage with its attacks. I am not saying elemental bugs aren't bad, but people prefer there bugs to be more general with there damage rather then be specific with elemental dmg.
Nathalie Mykløy Each time you put a point in an element, that's a point you can't use for the primary 3 stats. The neutral nectars (+2 in only one stat) can be purchased rather cheaply from the wycoon, just need to wait until the one you want is available and stock up on it. Once you get to end-game, you'll have to completely remake the staff from scratch if you don't like the stats on your kinsect; there is no way to reset the points.
TL;DR version tutorial:
1. Throw bug
2. Juice up
3. Je Suis Monte!
WTFate
Pardon.
WTFate lol
Lol
italian
yesss
Y'know I fell in love with this weapon from the first time I used it. I love it's maneuverability and multitasking requirements.
Despite the kinsect not doing much damage, on more then one occasion my kinsect has gotten the killing blow on a monster which i find pretty hilarious
Holy crap the music in the town is absolutely stunningly gorgeous. Leagues better to listen to than 3U's ports.
You should hear the music in towns like Carth, it's amazing. All the music is top notch this time around!
gaijin hunter It sounds much more atmospheric and less repetitive this time around, which is fantastic because you do spend a ton of time in the town while deciding what fight to do next or researching stuff.
This wasn't even on my wishlist for improvements in this game, but I am super excited to know its there and makes me want it to release over here even more!
gaijin hunter I have a quick question, Is it always the same kinsect or does it change with the insect glaive
Meerkat Rodeo If you haven't learned already (unlikely) you evolve your kinsect and can pick as you go.
James Rutter Yea I learnt that xD It can be a huge pain when you have an insect glaive for each element, espicially when it gets to g rank
man i have sooo much fun with this weapon, being a LS (longsword) user, its got the range, but the speed of dual blades, its great. and them jumpy attacks are just phenomenal

A small note: The "marking shot" (R and aim) can be used to detonate bombs safely from a distance.
Awesome guide! Thanks very much. I had not bothered with the Insect Glaive ever because it sounded too complicated. I was giving it a go and not doing so well. Looked up this guide and it is such a strong/unique weapon! I've started a new game and I am doing great with it.
One thing I would like to point out: the juiced air attack actually hits three times, not twice.
this weapon can actually end being pretty fucking overpowered at times once you get the hang of it. And i love it.
I just realizes you can get 2 different essences from Remobras...
Amazingly useful guide. I'm going to try out the Glaive and the Charge Blade on the MH4U demo in anticipation of the game's release. Couldn't do it without your help, gaijin hunter!
I remember 12 year old me not knowing how to use the kinsect at all. I struggled so much until magala 😂
I've been using it without using the bug juice buff, I only recently found out the mixed juice buff during Shagaru Magala fight.
i just got into the glavie yesterday and now ik more on how it works and how im going to use it. thanks for this turorial. :)
absolutely fantastic video, helped me out 1000%, and you make things easy-to-understand, liked and subbed and recommended to friends
There's just something so great and eccentric about this weapon, it's perfect for me.
thanks so much gaijin, after the tutorial mission for the glaive i was left with more questions than when i started, and put me off from using it. this vid was super helpful!

actually a little fact that you got wrong: the glaive's aerial attack on red juice actually does 3 hits if you're high enough in the air.

This guide was just AWESOME ! Now I just can't wait to use it ^^
Your videos are really helpful. I'm very exited to finally use this weapon type myself once the game launches outside of japan.
HR 228 with lots of mixed sets and a deep knowledge of every weapon... except for Bug Staff, thanks for the upload, I tried learning on my own, but that upgrade screen is just to intimidating for me.
Your tutorials are the best!
I didn't know that I could grab color from dead monster!!! Thanks for this point!!
Your tutorials are super coherent and informative. Keep it up!

I see why this and the charge blade are so OP. It's because they require so much work.
Way too much work.
Every day I learn some new moves from your tutorial XD
Oh the good old days
amazing guide, u put a lot of work in you deserve more views.. i think i can fix that
うぽつです!

But that's the X button, and not the A button, right?
they should make a kinsect game for kinnect
0:58 I didn't know you could do that...
I main the insect glaive, AND I NEVER KNEW ABOUT THAT BUSTED INFINITE. Also I never knew about marking
hey just a quick thing i think you missed: you can do side attacks similar to the long sword when you have the red juice.
like this: A+A (and a direction)
you can do vertical spinning slashes forward, left or right. really nice for dodging
You're doing great work, this is awesome.

