@@KristinStepp We tried the pork chop in garlic sauce recipe last night, but i just used the pre minced garlic in a jar. It was fantastic! We could've ate that sauce on a shoe lol
Girl! That crispy part of the rice is MY FAV! That’s how they do it at the restaurant we love. So I don’t think you messed it up! 😂 Also, I don’t think you mentioned it but next time add a couple drops of sesame oil to your rice. Game changer!! Great video as always!!
Omg I made that potato soup tonight and it is quite possibly the best potato soup I have ever tasted. I added some cubed up ham and bacon crumbles in it while it cooked and added about 3/4th of a lb of Velveeta cubed up with the cream cheese, it was so delicious. It was so hearty, warm and cozy. We added extra bacon crumbles and shredded cheese when we made up our bowls along with some sliced green onion. I swear I will never make another potato soup ever again, it is perfect for a lazy, cold Sunday
I love your videos! I would love it if you did a video dedicated to freezer-friendly meals; making a bunch of meals and showing how you store them properly in the freezer for future use.
Hi Kristin. I’m glad that your family is feeling better. I enjoyed this video. It doesn’t matter to me how long you stay away, whenever you come back I am always thankful that you were the first “What’s for Dinner “ channel that I subscribed to. You are the OG my friend! Thanks for sharing.🤗
I’m DEFINITELY trying the pork chop recipe omg !! I’ve been looking for a new way to make them and this is perfect. I love your family dinner ideas videos. I’m single mom of one so just two mouths to feed but I just love that you cook like this for your family. Thank you for sharing 💜
The last few years bc of all the cooking videos I watch, I've been using diced tomatoes in everything. The last time I made chili the only tomatoes I had were whole peeled plum tomatoes, so I used them.... And let me tell you... the flavour and texture they add as opposed to diced was unbelievable! I had always made my chili with whole tomatoes until a few years ago and I've felt something was missing and now I know. If you haven't tried whole tomatoes instead of diced, I highly recommend.
Hi, thank you for describing in detail about how your prepared each of your foods even if it’s as simple as how you seasoned your steamed veggies. I wondered if Americans ate their steamed veggies plain since not many go into detail about that. It’s very helpful for me when I watch your videos because I’m trying to learn how to cook American style home meals which I did not grow up with. 😊
These all look amazing! I have no idea what to make first! I think the pork chops! Hope you all stay feeling well! I am so glad you kept the potato soup in here. Looks great and keeps you relatable
October was a sick month in our household as well. Husband got the gift of Omacron at work and brought it home to me. Hope you and your family is on the road to a healthy fall and winter.
Agree, don't feel bad! Our family has had the same issue--flu, cold and viruses back to back in the past two months. This the season esp in Midwest where we have had summer and winter in the same week here lately
Kristin, I sure do hope you all get to feeling better real soon. I don't even like pork chops that much, but I think that creamy garlic sauce is gonna change my mind! That looked really tasty.
Girl I have the same problem with over salting 😂. I think it comes from the fact that I used to under salt when I first started cooking lol. All your meals look so good, brightens my day when I see a new upload from you
Awwe, hon~ Please don't apologize. You and your family's health is the priority. Wishing you all a speedy and full recovery. Yummy sounding recipes- thank you!
Girl don't apologize. We appreciate any video you do. I love Christmas and December is my favorite month of the year so you can make it up to us and do more videos foe the month of December lol. Love you girl. Love all your recipes
I admire you for using a Blackstone! We have one, but I'm a little intimidated by it and I think my husband would be over my shoulder too much! I understand the can opener part, I wish all the cans I buy had the pull tab openers! All your food looked really good!
Porch chops looked Amazing. Definitely trying that! I have a blackstone and there is definitely a learning curve with it. I don’t like cooking with 2 spatulas and honestly I find them heavy. I got the cuisanart fish style spatula and I prefer to use that. The only thing is you can’t leave them sitting on the BS or the handle will melt. I also make fried rice on it often. I have learned that cooking on medium low keeps rice from getting crispy. And I use a lot more rice. I start my rice first before I do the meat and veggies because it will take much longer to cook properly. Using more rice Creates more of a buffers this way. The key is to break it up quickly (use your meat masher) and you need a lot more oil and butter than you think. At the end I season it with a little oyster sauce, msg flakes, soy, garlic and salt and pepper. Just trust me on this it tastes exactly like a Japanese steakhouse. And we serve all of our hibatchi meat and veggies with yum yum sauce. It’s soooooo good! I make it homemade but Walmart has a good brand as well. Anyway thanks for sharing! Your meals always give me such good inspiration.
I was wondering what to have for supper and the second I saw you start your chili I remembered that I had a container of my crock pot chili in the freezer. Thanks Kristin for the reminder. Your potato soup looked really good to me, like a stew, I like it thick. Great video & prayers 🙏 that you will all feel tip top soon.❣️
