- Follows I-80 West across the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge at night into San Francisco to US-101 South to I-280 North back to the city where we pick up I-80 East back across the bay to the Emeryville exit.

The Bay Bridge at night is awesome! I have to say it is awesome to see lit up at night! Very nice ride, finally took the time to see it! Awesome ride! Always enjoy seeing the San Francisco area- as it is on my bucket list of highways to explore!

Yes, I choose all the music, sometimes it comes to me quickly, others it can take a couple hours of trying different songs to see what I feel "fits" with the footage.

I do miss the old neon signs they used to have in the 1950s and '60s as you get off the bridge to enter the City. The only one left seems to be the Coca Cola sign.

While everyone here in europe only focusses on the iconic Golden Gate, the Bay Bridge is surely able to compete with it 'freewaywise'. The entrances are amazing and the bridge itself even more.

The New version of the bridge is really meant for the night. These videos take me away from my daily problems. For a few minutes as you entered Frisco I was thinking of going clubbing , then I remembered its 8:25 AM and I'm approaching 60

The 1965 map is interesting... It has I-80 going along the stub of where US-101 is today and then I-480 going along what I think is CA-1 today... Oh! And I should mention: That old Coca Cola sign? Yeah... Its gone now... Just like the old 76 tower that was near the I-80 / 480 interchange...

Brilliant! Damn, that camcorder really shines brightly, once put into night mode. I've always said driving the new bridge at night is akin to driving through a cathedral of sorts. On a side note, how come I can't get the free-flow driving conditions to appear on my daily drives around here, that you got in this video? lol. Fantastic work, my friend.
+FreewayBrent Thank you, much appreciated. Cathedral is the perfect comparison IMO, there's nothing quite like driving through this at night....I know how bad the traffic can usually be around there, sometimes it's good to be lucky.
I have rode and even drove on these freeways several times since I am a native but come back every year on vacation since I moved . San Francisco isn't all that glamerous and has some areas notorious for crime , like Bayview / Hunter's Point , Visitacion Valley , The Tenderloin , Inner Mission & Western Addition / Fillmore . A home in a good neighborhood you have to shell out over $ 1,000,000 for and rent is sky high crazy !
some homes are going for $1 million even in the Bayview/Hunters point now. It's one of the least gentrified parts of the city. There's a bunch of industrial stuff, it's home to a bunch of projects, there are regular shootings, etc...but even there people are paying way over asking price. It's crazy
About $120,000/yr. is considered low income in San Francisco, LOW! Most anywhere else, that would be middle-class. This is one of the contributing factors in San Francisco's chaotic homeless problem (along with rampant drug use).
One of the best cities in the world i wish visit this fantastic town in future.. Also i support Golden state warriors and i want see match in new san fran arena!!!!....very good job keep working jim!!!

+Sam Smith There is no I-480 and $4-6 is very reasonable to cross a major bridge, it's $13-15 in NYC, you have the world's information at your fingertips, feel free to find another way.

Take the I-5 JCT Then when u head to Washington it might be evening or morning then just stay on I-5. Pass The Last Stop is Bellingham Then u hit Blaine And ur in Canada

They were there. I thought I may have seen someone about a second later facing the building as if he is relieving himself. Yeah, San Francisco's homelessness is really bad, so bad in fact that the city has to invest in "fecal clean-up" services. I can only shudder to think about a possible dysentery outbreak.