What next? Dual Blades? Bow? HBG/LBG?
In the beginning you said that there are 4 juices, but watching the video, there are only: red, white, and orange. What's the 4th one?
Sorry I never covered green. It recovers a very minute amount of hp. Not all monsters have a green part if I'm not mistaken
Yeah, in the demo I extracted green from a Kelbi. Probably only small, non-aggressive monsters that have it?
Buttered Funnybiscuit You can get it from some large monsters as well I recall getting it from Gore a couple of times in the demo.
Laharl Krichevskoy Yea, plus with a balance bug you get green (L) but idk how much it increases the health gain by.
So far as I've seen, a lot of large monsters have a green spot. I know Nerscylla has one and so does the Basarios. I think it's generally on their back though, so it can be tricky to get. I've hit green on accident a LOT on Nerscylla
Three questions:
1. What armor are you using?
2. What's a good high rank armor to use?
3. What do you think of Clockwork?
thank u so much ive jumped on accident before but dident know how i did it
Cephalos are small Monsters too, but they'll give alle 3 juices.
thank you for making these videos! it helps alot!
Great guide, appreciate it!
So the kinsect is need to be upgraded in every glaive? that sounds like a ton of bug meal and items to upgrade if you want to have 4 or 5 of them :S
It reminds me of how Bowguns used to have to be leveled up to rank 5 and didnt change into other bowguns.
Nope, your kindest pal stays the same, mines a beetle :)
MC kraken no every glaive has its own kinsect
Yea my game Glitched out when I got a new glaive, having the same upgrades as the previous one, but the next time I went to upgrade it it was back to normal.
MC kraken Mine will always be Dragon Flies. "More juice NOW!"
There's no mention of this in the video, but the jump attack is capable of 3 hits, just... not sure how exactly. I get them every now and then on flying monsters if I jump up under them.
This was so awesome, i learned a lot, thanks!
I don't get it, Does the kinsect keep its level if you change insect glaive or is it more complicated?
srry i dont know where to put this but, im having slight trouble with silver rathalos. i dont die directly to his attacks but to fire and poison. when i heal one i get the other and eventually die to both. i killed him but it took two tries and i carted once the second and took 25 min. i dont understand his claw attack. sometimes he completely misses others he hones in on me across the map, attacks, then goes back like teleportation, sometimes i think i dodge it only to get hit later when he turns during the swipe to where i am. i used 17 mega 11 antidotes 4 whetstones 3 firstaid/+ both traps and 2 large barrel bombs+.
tl:dr whats wrong with me?
Love your tutorials they help a lot
I personally like rodeo God or mounting master just so that the actual mounts go faster
for me, grabbing all 3 colors is difficult on a few monsters, rathian included due to the fact that orange is annoying to get. when i do get it, it feels more so like random chance than the fact that i aimed at the body. Her wings get in the way and always give me green, her tail always gives red except at the very base of it, hey legs even at the top of them still give white and any higher i get green from the wings, and of course the head is always red. on some monsters this entire system feels a bit un-polished but i suppose thats just me. Already g-rank and this is still the only weapon i have problems with, and only when i try to triple up
If the kinsect is weak, why are we bothering to charge it to do wakeups?
Portable Dark Souls is really impressive..
Wait, "Once you evolve a kinsect it starts to gain skills like boosted speed, stamina, and
SPEED. Does that mean no power bonuses?
dont ever use this weapon but i want to learn cause i found a relic ig thats a metal mauler and looks great with my rajang armor set. stats are 713 atk, 310 drag, -20 affn with 5 edgemaster points. i thought it was pretty sweet but some guy with an hr over 500 said it was bad. is it? oh and i can still up grade it looks like affinity will go to -15 not sure if ill be able to upgrade again.
good video, but why is X,X,A the main combo? i can chain other infinite combos too (mh4u demo as of today)
to be more precise: it is possible to do X combo, then finishing with A- slam and then follow with forward x by poking. rinse and repeat. i find x,x,a so incredibly dull.
Akaji Blubb also i didnt understood how did you mark the monsters? sure, your not using the R- pheromone and only using r+x toi send the bug off in a straight line but how did you actually hit the head with only that? it really wasnt cleart at all in your video :(
Akaji Blubb also do you use the CCP? is this staff playable without it?
