    There is only one sure cure for depression. DO WHAT YOU ARE MOST AFRAID OF DOING. Stop being stopped by a frightened little ego's fake worries. Don't "figure it out," but walk around and past it and into real life. You discover that you don't die but actually begin to really live!

    How do you watch a feeling?

    • @sublime_minds
      @sublime_minds  Год назад +1

      Recognize the Feeling: The first step is to acknowledge that you are experiencing a certain emotion. Whether it's anger, sadness, joy, or anxiety, identify the feeling without trying to suppress or ignore it.
      Pause and Breathe: Before reacting, take a moment to pause. Breathe deeply and slowly. This helps to center your mind and creates a space between your feeling and your reaction.
      Observe Non-Judgmentally: Watch the feeling as an observer, not as a participant. This means not labeling the feeling as good or bad, or getting caught up in it. Imagine the emotion as a cloud passing through the sky - it's there, but it's not a permanent part of the landscape.
      Notice Physical Sensations: Often, emotions are linked with physical sensations in the body. Observe any tension, warmth, restlessness, or other sensations that accompany your emotion. This helps in understanding how your body reacts to certain feelings.
      Let Go of Stories and Thoughts: Our minds tend to create narratives around our feelings. “I’m feeling anxious because…” or “I’m sad because…” While these stories might have some truth, the practice of watching a feeling involves letting go of these narratives and focusing on the present experience of the emotion itself.
      Return to the Present Moment: If your mind wanders, gently bring your focus back to the present moment. Concentrate on your breath or a point of focus to ground yourself back into the now.
      Reflect: After the intensity of the emotion has passed, reflect on the experience. What did you learn about your emotional response? How did your body feel? What thoughts came up? This reflection can lead to greater self-understanding and emotional regulation.

    Yes I do. You know I am the one, right?
    I am exactly where I was in our last life. You all have done exactly as you did as well. There's no hope if we continue this cycle. Once this road is open to me again I'm heading to wherever, and I'm sure I'll find us there once again. So what's the point? If I transcend then we're all 'good', but if I don't, then We are all done here - for good.
    I may be god's favorite punching bag, but I seem to be the only one here Its talking to and looking after.

    • @sublime_minds
      @sublime_minds  Год назад +4

      So Watts thought that depression was a natural response to the challenges and difficulties of life and that there is nothing wrong with that. He recognized that many people experience feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and despair at different times in their lives. However, he also believed that depression could be an opportunity for personal growth and transformation. Depression could be a signal that something in our lives needs to change. He encouraged people to look deeply within themselves to find the source of their pain and suffering. He believed that by facing their emotions and embracing their vulnerability, people could find a new sense of purpose and direction.
      Watts also talks about the importance of living in the present moment and cultivating a sense of mindfulness. He believed that by focusing on the present and letting go of worries about the future or regrets about the past, people could find a sense of peace and tranquility.
      Tomorrow can only be handled by those who dont take it seriously
      It can be hard to practise while you are going through it for sure, but learning to quiet the mind and to just be in the present moment is a great way of achieving some peace even if its only intermitent. After time and through repeating the process it begins to reframe your thinking and help.

      If you really want to get an understanding of Alan you gotta listen to more lectures. Alot of people only listen to a few minutes of his lectures, there's a lot of context that just doesn't fit in such a short window of opportunity. This one's pretty good though. 👍