New subscriber and have been binging all your videos for like a month! Love your videos and have learned a lot from watching you cook. 💜 You’ve even inspired me to start using my crockpot!
as always your meals look delish! I know that I am going to try at least 2 of them! I loved the schnitzel recipe! well, I think I loved all of them to be perfectly honest! thanks so much for sharing! xoxo
You should try some toasted sesame oil along with the soy sauce in your fried rice. It adds a special flavor to the rice like it came from a restaurant.
I had covid for the second time in October and I don't know if it's what you had but I also felt it lingering. It just wouldn't go away. I felt it in like waves through out the weeks. It was just like the first time but not as intense. Hope you all are feeling better!
Don’t even apologize!!! I know feeling sick pretty well. I’m glad you & your fam are on the mend. Girl I would eat your potato soup ok? That’s the way I love soup 🥣 ❤
Don't worry about posting, you need to take care of you first. I will watch whenever you post. You are one of my favorites. I would try anything you cook always looks great. I think soup looks yummy. If anyone says anything negative don't listen.
Just add a half tablespoon vege oil of your choice to the butter. It will help keep the butter from browning so quick. It won't effect the taste at all. If you cut your garlic in half and take out the germ or middle part you a touch more garlic flavor without the bitterness that can happen.
That hibachi and chili looks so good. Homemade yum yum sauce is in my opinion so much better than the bottled. I’ve got a recipe I use if you want to try it. Just make sure to let it sit for a few hours, overnight is best. Yum-Yum Sauce 1 ¼ cups of mayonnaise ½ tsp garlic powder 1 TBSP melted butter ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (to taste) 1 ½ tsp sugar ¼ tsp paprika 1 tsp ketchup 2-3 TBSP water Combine all ingredients. Chill overnight and serve.
If you are a rice fan try adding a little powdered chicken bullion dry and a little of any cola drink. that is the 2 secret ingredients to hibachi rice. Totole brand Granulated Chicken Flavor Soup Base Mix is my favored because it doesn't clump up and dissolves well.
Aww. It's all good, I think I am one of your top subscribers that is always here waiting on your Halloween themed videos. 😁 I am always mentioning them to you....but like you said. Life happens. It's all good!! Don't feel guilty or bad.
that is not potato soup. it's potato with fat and more fat. potato soup is thinner and made with leeks and stock, tiny bit of cream. i don't know what that was
Kristen Every thing looks so good I was watching your hibachi recipe and wanted to add a new sauce as well if you want to try it next time I basically take some unsalted butter and I add around 2 tablespoons of soy sauce fresh garlic or minced it in the jar it doesn’t matter and lemon juice and parsley and I mix it all up and let it you know firm up in the fridge then Once you get all of your veggies and meats done you could add that garlic butter to it and it is so amazing just wanted to share it just in case you wanted to try it sometime 💕
All the recipes look awesome!!!!! Been wanting to try a potato soup recipe in the crockpot you definitely encourage me to try it!!!!! Life happens no need to apologize hope each of y’all feel better soon!!!!! Toodles till next time sweetie ♥️
Yummmmy!! ❤❤❤ I always add a dash of "sesame oil" along with my soy sauce and it gives it really nice almost nutty flavour and colour (the sesame oil is always kinda a golden brown colour) 😊 but not too overpowering, can't wait to try these recipes 🫶🏼
Super easy recipe I tried recently (courtesy of Bunnie aka the wife of musician Jelly Roll). She called it trap house cornbread 😂 4-6 boxes jiffy cornbread mix made as directed on box 1-2 lbs ground meat 1 can diced rotel, drained 1 can corn, draines 1 onion, diced Diced green pepper Seasonings of choice (we use Cajun 2 Step, soul seasoning, Garlic salt, pepper) 1 bad shredded cheddar for top Brown the meat and add onions and peppers to cook until tender. add seasonings of choice and the canned items. In bottom of greased baking dish add half the cornbread mix. Top with the ground meat mixture and half the cheese. Pour remaining cornbread mix on top and cover with foil. Bake at 350-375 until almost done. Remove foil, top with remaining cheese and finish baking. Super easy and affordable.
Everything looks yummy I'm definitely gonna try the porkchop recipe and try with chicken to and no need to apologize girl we understand and love every video you put out I hope you and your family starts to feel better really soon 😊 and a very Happy Birthday 🎉 to your daughter
Don't stress about it☺️......happy birthday to ur lil one🥰...my bday was Oct 27 I to had a spooky/Halloween bday party(I had hocus pocus decor) I never do regular bday decor it's always Halloween ❤️
I don’t mind the missing seasonal content. I come for the down-to-earth stuff that I would actually make for my family!
I appreciate that ❤

Frito chili pie is one of my favorite things I tried when I lived out in the Midwest
That's how I made our chili - but I always rinse and drain a can of black beans too along with what you used. I do the same thing with baked beans.

Super easy recipe I tried recently (courtesy of Bunnie aka the wife of musician Jelly Roll). She called it trap house cornbread 😂

1-2 lbs ground meat
1 can diced rotel, drained

1 bad shredded cheddar for top