I don't use marking I just aim well ^^
gaijin hunter but how do you aim? holding R and then with cpp aiming for the head? what about my mentioned combos? why is it X,X,A?
holy shit the speed of that kinsect
Andy Zheng i really want one :D
Andy Zheng holy crap. thanks!
Is there some pro with the insect glaive like Chris with CB or Efenbaum with hammer, etc?
Question im hoping someone can answer. I got all of this down but since speed seems to be necessary over the other two stats. Does this mean we should be going for lighter armor sets when used with the glaive? Because i know alot of armor sets can be a huge slow down. At this point i only have full tatsucarba but im open for making more sets if i need too.
please cover what you left out by posting another video or just edit it in this video and re-upload will you bro ?
So is it true that the bug is attached permanently to the staff? IE you can't put your fully upgraded bug on a new staff?
Dang. This weapon seems like a lot of effort to use. :\
But if they release this game in the west instead of an ultimate version, then won't there also be Japanese and Chinese players in addition to the Spanish and French players playing with us already? Three different languages is already enough, because this will lead to even less team cooperation.
would love to use this weapon but i'm just too comfortable with great sword and lazy to learn it
How can I get Brown buff easilly? Is a real pain in the back to get that buff, but it can be something I'm doing wrong so please some help.
target a monsters belly and back, these parts mostly have it
Is there any reason to use the 3rd string of the X > X > X combo or just spam the infinite combo?
Hey Gaijin,
when the U.S version comes out can you translate the bug or show us how to get it too?
What's his weapon called I can't find it on the wiki
thank you so much for your tutorials
got a quiestion! how shall i upgrade my kinsect after i reach G rank still going full speed and then something else or shall i start another path (like atk or res) and at the end max out speed? :) thx u!
I have a question. I'm currently running a Magala Insect Glaive, and I'm currently in G-1 Rank (I do have a G. Magala Guild Quest). Do you think I should keep on using the Magala IG, or should I switch to a different IG? If so, what IG might you recommend?
Cool video! What are some good 'pro' glaive players that I can watch on youtube? I really want to see if I can learn more from their gameplay style.
***** i dont know if they have any IG videos but try dadsuke i found them by watching gaijins hammer tutorial and then he had an annotation that sent you to their video which is amazing so they probably did IG
Delta Astrea Alrighty, I'll see if I check em out.
***** k glad i could help (if he has one but if not sorry)
Great guide!
If red essences are the best, can you just get 3 reds and just ignore the other colors?
They don't stack. Each consecutive red will just reset timer, making it last longer.
Each color has a specific slot so red can only take up one spot. If you get white/orange it boosts the effects of red as well.
Which glaive are you using in this video? It looks cool and I want it
What's the strongest single hit for this weapon?
And that green buff too, but I guess that's because the heal is too small to even bother looking for
i don't press R+X+A to make the bug come back only R+A
Insect Glaive and Charge Axe have become the most broken weapons of MH4U. It kinda makes me devalue the other weapons... and I like to use them all...
Well, It seems I´ve been lucky with the bug´s buff for getting the 3 In few seconds :D
And as for the Charge Axe...
That´s great too.
can someone link me on how to get this weapon? I'm new to this and have found nothing.
When you start the game, your chest contains a basic version of every weapon, including the insect glaive. You can also buy weapons from the arms seller (which is a *different* shop from The Man who crafts equipment from the materials you bring him). Later, as you find more materials, you'll be able to craft new ones.
Do u guys know where to get speed necters?
The elements are kinda important. They make youre bug do elemental dmg. Mine is currently thunder/fire. It very useful against monsters since you can make youre bug an element.
Yes it makes your bug to elemental dmg, but you are giving up more speed, power, and stamina to do it and thats no worth it. I much rather have a bug have more raw damage, and be faster then do fire damage with its attacks. I am not saying elemental bugs aren't bad, but people prefer there bugs to be more general with there damage rather then be specific with elemental dmg.
yeah, i have not nearly enough resousrces to make the super kinsect so ill just use the nectar i feel are needed.
Wow that kinsect was fast o.o
