The coloured scrap drawers was one of the first organisational "leaps" that I made a few years ago and it has made using scraps so much easier! The investment of extra jetmax was rough (I only had 6 cubes back then, so 3 more just for scraps seemed like overkill) but it changed the way I scrap forever! The drawers pull out easily too, so sometimes I bring a whole drawer to my table.
I love PL and this is my first year doing it. I was given the binder along with the core kit and page sleeves as a Christmas gift last year. Since then I have stopped using the core kit cards and now just use the graph 3x4 cards and create all my own each week depending on what papers I use that week. Each week I pick a different 6x6 pad to use each week.
I LOVE those graph cards and use them so much! Now that I have a new core kit I find I'm using it far more often, but I'm sure I'll grow tired of it and go back to using the graph cards. One thing I'll miss is the plain lined backs of the cards now that they have designs on each side. I prefer the new way with more designs but it was nice to flip a card over and have something plain to work with. I'll have to just make sure I keep myself well stocked in grid cards now.
I love your technical terms!!! "Wheely thing" and "green thing"....too funny!!! Great idea to store your scraps in seperate drawers by color...I'll have to get some more jetmax cubes and try that...I think I'd use them up quicker if I had them organized that way! Great video - TFS!! - Michelle
Arrows, hearts, butterflies in various shapes and sizes are fun too. They look nice to fill in gaps after or before journalling. Border stamps are great to put before and/or after journalling too. I don't have any quote stamps, but the Ali Edwards ones are nice for PL. I think if you think about the kinds of things you take pictures of and get some stamps sets in those themes, you'd be set. There is a cute SC stamp set that has "instragrammed" on it which is cute.
the new tray is actually growing on me. If you fill it up enough (I now have 2 kits and lots of free printabel cards) they stand quite vertical and they are easier to flip through because they are not as stuffed into the box.
Loved this video. I just started poject life about a month ago. So far it's going good.. just hope that it becomes a little faster.. I find that I am always trying to organize it all. I try to make all my organization and inserts to save money. I have purchased some good storage from Ikea as well for under $4.00. I too use alot of scraps, and papers in my stash. I also try to make alot of my embellishments. Love seeing your pl pages and ideas.TFS
I love your videos! I used to think I had to scrapbook every picture now that I do PL I feel that I'm enjoying scrapping alot more and I'm getting more of our life documented. I now scrapbook for my enjoyment. tfs.. Cammy
Hi there, I ordered this kit in March, and waited for 5 months to get it, so I know how you feel! I ordered before the changes in the kits were announced (or at least before I heard about the changes in the kits) but because I ordered when the old kits were sold out, I figured I'd be getting a new kit (I was hoping for an old kit that included arrows). I think each distributor (one in each country/region) fills the orders in the order they were received. Hope you get yours soon!
Thanks Tracy a lot of useful information, now I only have to choose which core kit I want! Love your set up its kinda similar to how I store and set up all my dailybook stuff. Thanks for the video :) Mari
I think Becky Higgins should make some plastic sheets that fits in a compartment of the new tray horizontally so that we could store the cards flat or vertically.
I am not doing any project life but it fascinates me. near to have cards that go vertical or horizontal. Good colours and designs for variety. Thanks. Hugs Mary
not sure if anyone cares but if you guys are bored like me during the covid times then you can stream all of the latest movies on Instaflixxer. I've been watching with my girlfriend for the last days xD
I use stamps but not as much as I'd like. I find the alphabet stamp set that came in a Studio Calico kit the most useful (the one like a tiny stepping stone) I also use other small alpha stamps from Michaels (the Ditto ones) and the little wood ones that come in a cube by studio g (about a dollar or so). I've been using the new Foodie stamp set by SC and Hero Arts a lot lately because I've been taking more instagrams of food as I try to eat better. (continued)
I've ordered Clementine and am delighted to see your kit while I wait. I like your monthly style, seems relaxed and to the point. Two questions: Did you start PL in January or mid-year? And: do you fit an entire year in one album? Thinking ahead, even if I use one album per year...that's still a lot of albums to store...but fewer than with traditional scrapbooking, right? lol
Very new to the whole project life idea ? Whats the general purpouse of it , is it just about you or is it about random things that arent kids photos or what exactly is a project life album ? Also just a idea i wanted to share , when im doing standard layouts and i have a bunch of papers pulled out to use i store them in a plastic dish drying rack plenty of room to sit each one nicely in the slot and even room for emellishments or alphas in the cutlery section Great 4 someone with limited space
how did you get your hands on the this kit? or did you buy the tray and put in your clemmy collection? :) no fair if you get first dibs....hehe. :) **purpledaisy**
OK. You have a lot of stuff. It's like me and my watercolor, but not quite so messy. I would say I'm not organized at all and the only thing that I have that ALMOST organizes my watercolor is my portfolio. But this still doesn't answer my question about how is project life like or different than scrapbooking. I used to scrap and now I sketch and paint. Is project life another project I need?
Hi Judith, Just came across this video because of my love for Project Life I'm always searching pl videos. For most people it isn't adding on another hobby, it is replacing traditional scrapbooking. For me, Project life is a lifesaver. I don't have to spend hundreds of dollars on multiple photo albums, one pl album holds all my photos for the year. I can journal, I can make it pretty with pl cards. Some people have many craft supplies, but I only have one core kit, and one album for the year and I can document my kids lives with ease. No scissors, no pasting, no flimsy albums and a place to jot down memories and stash keepsakes - im sold.
Hi Shanilie, Hope I got your name correct. I have seen the project life kits in Hobby Lobby and some in Michael's. Right now I'm kind of stuck. I still have a lot of Creative Memories supplies and 12-by paper, stamps, cricket, gypsy and more. When the consultants started hinting about CM going out of business they encouraged us to buy more, which I did. My daughter's friend/maid-of-honor is still way deep into CM, loves it. I don't know if she has ever done anything else. We have a weekend planned for end of the month. The trip before last was to Italy and I started that book (NOV '11), then we had a big trip from Amsterdam to Budapest on a river boat that I've been watercoloring, but not very well. My stuff downstairs is covered with dust and cobwebs. It's sad/scary really. So that's where I stand. Thanks for your encouragement. Sorry about the dump. I'm trying to get up the courage. Wish me luck!

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and how you organize. You were the first channel I subscribe to. You make good sense.
Thanks again,

Thanks for watching! Good luck with your PL! I think being organised like you are, is key!

The vertical/horizontal cards are very handy... makes me glad I got the newer kit (despite no arrows)

Yeaaahh I love the vertical and horizontal cards... I wasn't going to buy a new kit but now I just might...

Thanks for your comment. I love how liberating PL can be!
