Fonda Miriam Zihuatanejo Ixtapa

Fonda Miriam or "Number 8" is located in the old market a few blocks in back of the Central Mercado. There are 8 Fondas along the back side of the old market running between Los Mangos and Los Cocos streets.
A friend found #8 a few years back and we started going there a lot this year. It's run by Felix and family. His wife and her mother do the cooking and the family works on tables etc. They arrive early and prepare the items for the day which are served until they run out and close in the afternoon. They do a brisk take out business and you can see them through out the market in their distinctive Fonda Miriam shirts. This year Felix added a nice blue sink for washing your hands.
Great food and agua frescas with hand made tortillas all for 40 pesos.
