How fun is this? This is SOOO good vocally and even comedically! They made it their own with a loving and respectful nod to MJ...the perfect balance of their talents and great material!
Yes!! What an incredible performance. What respect to the King, MJ. Amazing arrangement, vocals, acting and makeup. Bang!! Loved it! Crazy that this is without instruments.
And since you asked for suggestions - I highly suggest a few recent songs. Another MJ song “The Way You Make Me Feel” and their most recent before this “Be Prepared “ from The Lion King
To answer your question about how long it took them to do the video: the shoot took all day, morning to night, and they were exhausted afterwards! It was their makeup and prosthetics guy who came up with the idea of the progressive zombie transformations, so they structured the video around making that work. Such a cool outcome!
Since you mentioned ‘removing the instruments’ as idea for instead of their more ‘dance feel’ during Geoff’s narration bit , I’ll just remind you there are NO instruments at all - the whole way through. All the feel of instrumental backing comes from their voices. I know it feels a bit like a wall of sound and that makes it tough to remember.
And VoicePlay would heavily agree with you that a cover should not slavishly copy the original. They’ve asked aloud on occasion why anyone would ever want to hear a copy when the original exists? So they always put their own spin on it.

Thanks for more VoicePlay. They never disappoint!
