The original killswitch stuff WAS Jesse. All that stuff howard did poorly, but jesse does well. Much like all the stuff howard did jesse does poorly. Howard had more powerful singing vocals. Jesse had more raw emotion which was why his version of songs are completely different (singing wise) it's suited to his style, much like Howard was suited to his. It would be like trying to have someone like Katy Perry attempt to sing something from a great singer like Tarja Taurenen. She can probably hit the notes (in a lower/higher octave) but it would not carry the same depth as Tarja's vocals.
@@ShawnFerrell That's correct, but let's give credit where it's due. 'Alive or Just Breathing' was the album that truly put the band out there, at least within the scene at the time. Though, once Howard joined, they delivered with "When Darkness Falls" for Resident Evil, which is a part of 'The End of Heartache' soundtrack, which is known as one of the band's most successful albums, then the rest is history. Howard undoubtedly perfected his run as lead vocalist for the band. Now, Jesse is carrying that torch again and is doing phenomenally well. The band was the most popular with Howard. Just recently, 'As Daylight Dies' became platinum.

I'm not a fan of Jesse, but I admit he does an admirable job here. Why does all the original material Killswitch does with him fall flat?
