    Hi Tom, a nice mixture of jobs there to keep you busy and some good looking copper and soldering there by young Jacob.
    Some jobs are hard work because of the position you have to work in, but as you say, you can only do your best.
    As long as the customer was happy and you had no dripping pipes, its job done. Hope you had a nice New Year, take care and all the best Tom. 👍👍👍

      Thanks for the support as always Chris, the customer was delighted, it honestly makes the job worth it for me. They had had a few plumbers out who had all walked away, it wasn't the best place to work but everyone should be entitled to hot water

    The old water heater looks like a "Chaffoteaux" . Seem to remember they were non electric. They were fairly common back in the days before every house had central heating.

    • @PlumbLikeTom
      @PlumbLikeTom  11 месяцев назад +1

      That is correct, they didn't need a power supply. The new unit required a fused spur. When I looked at the job I wasn't happy with the electrics, I got an electrician to check it out and he said it could have killed someone. Thanks for watching

      My parents house had a chaffoteaux hot water heater before the central heating was installed in the late 90's.

    • @PlumbLikeTom
      @PlumbLikeTom  10 месяцев назад

      I use a rothenburger dry pressure tester, it's purpose made to connect a pump onto and fits straight onto a 15mm copper pipe, it comes in really handy for clearing blockages on 10mm rad pipes, hope that helps, thanks for watching

    Do you still use the vented tap on under sink heater for hot water

    • @PlumbLikeTom
      @PlumbLikeTom  11 месяцев назад

      You only need the vented taps for the vented under sink water heaters, they have an extra vent pipe going through the tap, you don't see too many any more, the last one I did the tap was more than the price of a unvented heater so they mostly just get replaced
