Thank you for this account of the Herzogin Cecilie, really interesting.I remember my late father telling me that he drove down from Leicester to visit the wreck.
Thank you Abi and Dave, love your history channel 😊 I was only reading all about the Herzogin Cecilie with photographs at the Kingsbridge museum. It’s definitely worth you taking a look there.
You have unearthed footage of the ship that I had never seen before. What an amazing episode and a great account of the end of wind power during that time. I look forward to what your channel will cover next.
I have two photos of the Herzogin Cecilie that my grandfater took when it was in Birkenhead docks in the 1920s.

Thoroughly enjoyed your account of the Herzogin Cecile. I remember my late father telling me how his father drove him to see the wreck from Plymouth!
