Emperor of Sand is definitely my favourite album to listen to so far this year. Huge rock fan.
I LOVE their approach to making music. It’s so honest and real. You know that they worked hard on every song and didn’t just throw them together. By the way, Mastodon is one of THE coolest names for a metal band that I have ever heard! To me, that name says you’re going get something big and heavy and that’s exactly what you get.
I saw Neurosis with Today Is The Day back in '98, '99? Tantalising idea that I might 've watched a young Brann Dailor perform...

I love mastodon and all their albums. their my favorite band and have been for 8 years. idk why i look down at comments but i did anyway and i dont feel like debating with anyone but too many peoples opinions suck! its not just an opinion that i dont agree with, its ignorant opinions. why would people even be here if they didnt like a band. your not gonna see me surfing all over youtube for bands i dont like and bashing them on here waisting my time

But seriously, "Mastodon" is easily among the coolest band names of all time, any and every time I talk about them with someone that doesn't know their music usually says something like "Oh that's a badass name, are they a heavy band?" And I always respond "YES" grinning from ear-to-ear 😁😁
