  • Roselle is a species of Hibiscus native to Africa, most likely West Africa. It was in the 16th and early 17th century that it spread to the West Indies and Asia, respectively. It is used for the production of bast fibre and as an infusion, in which it may be known as carcade.
Okra or Okro, Abelmoschus esculentus, known in many English-speaking countries as ladies' fingers or ochro, is a flowering plant in the mallow family. It is valued for its edible green seed pods. It is a good source of minerals, vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber.
