Autofocus has been a nightmare with ZVE10 for me, trying to have my gf and I in one shot in front of the camera doing RUclips videos has been impossible. It focuses on my boom arms then on mics then our faces etc. lol

Yes you can however, this isn't solely based on the focusing system with the camera but more of your settings and your position with the camera. To make this as simple as possible.. when you focus on an object, your camera focuses on what's on the "focal plane". The focal plane is the space/ distance between your camera lens and the point of focus in your image. Your aperture is going to determine the area close to the focal plane what will be in focus. Lower numbers like F1.4 are going to give you a shallow depth of field. This means that areas surrounding your focal plan will be blurred out. A higher aperture like F8 will give you a deep depth of field. This means that the area around your focal plane will appear to be more in focus. Your focal plane runs horizontally through your image. Imagine taking a photo of a friend and about 5 feet behind him were trees. Looking from the top you would see the space between your friend and the trees behind him. Imagine that he is standing RIGHT on an imaginary line. This line represents the focal plane. As long as your friend stands on this line he is IN FOCUS! Anything not on the same horizontal line (in front of the line or behind the line) that he is standing on.. will NOT be in focus. Anything ON the same line WILL be in focus. So.. the key to getting multiple people in focus AT THE SAME TIME, is by having them on the SAME focal plane which runs horizontally. In other words, to keep two people in focus at the same time, they need to be side by side. You can deepen your depth of field (the space around your focal plane) by adjusting your aperture, so that others around appear to be in focus as well. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching!👍🏾

Around 4:00, when it's tracking faces live, are you shooting 1080p video? When I try to use face detection AF in video mode in 4K, it tells me that it's not available in XAVC 4K mode.
I believe that when you face the camera towards you and flip the screen around, things are already mirrored. Inside the Imaging Edge app, there is an option to turn on "Mirror Mode" as well. I hope this helps. Thanks for taking the time to watch and support the channel!🙏🏾

After years with a6000 finally bought a6600... But now with canon r7 with dual card slots and adapted efs or even ef lenses.... You know if sony will not come with 4k60 and dual card slots... I will go for canon probably.

You can turn off autofocus in the "functions" menu. Keep in mind that there are also many different autofocus settings which allow you to change how the camera uses it's autofocusing system. It's for video and photos. Once you register the faces, you will get a purple outline around the face that was registered. This let's you know when it's working. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

lol no dual slot and you need to record on atomos to have face registration priority working. and to record 1080p 50fps sensor is cropped. so much effort from sony to make me skip this camera. i'd love to use 18-105 and a good but cheap aps sony camera, but i need to wait a bit more i think
From what I recall (it was a while ago!), Face Recognition doesn't work after plugging in an external monitor UNLESS you are shooting in 1080P. Thanks for commenting! 👍🏾

You need to turn on « plane mode ».
Hi how can I use mirror mode on the camera by itself and while connected on imaging edge via phone/ pc?
I believe that when you face the camera towards you and flip the screen around, things are already mirrored. Inside the Imaging Edge app, there is an option to turn on "Mirror Mode" as well.

because when i used to write something on board it is not visible because it focus on my face.

Is the face registration applied for videography or for photography as well ?
It's for video and photos. Once you register the faces, you will get a purple outline around the face that was registered. This let's you know when it's working.
