Hi Doug, 9 years later and it's still good information you provided. I've been developing network drawings for the past 15 years with Visio and NEVER created a Swim Lane diagram until today. I'm using MS Visio Plan 2 MSO and all the features are still here and I thank you!!
Great video. Concise and informative. Would really like to see one that attempted to explain some of the typical uses for standard shapes, or how one might link to images of, for example, screen shots. Cheers.
You are welcome! I wish you can teach me Macros right from the basics. That's something fascinates me, or at least let me know the links to refer. Cheers..!
I got a big process with a lot of swimlanes and I lose my orientation all the time in which lane I am at the moment when I scrolled far to the right. Is there any possibilty to fixture the names of the swimlanes when scrolling from left to right to see in which lane I am all the time? Help would be soo nice
Very helpful post Doug, thanks! I liked the "Shadow" option you used to fill the swimlanes with colour, but unfortunately I can't find it in Visio 2013. Have they hidden it somewhere, or removed it?

Great video, illustration and commentary. How do I add processes that start in parallel or at same time instead of sequential? Thx again!
Hi Jim W., thanks for the comment! You should be able to repeat and add connectors for parallel tasks.
Thank you Doug. Brilliant job. This help me master the tool. Cheers!!

Would love for you to talk about phases
Hi MrsRas, thanks for the comment!
Thanks Doug! Just what I needed. Do you have any examples using a service company who has customers accounts in a financial hold status?
Nice video, learned a lot. Visio newbee appreciates the work to make this video.

+Justin Rofe Not sure about 2003, but the 2007 version calls this feature "Fill". Use the Solid pattern if you want to see it :-)
This helped a lot, thanks!
Thanks very much. It's very useful.
