I’m in Australia, I’m regularly bucking Iron Bark for firewood. Iron Bark is as hard a timber you’ll come across. For you primarily falling hardwood timbers, trial a full chisel tungsten tip chain. Yes there is an out lay for a diamond / CBN sharpening wheel. But I go through several tanks of fuel (592XP) before even considering swapping the chain. The timber you’re cutting, you would get through the entire day. Just a suggestion. Enjoy your channel, great content !!
You can definitely hear the difference in the 395 as opposed to the 592! The 592 is BEASTLY! i Lovem...i just cant justify spending the money on one since im just a firewood cutter occasionally and afterall...it gives me a platform to build towards as a personal saw builder
395s and 582s are both awesome. The 592 is so light and smooth that it make the 385 seam clumsy for felling m. I still buck with the 395s. Be safe out there!
@@Good.Fellers I have a CS 7310 P Echo. I run 24 and 28-inch full steel bars! But I do have a 24-inch light bar sugihara for my Echo CS 7310 p it will run a 32in bar no problem. I borrow a bar from my echo CS 800 he once in awhile
Love the channel. Glad to watch someone who is a professional. Not some hobby saw guy who sucks cutting cookies with a race saw. I agree. Light bars just don't have the strength for hard wood use.
It sucks they’re building a hotel on that beautiful property. Those were nice trees. If I owned property as majestic as that I would find someway to keep it natural.
I’d like to see how you limb and cut up that big maple. Or tree like it. Great videos. Thanks for sharing all the different cutting types. I had no idea their are so many ways to fall a hardwood tree
Great stumps, confuses me that people leave high stumps. I cut pulp in Gotham NH in the 70s. They started me in the yard cutting with a big Husqvarna and 24” bar. If you survived the week they sent you out to the woods😂 where there was more money to be made. Best Regards
Couldn’t agree more about the lightweight bars. When I started, the bars were all hard nose. It took some getting used to sprocket nose, but I did quickly. But the diving board action when you’re pulling the trigger on a 90cc saw is no bueno lol
Thank you for sharing. Another awesome video. Perty big sugar maple. The way you leave your spur cut for holding wood if it does pull fiber it should be out of the stump and not from the butt. Alot of the trees i cut if they do fiber pull its off the stump. Easily cut off the log. I personally wont use light bars. They flex to much as you know. They dont work well with the bore cutting styles of the midwest hardwood fellers. Great for limbing and bucking. Thanks again for sharing.
Great channel. I really appreciate your no nonsense style. I’ve used tsumura lightweight bars for a few years now, no issues. However, I use an axe to knock the wedge out not my bar. Carry on.
Right on, I threw the chain boring into the tree . There to flimsy for my application. But I think it’s great that others use them and enjoy them. Tsumara is my favorite bar manufacturer and like to see them getting business.
@@Good.Fellers yeah I wish I was still young like you! I would be running a 592. I have to stick with my ms400 with a 20- inch light bar! I do a lot of firewood

Lightweight bars suck for heavy bore use for sure. The Stihl 500I with a 28 in lightweight is a real good saw for all day use. Cut the tree the safest way you as a faller and go home is all that matters.

oh yes, they are awesome
Great job as always. I like how you break down the reasoning behind your process. Efficiency and product value v cost and time.
Thank you! It’s all about efficiency.
You’re right about that light weight bar flexing like crazy, you can see it on that third tree really well. Yikes
Thanks, for all the comments ! Glad to have ya on the channel!
Thats some good looking timber, that tsunami light bar definitely had some crazy flex iv never seen one flex that much. Great video as always

I hadn’t thought about that problem with boring cutting with a light weight bar. I always learn something from your vids. Thanks
Awesome! Glad to hear from you!
I'm glad you brought that up in the comments I didn't think about that either good going Kevin. I don't use light bars for falling myself

Light bar is to flexible for me.

It’s the way of the world this land gets built on. Some other place get abandoned and goes back to nature.
I only ever cut my own firewood so a lightweight bar that's a 1Lb lighter makes sense, great video as ever.
Right on, I agree on the firewood.

High stumps aren’t good for skidders or the look of the woods.

Damned ol shagbark hickory will take a edge off a chain quick. Nice lay on that Maple. Good job fella.

Thank you glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks for posting dude. I found that interesting
Right on!
Love it!
Awesome, thanks shedder
The new Husky light bar made by Sugi might be a good compromise. The Stihl guys complain it’s too heavy so might be just right
I’m not a fan of Sugi bars myself. A lot of guy love em though.

Yeah I like the light bars for processing firewood. I have solid steel bars for everything else
Yes I get that. I’m done with them for what I do.

Inch bar a 32 is way better
What makes it better?
Standing upright to buck
@awakeforever Makes it harder to cut trees if the bar is longer then necessary. Also I don’t buck that much.
