    One play not included was Jacob Josefson beautiful set-up to Stephen Gionta. Toe-dragged around a Caps Dman and was able to dish the puck to Gionta while falling. Just as good, if not better than the Nash pass while on the ice.

    From the NHL website: "It should be noted that while the position of the player’s skates is what determines whether a player is “off-side,” nevertheless the question of an “off-side” never arises until the puck has completely crossed the leading edge of the blueline at which time the decision is to be made." So if both feet are in the zone and the puck is on the line, as soon as the puck goes in you are offside. Your wording is right if the play entered the zone onside to start with though.

    Why is Magnus Paajarvi on this list twice with the same goal?

  • @MusicSim8
    @MusicSim8 11 лет назад

    Man, Thomas Vanek got snubbed hard with this countdown. His 3rd goal for a hat trick against the Bruins, his no look pass while falling down to Ennis, his goal from a no look between the legs pass from Pominville, he had a couple others that were beauts as well. Not saying they all should be on there, but he should be represented SOMEWHERE.
    His goals/plays were certainly nicer than Foligno's... (and Foligno is one of my favorite Sabres too)

    I agree that Datsyuk's goal was insane at #2, but he actually put himself offside when he kicked the puck off of his skate before picking it up and roofing it. Watch the replay at 21:30. Both of his skates are clearly over the line before the puck is.

  • @RobCartwright

    Datsyuk: 4 Lady Byngs, 3. Frank J Selke, 1 NHL Plus/Minus Award
    Crosby: 1 Art Ross, 2 Ted Lindsay ( 1 of them in 2013 which means he was voted best player by players this year), 1 Hart, 1 Rocket Richard, and he would have won more if it wasn't for injuries. But Crosby has many years ahead of him while Datsyuk has a couple seasons left. It's safe to say that Datsyuk is better defensively but Crosby is the better forward.

    regular season. Only covered 10 playoff highlights (mostly goals) before getting into the top 10 of the 50. They kind of made that clear from the outset. Besides, those goals weren't highlight reel in terms of skill - they were just extremely timely.

    I'm talking about the much more representative NHLPA poll. The truest way to compare players, though, is with advanced metrics, and Datsyuk blows everyone out of the water.

    Also, what I mean by 'I find that fishy', is because I've seen many players having been called offside in a similar situation. What I meant to say more clearly is that there seems to be inconsistency within the call across multiple instances, which is why it seems to be referee related.

    Callahan is underrated. He is amazing! Prob one of the only players in the NHL that gives it 200% every single night. No one can deny that. When the rangers give up, he keeps them in the game. He is def in the top 3 captains in the game. It isn't all about scoring cause if it was Crosby would beat him but Crosby is overrated. He's a baby. Callahan plays every inch of that ice well.
