Byron Katie is the founder of The Work. Katie (as everyone calls her) not only shows us that all the problems in the world originate in our thinking but gives us the tool to open our minds and set ourselves free.
The Work is based on FOUR QUESTIONS which can be done on your own or with another person, ending with a process called a "Turnaround": The four questions are:
1. Is it true?
2. Can you absolutely know that it's true?
3. How do you react when you believe that thought?
4. Who would you be without the thought?

The "Can you absolutely know its true?" part addresses the soul's journey which is something most people never consider. Katie sneaks that in beautifully!
So incredible. I was believing some negative thoughts and watched this and I'm feeling happy again.
I've been diagnosed with BPD. I've been in therapy for about 2 years now so I'm not doing this alone. I'm just starting this..I'm finding it helpful but not on its own. Some things come up that my mind isn't objective enough to see, that my "cognitive distortions" make it hard to reason through. So far a very helpful too, but I still need my therapist and other books.
Happy to talk about this more, as I do it more and work through The Work.

I experienced it only one time. for only two days in paris. it was one of the best experiences of my life. then I came back to my hometown and everything dissapeard again and sucked me in again. the "true love" then was that I loved myself and wanted to share it with a special person and show him my treasures so they would mutiple.
This is one of the most healthy, sane descriptions of love I've ever heard. Abraham-Hicks gives almost the exact same advice. Thank you for posting.

But why does being in love feel so good? If everything is so impersonal
In "Conversations with God", God (?) says that each of us is just a big energy field, and that our energy field extends out beyond our physical body. And energy fields aren't hard physical matter; they're just waves/particles, like light is. So when we're near another person, our invisible energy fields blend and become stronger, more intense, at the point where they meet. So according to God (?), what we fall in love with, or love, isn't actually the other person; it's the combined energy fields at their point of intersection, in between yourself and the other person. So if Tom meets Mary and they fall in love, Tom isn't in love with Mary; he's in love with their combined energy, which God (?) said could be called "Tomary". Similarly, Mary doesn't fall in love with Tom. She, too, falls in love with "Tomary" -- that energy formed by the conjoining of the two energies.
