I really like RED VELVET because their concept always changes. There's no time to get bored. If you react to more Red Velvet, don't be surprised if you find yourself saying "Is this the same group?!?" Every comeback is completely different.

Red Velvet is my #1 artist, regardless of genre. I'm old, and I've heard a lot of music. Red Velvet is worth the time to explore the catalog. There's depth and richness for the listener that just isn't there for other Kpop groups. I'm not surprised that you like them. You've just scratched the surface.
And take your time on your bias. These are grown women, and there's more about them than just visuals.
Same for me. If someone told me I can only listen to one kpop group, it would be Red Velvet. The fact that I listen to their b-sides more than their MV’s shows how much depth they have
Definitely check out "Bad Boy" next time! That was my first Red Velvet song, so I'd love for you to listen to it.

Red Velvet is of the most interesting kpop groups out there, they have an impecable discography that is SO diverse, they never do the same thing twice but still have a distinct sound. If you want to see more of them I suggest you react to Bad Boy (one of their most popular song), Really Bad Boy (RBB), automatic and Dumb Dumb!
Red Velvet, real talent, tops in Vocals, Visuals, Concepts, Choreo, Stage Presence, Acting, Weaponry….
They are idols of their peers, living legends, Queens of B-sides (where they really showcase their vocals), unmatched discography, and real life comediennes on and off stage. Even if the particular song is not your cup of tea, they will get you with the vocal and instrumental quality.

Red Velvet is known FIRST among critics and professionals for their musicality. RED is for bright, energetic, quirky songs. Meanwhile VELVET stands for their mature, sensual, elegant side. Kpop girl groups back then did not really focus on concepts however when Red Velvet debuted in 2014, they was quite the first to establish the differentiation between concepts and actually DO THEM RIGHT!
Next, they are always talked about when it comes to vocal harmonisations, and how their voices really complement the songs. Many music professionals who have worked with them have repeatedly praised the girls saying that the members just know how to work their voices to fit the verses they sing. Easily said they are really *particular* with their vocal tones to capture the essence of the concepts. This skills, make them to be really versatile, and you can actually see that it in their discographies if you deep dive!
The music videos that you reacted
1. RUSSIAN ROULETTE giving a mysterious-mischievous undertone and the way the members sing it really spectacular and really fitting to the music video itself!
2. PSYCHO talks about toxic relationship and how it is in circular motion where you just can't escape, hence why the members look like crazed psychos/stalkers throughout the video. Their voices somehow sound as unsettling as the visual concepts which I would say extremely well done
3. FEEL MY RHYTHM is one of the most experimental K-pop song in 2022 as they did a sampling of a classical piece (check out Bach - 'Air on the G String From Suite No. 3) while combining it with modern trap beat. This song is being praised by music critics as it has successfully maintained the classical piece throughout the whole song without sounding awkward/disjointed (they did justice!). The music video itself looks like a dreamland but it is actually inspired by several classical painting! Their swaying voices just make you feel like you're in a sort of Barbie movie, but more classical-themed.
All in all I have several other suggestions if you want to react to Red Velvet :
1. RED concept - Dumb Dumb, Queendom, Power Up, Zimzalabim, Birthday (their most latest release)
2. VELVET concept - One of These Nights, Automatic, Be Natural
You've just discovered the most beautiful, talented, diverse and creative girl-group in all of Kpop.

There is a very wide range on their discography, Zimzalabim for one is very different for sure.
The best thing about RV is that their content aren't just pretty, sweet, cute and aesthetically pleasing. They always have this underlying sinister darkness, or just straight-up weirdness to them. It's amazing.

Their title tracks is like a tip of an iceberg, their bsides is the whole body of an iceberg 💝
red velvet like what you read on the wiki is a group with two different concepts in mind. “Red” which is the really poppy sound sometimes and just the experimental sides of red velvet. if you listen to more of their songs you will get a lot of that pure pop sounds that you thought you were going to hear. but trust me they’re all really really good. especially when you come to love how different every song sounds and looks conceptually.
and then they have “velvet” which was more like psycho. unfortunately they do not have a lot of title tracks that are the velvet side but have tons that are b-sides and other songs on their albums.

