    watching this in 2014. its crazy how fast technology progresses. all the latest tech in this video series looks so outdated..

      Brian Miller Most of it was just junk. The high tech area is San Francisco. Even Microsoft is way ahead of Japanese tech now.

    Japan seems really nice. It's not my cup of tea with the crowds, the cost of living and the working lifestyles, but I would love to visit.

    The pronunciation is designed to be understandable and recognizable to an English speaking audience who have not necessarily been to Japan nor speak any Japanese. It's clearly a travel program for tourists.

    @MaxichaChan I'm assuming 90's there are alot of vhs and plasma tvs. You dont really see them in the 2000's anymore. Especially since Japan is 10 years advance than the rest of us.

    wow, it's really hard to watch when they talk about tech.......all of that stuff is so outdated it's absolutely ridiculous right now. good lord. except for the toilet, that does seem pretty awesome, wonder how those have advanced since 1995 when this documentary was clearly made

      But it is still amazing how high tech things have gotten since this documentary was made! From carrying huge bricks to flip phones and now having slim tall smartphone that can be a PC in your hand!

    I spent many happy years in Tokyo, my happiest years, actually [THE WOMEN!!!], so I always enjoy being able to catch up on the latest. The only thing that bothers me about this video is that no one bothered to tel the narrator how to pronounce things. He got a few words right, Sony, for instance, but he's inexcusably wrong on most of them.