"Feel my rhythm" samples Bach's "Air on the G string", and its music video was inspired by Hieronymus Bosch's "The garden of earthly delights". The MV has several references to it. There are also references to other famous paintings in this MV: "The swing" by Fragonard, "Ophelia" by John Everett Millais, "Nimphs finding the head of Orpheus" by Waterhouse, "Lady looking behind the walls" (or "The spy") by Paul Dominique Philippoteaux, "Gather ye rosebuds while ye May" by Waterhouse, "Woman with a parasol" by Claude Monet, "The birth of Venus" by Botticelli. The strawberries both in the MV and "The garden of earthly delights" symbolize temptation, the fall and sin, illusory and transient earthly delights.

Welcome to the talent that is this group. They started me in Kpop and have kept me here. Red is for their bubbly music and Velvet is for their more RNB sound and more soulful music. Their BSides are beyond amazing.

As a metal head and Kpop fan, I can say Red Velvet are one of my favourite artists out there. they are one of the more experimental groups in kpop and their vocals are so good. I highly recommend checking out more of them.
The song Psycho isn't related to movie Psycho at all. This song and MV were inspired by the movie "Black swan", main character of which played by Natalie Portman has dissociative identity disorder. Like that movie, main character of this MV (Seulgi, who starts the song sitting next to weaving machine in a white dress) also has dissociative identity disorder. 5 members of the group are her 5 identities, who are in a very weird and strange relationship with each other. In the beginning Irene sitting in the driver seat of a car and Seulgi sitting in the backseat means that Irene is the main identity, which controls other 4 identities. Irene sitting in the center of the sewing room in the same white dress as Seulgi in the beginning of the MV, and saying "I'm original visual, this is who we are" during her rap part also means that she is the main identity, and this is who they (all 5 identities of Seulgi) are. Right after Yeri's rap part Seulgi singing "How can I handle You?" means that how can she handle all 5 identities (or maybe only Yeri), who fight each other to take control of her. Joy, who whispers "psycho" in the beginning of the MV, wants to take control of Seulgi from Irene and the other identities. Maybe she doesn't want to share Seulgi with the other identities, that's why she cut the string of walkie-talkie, by which Yeri was communicating with Seulgi, and took Wendy away by pulling her hand and put her on the train. Thus Joy took Yeri and Wendy away from Seulgi and isolated them, so that they can't communicate with Seulgi. But Yeri broke the glass door (or window) with stone and sent message to Seulgi (or Irene) with a letter attached to it. During the MV Seulgi's reflection in the mirror isn't synchronized with her, which means that she has split personality, but in the end (before the last chorus) her reflection in the mirror finally is synchronized with her. In the end (before the last chorus) we can see that one of them is running into sewing room and finding out that she is alone, then she is turning to us, and we see that it's Irene. This means that all 5 identities of Seulgi became one under control of Irene, and they seem to be happy now singing "Hey now we'll be OK, it's alright", but at the same time we can see that Yeri isn't jumping on the mattress in her room, and there is a peephole on the door of her room, which means that she is under control now. And butterflies maybe symbolize transformation of 5 identities into one. So this MV is a psychological thriller and shows the Velvet side of Red Velvet with dark concept.

Red Velvet are an enigma. Such a weird mix in their repertoire. Listen to all of their releases and you will hear all sorts of vocals you miss on a first listen. Their MV's could inspire a thesis for a university degree!

I may have another group that is my favorite, but Red Velvet is my second favorite and I can honestly say that even though they aren't my number 1, they are THE BEST group. 2nd favorite group all time and simply the best vocals and best discography in all of kpop. Their discography had something for everyone.

If you really want a Psycho reference in kpop you should watch Maniac by Max Changmin. He's also in SM Ent and this video pays homage to multiple classic horror films. It's even in the name of the song~
I personally do prefer their 'Velvet' side way more than the other. Like Phycho is a masterpiece!
I'd highly recommend you to check out MAMAMOO. I can see you enjoying most of their 2018-19 releases as they went for quit a Latin vibe.

Another top tier girl group and Red Velvet's friends are Mamamoo, who debuted two months before Red Velvet. Mamamoo are known as the best female vocal group in kpop (although individually between all the members of both groups I place Wendy in 1st, place with Solar and Wheein very close behind at equal 2nd).
